So, whenever I try to play any game that requires Java (I.E., MineCraft in browser), I get a white screen and a message in red text saying,
"Error. Click for details,". After clicking on the screen, a window pops up saying: ClassNotFoundException

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Java 7 a ton of times, system restores, and virus scans among other things, none had any effect.
Please note, whenever I attempt to use the MC launcher on my desktop, absolutely nothing happens. The icon responds, then acts as though the window was closed before it was opened.
My system specs:
64-Bit OS
Windows 7
M14X Alienware Model
8.00 GB RAM
Java 7
I am completely experienced with Java, so please don't load me with technical jargon regarding Java. Any help short of kill it with fire or delete windows and the like would be appreciated.
Right. Sound like a silly question, but are you using 64-bit Java?
Do you have the problem if you download the launcher and log in from there?
I've tried using just 32-bit, just 64-bit, and 32 and 64-bit together. No different results. And at this point, the launcher gives me the "Can't connect to Minecraft.net" error message, but I can play offline.
What's strange is that when I try playing it online, I get ClassNotFoundException, despite the fact I can play offline via the launcher.
