So I was in the settings and I changed the game to fullscreen, never done that before, and then all of a sudden, it went blank, and i thought it was going but then it took forever, so I closed the game. I started it back up and when I logged it tried to enter fullscreen mode and it keeps crashing. Any ideas? I'm trying to see a way for me to change the options through files, but even tho I found the file for options I didnt see a "fullscreen" line. Please Help so I can change it back to windowedd
Edit: I also tried restarting, and redownloading but those didnt work
Sorry, didn't work D:, i need to find some way to change the options from the outside i think
I was having this same problem this morning. I muddled around with it, finally found it.
Go to your .minecraft folder. If you're on Windows, you'll probably have to do the whole %appdata% to pull it up. Once you open it, there's a notepad text document labeled "Options". Open that up, and change to value for fullscreen from true to false. Save the document, exit it. Start up Minecraft and you should be good to go. You may want to force an update from the login screen afterwards to be on the safe side.
I did all this and it cleared up for me instantly. Hope this helps.

ONLY TRY MINE IF HIS FIX DIDN'T WORK.
It depends on your Screen RES I found this out trying out my tv hooked up to my computer.
I had my Res on : 1440 x 900. Tried to get into Fullscreen for Minecraft wouldn't work. I searched Google for about 3 hours that day trying to find a fix I never could.
Then I remembered that I had changed my Res from 1280 x 960 and changed it back to that. Now I can Go fullscreen by hitting either F11 or turning on the Fullscreen option in the main game interface.
So my fix for Windows would be changing your res down a little bit.
Hope this helped. Thanks (:
