So I realize as I'm typing this that posting a cry for help as my first post on a forum is probably a very noob-ish thing to do, but here goes nothing.
(Backstory)
So about a month ago I became the proud owner of my very own server. I had also recently discovered Skyblock, and I fell in love. I had my server up for a few weeks, and then I found out that in order to have Skyblock for my server, I needed Bukkit. I got and set up Bukkit, and it was great for a few weeks. So then I had it up while I went on vacation. While me and some friends (5 of us in total) were playing, the server suddenly crashed. I couldn't do anything except wait in vain, so when I came back home, not only had my server crashed, but both of my servers refused to function, Vanilla and Bukkit alike. I then went to my laptop and set up a server, and all was well, so today, I wanted to get a Bukkit server up too, (Hindsight being 20-20, I should have been happy with what I had.) Then I got Bukkit, made the "Run.bat" file, and the "Java is not recognized as an internal or external command...." message appeared, so I thought, "Crap, this stinks." So I went online and researched an answer to my dilemma. The most popular solution was to re-install Java. So, I went ahead and got Java 7 version 17. It wouldn't work. So then I looked up solutions to that problem, and I had to uninstall all other versions of Java, which seemed kinda sketchy, but alright. Now my Minecraft refuses to boot up, and gives me a message like, "This program requires Java "R" something Environment 1.5.0 to run." (Beware of ultimate noobage moment ahead!) So when that didn't work, apparently I had to edit my PATH and CLASSSPATH. Worst decision of my life. So after I realized I was heading into a never-ending spiral of complete computer darkness, I decided to perform a system restore to drag me out of the computer spiral of never-ending darkness, but to not much avail. Here ends my tragic story of losing 2 servers, Minecraft and Java all in the same day. Anybody like to top that?
(Problem in a nutshell)
-Server didn't work
-I edited PATH and CLASSPATH variables
-I system restored
-Servers, Minecraft, and Java don't work
Anybody care to take pity on a poor, Minecraft-deprived soul like me?
Thank you greatly in advance.
1 - Skyblock doesn't need Bukkit. Never did. Dunno where you got that from.
2 - Not entirely your fault. Java IS a huge pain in the *ss to set up. the kind of thing you set up once and then forget ever existed. (You are now learning through the hard way the reason of such. Welcome to the area of software companies that are an ultimate pain to mess with. mind the multiple attempts, and remember to never mess with them again if you're not ABSOLUTELY SURE that you know exactly what you're doing.)
3 - You think messing with class and classpath is a bad move? You have no idea how dangerous ".Bat" files can be.
4 - There are two basic rules for Java that you should always follow to the core:
A - NEVER, EVER, mess with them once you get them working.
(BONUS! - C?) I've been also told repeatedly that you can only have one version of java installed, but I can't confirm it to you, since I have two entirely different versions myself and everything is working just fine.
(Solution in a Nutshell:)
- Uninstall ALL your Javas, Check if your System is 32 or 64 Bits, And install the Appropriate J.R.E. or J.D.K. from the link I passed you. (You might want to research the difference between both to take your pick, but rest assured both will work equally for you.)
- Double check you only have a single Java version Installed
- Force your Minecraft to Update, Delete and Redownload your servers and Bukkit from scratch

B - NEVER, EVER download a Java Software, if not from HERE: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html (Yes, you're reading it right. Even downloading from the Official java website itself would be a bad idea.

- Test it all.
- Tell me how it went.
Have a nice day.
And I was running two versions of Java, and 64 bit does work better than 32 bit.
Oh my goodness thank you!. CenSiver, you are an amazing person.
