After the update I noticed that when I take items out of chests, after a few seconds they dissapear from my inventory and end up back in the chest. I also noticed that when I dig down there appears to be a glitch where the block makes the sound like it's been broken, but then it re-appears and the screen jumps back up. I went through a couple of pages of support threads and didn't see this problem reported. Please advise, thank you!
It's definitely not a speed problem on my end. Ping 24ms, Download speed 25.52 Mbps, Upload speed 0.98 Mbps. I didn't have the problem before the update.

Do you experience any other issues with lag? For myself, I experience the same things that you are, but I also occasionally experience general gameplay lag and/or rubberbanding. I'm running 1.3.1 and on an older machine - Windows XP Pro SP3 Tablet PC, Mobile Centrino, 2 Gigs RAM.
What I find odd is that where I might retreat back a step when walking on occasion (lag is fairly on-time and real-time), when my inventory lags out, it may take up to a full minute or two for my game to decide to lag my inventory action and so I have climbed out of a ravine (Chest was in a room in a ravine) after having swapped out my inventory and suddenly, as I exit the ravine, my inventory (including my hotbar items if I changed those) may suddenly change back to what it was before.
Furthermore, though my inventory lagged, my avatar's other actions (like climbing out of the ravine and walking on the ground) did not.
I honestly don't think it's lag. I'm running 16GB of ram and my internet connection has a dl speed of over 25Mbps. Does the technical team for this game read these forums? I'm wondering why there has been no reply from any sort of moderator. Is there another way I should be reporting these problems?

the moderators here are not employed by mojang they just run the forums out of the kindness of their hearts, best bet would be to file a bug report about the issue
Saw this topic. I had a mouse that double right-clicked every time. The same thing OP mentions was happening to me. Two days ago I bought a new mouse. It hasn't happened since. Perhaps, chests break when your mouse double right clicks.

The problem was the same for me, and my mouse also double right-clicked everytime. I just bought a new mouse, and the problem is over! Thanks FoxKicks, I was starting to get really angry with my chests ahuahuah
Try to ping the server
Open CMD then type
And post your results and also do a speedtest and post Ping, download and upload speeds http://speedtest.net
