Whenever I minimize Minecraft in Fullscreen and go back to the game, I'm met with a frozen screen and error message. The issue goes away whenever I play on windowed mode, however my framerate is considerably lower than on fullscreen, so I prefer to find a different fix. GPU drivers and Windows are updated.
We need to see your full launcher log, which is created in the game directory.
First
open your .minecraft folder (If you don't know how to get there, ask),
then try to launch the game. Then in the .minecraft folder open the
launcher_log file, and copy its content to https://paste.ubuntu.com. Click "Paste!", then share with us the link (the URL) that it takes you to.[/p]
The "fix" is to play in windowed mode, switch to windowed mode (F11) before tabbing out (this has never given me any issues), or play in borderless windowed mode by adding "-Dorg.lwjgl.opengl.Window.undecorated=true" (no quotes) to the JVM arguments; however, this will not give you the benefits of true fullscreen (the reason why it causes issues is because the game has exclusive access to the GPU in fullscreen, and many of them do not handle the loss of context well when switching to the desktop). I'm not sure if there are other ways to fix it (changing GPU settings, etc) and the reports do not seem to implicate any particular driver/GPU.

This is a common issue with Windows and fullscreen games in general:

MC-114553 Alt-tab while in fullscreen = crash (marked as "fixed" in a 1.13 snapshot but clearly not fixed based on comments and reports elsewhere)

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
