A few months ago I bought my first 'actual' gaming PC.
It includes an RTX 3070, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, 16GB of DDR4 RAM.
I'm trying to run shaders on mainly modpacks but I'm sure it'd do the same in vanilla (I'm not entirely sure).
For some reason I get a maximum of 40 FPS with max settings to quality and maxed shader settings.
Not sure if this is normal or not? Was wondering if someone can help me out here.
Post a screenshot with F3 enabled and your JVM arguments.
It's also best I tell I am also running in full 4k. Maybe that's why?
I had to window Minecraft if the last screenshot as the upload was bigger than 5MB.
When I'm in fullscreen though I get 20-25 FPS.
Are there changes, if you reduce the view-distance to from 28 to 12
Yes, but not by much. Maybe a few FPS.
Maybe it refers to the RTX 30 Series
Others also report performance issues with these GPUs
You can try to install older Nvidia driver versions
Also make sure the Nvidia Overlay is disabled
Should I be getting that low FPS with my GPU on 4k and maxed out settings + shader settings?
You can make a test without 4k - in your display settings temporarily change your resolution to 2k
Switched to 2560x1440 and easily got 40-50 FPS.
So I'm guessing it's the 4k aspect?
Yes this is possible
The higher the resolution, the lower the FPS.
