So, I went to Minecraft Alternative Downloads to download the Minecraft Launcher for Debian and I downloaded it. But, I realised that my file was way too small. Instead of the file being 56 MB, for me it was 873 KB. I downloaded it like 20 times, and for all of them the same issue happened. I thought maybe it would be fine, so i installed it with Linux and launched it. It just loads there and doesn't work. I have tried to use the terminal but none of the commands work.

What flavor of Linux are you using? Ubuntu, Fedora, etc, etc
I am using a Debian 10 (Buster) Laptop
What desktop environment are you running, and how are you starting the program?
