I have been working on the exterior of my adventure map and just about 2hrs of linear gameplay thanks to the REDSTONE ENGINEERING i've been learning. Today I loaded up my MAP and realized the orginal starting location, village (created buildings, shops, spawners, redstone engines) have all been removed as well the map it's self reverted back to it's orginal SEED LANDSCAPE (There is litereally half of some buildings, as if they were cut with a clean line and never existed). I can't imagine how this would happen and am very worried about making anymore progress in my build if it's going to deplete previous work.
1. Are there limits to amount of blocks used? (I am aware of MOB's and Item Frames)
I've attached the village before, the village after and as much of the Adventure Map (I've built) that would fit into a single picture (not possible).
If anyone has any ideas on why, so much of what appears randomly selected (not what I built first when starting) can be removed from my entire build, I would better understand if I want to invest anymore time on this map or Minecraft at all? I've been a big fan since I started playing 6-7months ago, but I have already had to rebuild a lot (REDSTONE ENGINES) due to the 1.8 update (which is really great, though frustrating at first) and now don't want to continue any further if my previous work will be lost? There is no end without a beginning.
Here's the answer to your question. Minecraft updates have a "gigantic" glitch that resets "massive" chunks of your world and nobody can do anything about it.
Thanks minecraft. Now I quit you forever. Plus, I'm never buying your toys for my children again.
Yeah, there's nothing like investing a ton of time building something you think is completely awesome and thinking you can keep it for as long as you want, just to find that it has mysteriously vanished with out trace and reason. Furthermore, there is 100% zero technical service to assist you in getting it back; not to mention, no one cares.
Yeah, you can say, "You should have backed up your save." Except PS4 doesn't have a backing up your save option. So, the hours I spent building my railroads, massive buildings (ON SURVIVAL MODE ONLY!) and all the sweet stuff in the many chests that have all been mysteriously cut in half has all been for nothing. Why bother building anything if you risk having it hacked in half.
Hey, with all those $25 foam swords you sell Mojang, how about you invest in some technical service. I QUIT FOREVER! Thank you for the time you wasted reading this, I only hope it had been more.
Op, are you playing on PC? I ask because you say 1.8 update and PS4 is only on 1.16 version, or TU twenty something... if so, this isn't your best bet for any answers. Try the PC section of the forums..
@Phattyjj, really?? Again with this rant? If you're done, you're done and can just leave, with no disrespect intended, as no one needs such negativity. If you have a suggestion, please put it into the suggestion box.
Ppl have tried encouraging you to keep playing with many good ideas, and you ignored them all. And, by the way, you can always copy your save and store it onto a flash drive, as stated to you previously (and, as with the rest of the advice given, you chose to ignore it.)
Funny things in this situation you have are that you're punishing Mojang when the console edition is run by 4J Studios, and that you're screaming at Minecraft, a game, not a company, like the children you claim you to have.
Please, listen to this next statement carefully. You're asking them to restore your world as if the company can actually store, and grab on a whim, your world, and the rest of the 'however many people who play', and the 'who knows how many' other world files you and the rest of the community may have saved.. does this,in any way, make sense? If every single persons' every single file was on backup to just grab whenever they wanted there would be absolutely no way to actually have a game to play...
And please, keep in mind, the company does care, they just can't keep everything like that sitting at arm's length in a little box with your name on it for a just in case scenario like this. If you have a way they can do this, And still run their company, again, put it in the box and wait for a reply.

This literally just happened to me too, and I came here to see if this is a frequent problem. Luckily, mine wasn't in THAT bad of a location; just a whole jungle regrew. I had been doing a lot of landscaping though so thats pretty frustrating seeing as I have to take it ALLLLLL back down again..... But I'm just happy it didn't tear my base apart (as far as I know I need to fully check everything) but yeah they really gotta fix that, BC thats a HUGE problem if it hits in a bad area.
If you had turned autosave off maybe you forgot to save and lost some your some of your progress (which leads me to my second point), this is very unlikely, however if your buildings have been halved e.t.c.... This is most likely a problem with loading your world, and the more stuff you change makes more stuff to load, so if that world is taking up a bunch of space (when your looking at it in the menus) it is increasingly harder to load, so it is more likely that it will make a mistake. Atleast, that's my interpretation of your problem.
P.S: Are those attatchments of your build cause DAYUUUUUUUUUUUUUM, they like pretty good.

Also, is this forum my best bet for answers?

You don't need to know all the answers, you just need to know where to find them.
