Since yesterday my Minecraft began acting crazy, my fps got dramatically decreased, even with Optifine installed. My Average fps on optifine is like 2 fps, on vanilla the max fps i get is 40. I don't know what causes this problem. I tried everything to solve it, reinstalling my gpu drivers, reinstalling the game and reinstalled Java and nothing got solved. I'm very sad, because i got a high end pc with every game running perfect, but not Minecraft. I got a high end gaming pc and this should not be happening.
my pc specs are:
Intel Core i5-7500 CPU
Amd Radeon RX 480 8192MB GPU
16 GB RAM
Gygabyte Z270X Ultra Gaming Motherboard
Windows 10 x64 OS
is there anyone who had this problem before or someone who can help me?
BTW: lowering video settings is something i don't see as a solution, but an alternative way of playing wich i don't like to do. because my pc should run better.
i hope you guys can help me (ps: sorry for my possible bad english)
Minecraft doesn't seem to be able to allocate enough RAM.
Also, your PC isn't exactly high-end, it's more mid-tier. It may have been high-end a few years ago though.
Allocate less memory to Minecraft, try -Xmx2G or -Xmx4G in your JVM arguments.
Turn off mipmapping.

I wasn't referring to the RAM allocated via launch arguments, I'm referring to the amount the game actually displays. It shows only 1GB of RAM was actually allocated, which might not be enough.
But even still, I just looked at what it says he's told it to get and it's way too high. Considering he says his PC has 16GB of RAM he should never set more than 12, and it looks like he set all 16GB of it, which is a very bad idea.

As long as allocated memory isn't reaching the maximum there is no reason to think that there isn't enough being allocated (actually used); the game only uses as much memory as it needs and the JVM should be smart enough to allocate enough; I've never had any issues myself even though it only allocates around 250 MB out of 500 MB (I have Vsync enabled but I can get 10x the FPS at the same settings, which I play on out of preference, not that I can't handle higher render distances; even 20 chunks allocates less than 500 MB), and never get lag spikes during gameplay, aside from brief stuttering right after loading a world for the first time and again when generating new chunks for the first time (but not afterwards), both likely due to the JVM loading and compiling code on the fly as the game accesses it).
Also, I noticed that the screenshot given by the OP seems to indicate that only one CPU core is present ("1x Intel Core i5-7500", which is definitely not correct, it also says "single-threaded" under FPS on the left side), which is definitely not the case - something seems to be limiting the game to a single core/thread, which will definitely hurt performance, especially in newer versions as they are more multithreaded (even older versions, like 1.6.4, benefit from multiple cores; one each for the client, server, file I/O, and garbage collection, and then another for any background processes that may run on your computer).

I did notice that but even at 1 core 3.4GHz should be enough to maintain a decent FPS. I used to play 1.7 on a single-core 2.7 GHz CPU. Regardless that should also be fixed as the i5-7500 is a quad-core CPU if I remember the i3/i5/i7 designations properly.

here you see, it shows 4, but that is way too much because i have a total of 4 cores, i changed it to 2 and it still shows 4, and framerate still hasnt changed, i hope this can be fixed asap because it makes me very sad not being able to play anymore.
Try without texture packs and lower the render distance.

i did, it brought me to like 40fps, which still isnt very much, i personally think it hasnt something to do with my game, i think it is something with my java, or cpu.

is there any possibility to fix that?
and okay, not exactly high end, like 2 years old. but still good enough to get more than one frame per second with minecraft, i just think
More RAM does not mean more FPS, it's a myth.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

i changed it to 2 now, but when i open the game it still shows 1, and still got a bad framerate.
Post a new screenshot with F3 enabled.
