Edit: Is this forum just for crash reports? Because I am not sure, otherwise - since my problem didn't involve a crash - why I haven't gotten any sort of response. If it is not a serious enough issue, then you can delete this topic. As I stated, below, I am new to MC and to the forum; I tried to follow posting rules, but if I have done something wrong, I apologize. Thank you.
I recently began a new world, and after playing for several hours, found that, if I placed or dropped a block or item, when I picked it back up I got at least double the amount of that block or item, sometimes more. I had a full shulker box containing everything I collected while exploring, and after I set it down to retrieve something, then picked it back up, I had two shulker boxes in my inventory, both containing all the items in the original box!
Now, some people might think this is a glorious thing, but I don't. There is no fun in everything coming so easily...no challenge, no "aha!" moment when you find diamonds, etc. So I would like to resolve this.
Mining was not affected by duplication, but toward the end (it was a marathon mining session) my torches, which I was picking up as I left the mine, were returning two and three for each one I picked up.
The only off thing that I could find was several lines of text in the log, "[Client thread/WARN]: Something's taking too long! 'root.gameRenderer.level' took aprox 120.417608 ms". Everything else in the log was identical to the other logs. This line repeated approximately 40-50 times. There was no crash, just rabid duplication, and nothing else was amiss with my game play.
Optifine is the only mod I am using
Minecraft Version: 1.11.2
OS: Windows Vista 64 bit (8 year old rig!)
CPU: 2x Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series
Optifine Version: 1.11.2_HD_U_B7
Java Version: 8
I did a search (Google and this forum), but only came up with ways to utilize some "duplication glitch" and something about mod-item duplication. Btw, I am new to Minecraft, and to the forum, but I do a lot of reading and try to resolve things on my own. Please forgive me if I have missed anything. Thank you.
Other that the latest Optifine, I am not using any mods, but I thought that, since Optifine is technically considered a "mod", that negates problems with MC being reportable to Mojang. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I will submit the report to Mojang at the address you provided, and see what happens. Optifine or not, the doubling problem seems to be an anomaly, and I think they should know about it. It is annoying, and dampens the enjoyment of my game (especially the ubiquitous crafting tables!).
Thank you very much for responding to my request for help.
