I have been searching everywhere but i have not been able to find how to install mcedit filters on a mac. I know there is another thread regarding this topic but the youtube video provided is no longer available.
Sorry to bother you so late after your post, but i seemed to have run into a problem. I put the filters into the folder, and when i go back they are still there, but they don't show up in mcedit. All i have are the default filters.
To put filters in your MCEdit in mac just click mcedit then click show package contents inside you must click
MCEdit-(something) then click mcedit again inside the folder then click show package content inside click contents then resources then finally the filter folder place your filter in their.
Hey guys, to get the filters in Mac you do the following....
Go to the McEdit app and right click, select "Show Package Content", this will open up whats inside the app file (2 folders: Contents & McEdit)
Open the McEdit folder and then right click the McEdit app again and click "Show Package Content", this time you will see one folder called contents....
go to contents - Resources - filters
then just paste them in there.....to access this again quicker next time just make a shortcut link on your desktop or drag filters folder over to the sidebar and make a link there.
thats fine always happy to help, i might actually make a video showing how to do it later tomorrow but for now.....
stupid noob question but are you putting them in the correct version of MCEdit, its just that when you upgrade your version it create a new folder with a new version in it meaning that all your filters are lost (well in the other folder but not connected anymore), i only found this out today after i updated and realized they weren't there.
So (from my folder layout) i now have the following....
Go to the McEdit app and right click, select "Show Package Content", now there are 3 folders (appdata, contents & updates)
Go to appdata - and open the folder for the newest version (for me its MCEdit_dev-0.1.7build379.macosx-10_6-x86_64)
Right click MCEdit_dev and select "Show Package Content"
then its the same steps as before....
go to contents - Resources - filters and pate the filters in there.
now reopen MCEdit and you "should" have the filters available.
if not let me know and i'll still be putting out a video but i'll see if i can recreate the issue.....i'll also link the video when its up.
Thank you, MunkyCraft. This really helped. Now I can finally color my command block text again!

This is not working for me using both MCEdit version 1.7.1 and the latest development build. There was no Filters folder and so I tried manually creating the Filters folder to see if that would work.
The entire contents of my resources folder is:
__boot__.py
__error__.py
include (folder)
lib (folder)
mcedit.icns
site.py
site.pyc
sit.pyo
I can not find that folder
there is no mcedit folder on a mac. Just the application itself
this will help very much.
MCEdit-(something) then click mcedit again inside the folder then click show package content inside click contents then resources then finally the filter folder place your filter in their.

/Applications/MCEdit.app/MCEdit-0.1.7.1.macosx-10_6-x86_64/MCEdit.app/Contents/Resources/filters
However, "MCEdit-0.1.7.1.macosx-10_6-x86_64" might be named something else, depending on which version you're using.
