Bug: No curved rails

Minecraft Forge

Voxelmap
I've run into a strange problem where when I place down rails, any rails, even those that would curve normally, they can only go horizontal or vertical. No curving rails.
And this is on singleplayer. I've tried restarting Minecraft, and switching from creative to survival. No good.
Also, this is not a graphical glitch, I tested it with a minecart. Upon hitting the place where the two rails were supposed to meet, I went off the rails immediately.
If it means anything, I was playing on a SuperFlat world. Any ideas?
EDIT: Okay, it works in vanilla, but not in Forge. Forge is version 10.12.0.999.
Also, I know there's newer updates, but trying to get it direct off the Forge website is throwing me an Adfly loop that doesn't ever actually throw me the download.
EDIT 2: Found a way around. Updating Forge fixed the problem.
