When I'm trying to run Minecraft on my Surface 3, it crash after showing the Mojang logo. I installed it on my desktop PC and it works like a charm. I wonder why it doesn't work on my Surface since the Java version is running.
I've checked the event viewer and it seems it's unable to pass validation. I wonder if I shouldmake a clean install of Windows 10 on the Surface, it was upgraded from Windows 8.1
If you're on Chrome or Firefox, right click this URL and select "Save link as..." and save the file as anything you wish; make sure "Save type as" is set to "Windows Batch File". A file will download. Once it has, run the file and it
The script will get data from the Event log, when it runs it will prompt you to clear the existing event logs, select "OK" and then "Yes" to confirm.
Minecraft should then launch, and after a bit it should close and you should get another prompt telling you that Minecraft successfully ran, select "OK" to gather logs anyway.
Select "OK" after the script ran, and a notepad window should open. Copy everything in it and post it to https://gist.github.com/ -- press "Create Secret Gist" and give us the link to which it takes you.
If you wish to do this manually, you can do so by referring to this page. Although the page only lists "Application" you should also do the same for "System". In addition, expand "Applications and Services Logs" -> "Microsoft" -> "Windows" -> "Apps" -> "Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational" and do the same for it. Once you've cleared the logs, run Minecraft and copy all the events that should appear once you have the issue and sumbit them to https://gist.github.com/ -- press "Create Secret Gist" and give us the link to which it takes you.
Some have worked around the issue by using a new user account. See the other posts in that thread also and see if any of it resolves the issue for you.
It seems an account issue, that's strange. I have Minecraft on Xbox 360, and my accounts were merged when I got the Surface, I wonder if the issue is coming from that. I'll try the new account solution tomorrow morning but I would like to try a fresh OS install as well because if it's a migration issue from 8.1 to 10, I guess I'll get other issues before long.

To be clear, is this the Windows 10 Edition you're meaning?
Yeah? I'm not in the good board I guess? Could you tranfer it to the good subforum?
Edit: thanks!
