Help i was downloading forge for 1.6.2 and i screwed up my .json file
All the lettering is messed up so i deleted my .minecraft folder and redownloaded everything. Now in my versions it says 1.6.2 for the jar and 1.6.2 for the .json instead of 1.6.2.json. I cant download any mods and would really appreciate any help
Seriously. You DELETED YOUR MINECRAFT AND REDOWNLOADED IT?! For a thing that is easily fixed? Next time, just copy a neighbouring .json and put it into the new folder. go in and change the version to 1.6.2 and then redo the changes.
I dont have a neighboring ,json or at least im not aware of it...Can you tell me how to find it?
So first of all if you messed up your json file, delete the profile your where using for forge. Create a new profile, and give it a version of your choosing. That will be your regular minecraft profile, not forge. It will also serve as backup files in case you mess up on a json file, or anything else at any other time. Now forge has a installer at the forge site under files. Just install that and run, then go to profiles and select the forge one. That's your new forge profile, you can install mods into the jar file like you regularly would by going into .minecraft, version, then the profile name. There should be a jar.
