Good day. A few minutes ago i loaded a fully vinella version of minecraft attempting to load default, large, and amplified world types all of which would either lag extensively or just crash all together. I'm running vanilla 1.8.1 in complete full screen mode on a high end pc containing a locked intel core i7 4790, a ZOTAC GTX 970 and 16GB Adata xpg v2 ram running at 1866mhz, so I'm confident that its not a problem with my pc. Im wandering if there's an optimization bug in version 1.8/1.8.1 or if there may be an issue with the custom java build mojang has been developing for Minecraft. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

I am very sorry about this, but someone on the Suggestions posted a thread about how to improve your Minecraft performance and I lost the thread.
I'll let you know if I find it again, or if anyone has it.
i really don't think its a performance issue. i have a kickass gaming pc that can max out almost any game at 1080p. so i promise its not a performance issue. i even tried using optifine and it didn't make a difference. on top of that. i wasn't getting these performance issues in 1.8 until just today. I'm very confident that its a performance bug.

Minecraft 1.8 is very poorly optimised. This isn't the first thread about it.

Due to 1.8's new rendering system, it's now really a mixed bag of performance. For most computers it lags (And sometimes it goes borderline unplayable, like me for instance), while others it runs better than 1.8's snapshots and earlier. Also, its memory usage can skyrocket sometimes. Maybe you changed how much memory it uses or changed its settings?

well that's a bummer. guess i wont be getting back on till mojang fixes these optimization issues.

You can always use 1.7.10 in the meantime.

If you are planning to play modded (which I really recommend you to try), you could download the mod Gany's Surface, which contains a lot of 1.8 features.

i normally play modded but sometimes it's nice to get on good old vanilla.
