I have a very very old Minecraft world from about 2012. Are there any ways to recover it? or any services I can hire to recover it? I have 0 knowledge of the name of the world but I still remember the world and would love to keep playing in it.
When you say you have it, do you mean you still have the file?
You should be able to just open it, though if you want to keep it in the same version you played it in originally you should make a new installation using that version. And you should use a separate file directory to keep the worlds separate.
Also you should take a backup of the world first, once you open it in a version you almost certainly can't go back to an earlier version, trying to open it in an earlier version then the last time is very likely to lead to losing the world.
If you don't know what version you last ran it in then trying to open a copy in the latest version should give you a message like "Are you sure you want to do this? This world was latest played in version <1.xx.x>" and would then give you the option to make a backup (you should still do that yourself to be safe) and start it in the latest version.
Some very old versions may have to be run in some version in between their original version and the current version in order to be run in the current version.
Come to think of it, you shouldn't even have to try to open it, just looking at it in the world list should show you the version (unless the format the version is stored as has changed.)
If you don't still have the file there isn't much that can be done, worlds aren't stored anywhere central (unless you uploaded a copy somewhere.)
If you still have the same computer it is possible that the file could be recovered but unless you can find the file it's unlikely to work, recently deleted files might be recovered but ones that were deleted a long time ago have probably been overwritten by newer files.

Good luck!
Just testing.
No, I don't have the file. And I do have the same computer
I don't think there's anything you could do for that. Other than search your recycle bin endlessly. From that long ago, it's probably gone.
