Here's the problem I've having - I can play the game with a least 30 FPS so long as the chunk rendering distance is set to a value of 2. If I were to try and set it above that threshold, the game struggles to run over 5-10 FPS. It's the only option that seems to even effect my performance as well; changing the graphics level, particles, mipmap and clouds do nothing to hurt or help (noticeably). Theoretically my PC should be capable of running this game fine on at least like a 15-chunk distance, or so I thought. I'm new to PC gaming I should add, please forgive my ignorance.
My set-up:
- Windows 10 (64-bit)
- Intel i7-6700k (4 core, 8 processors)
- AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT (I also have the default Intel HD 350 card enabled, I already tested with it uninstalled and no difference was found)
So it's nothing beefy but should still be capable. I know RAM allocation won't do all that much depending on the situation but I've also tried allocating 4GB instead of the default 2GB to no improvement shown (I'm afraid to allocate more, since there was no noticeable improvement in the first place). You'll find attached my in-game F3 screenshot if that helps. Thanks for any input, I appreciate the help.
Say something silly, Laugh 'til it hurts, Take a risk, Sing out loud, Rock the boat, Shake things up, Flirt with disaster, Buy something frivolous, Color outside the lines, Cause a scene, Order dessert, Make waves, Get carried away, Have a great day!
But after looking into it, it seems to be a virtual machine and the game doesn't just run off my normal GPU? That's nuts, I don't know why it would be this way but I guess I'll need to find a way to bypass or force the game to run through my actual GPU? Either way, thanks for pointing me in this direction. I appreciate the feedback.
Based on the following thread your OpenGL driver may have somehow been replaced with TitaniumGL's and it needs to be replaced (they fixed it by reinstalling the one from the Windows disk but updating/reinstalling your GPU driver is a better solution):

Minecraft run poorly on VMware.
I don't even know what VMware is.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
Thank you that helps a ton! Will try this out.
