Everything worked fine in my old 1.5.2 Minecraft. After I updated to 1.7.10 the game just broke.
The game seems to take forever to register any action, like if I was playing on a server with a ping around 3000-4000. When I click with my sword in hand to kill a chicken it takes up to 5 seconds for it to be show dead on screen, and another 5 seconds for me to pick up the loot.
That happens with all my interactions with the world (mining, opening fences, etc).
I'm getting good FPS (never below 20) and my computer is overkill for minecraft (i5 2500k, Radeon HD6950 2Gb).
What can I do to solve it? I've already tried reloading the game.
It only happen on my main saved game and when I'm near my animal farm and village (around ~500 entities).
It seems that the 1.7.10 version with this new launcher is having problems handling large amount of animals crowded togheter. Thats just a total mess. It worked just fine on 1.5.2.
Is there a fix for it? Come on, Mojang, do more testing before releasing your "stable" releases that just breaks the game.

I guess the only solution is to kill half of them, at least until Mojang fix it. I'll do it by my sword.
Do optifine helps with this kind of issue? I thought they only helped increase FPS, and thats not my problem right now.
