Hi
My 7 year old loves minecraft and I have just set him up with his own user login on my iMac as he is starting to understand a little too much about how to look stuff up on google etc. Now that I have set up his user account with parental controls in place which only allows certain website including minecraft.net when I click on the application to load the game it says that there is no authorisation for https://::ffff:23.23.149.199 and asks if I want to add this to the allowed websites, I say yes and authorise with my administrator password but then it tells me that this website has been added and I need to reload and it will allow it but each time I try I get the same question asking to add it etc and end up going around in circles. Can anyone please help me to get minecraft working with parental controls in place and only allowing specific websites, not just any.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry I'm just a basic computer person and not sure how to check what servers I'm using? Sorry, can you let me know how I can check. And thanks for replying - I hope I can get this sorted!
Tried adding those two websites with the asterisks but still no luck - it always refers to the 23.23.149.199 site which I have added yet still doesn't allow.
Yeah, I'm having the same issue this end, even if the controls are turned off completly , which makes no sense, any ideas to fix it? this is how I currently feel :
If the controls are completely disabled, there's no reason for Minecraft to be blocked. Are you sure there aren't any third-party parental control applications running?

Actually, you should try updating OSX. Apple released a patch for Mountain Lion that supposably fixes issues in the parental control options related to https filters.
