Some sound that triggers when a tree turns from a shrub to a tree (so it would only happen from trees you planted). Could just be that generic tree growing/cracking sound.
Perhaps he thinks that for some reason being that the trees grow alot faster than they do IRL, we need an annoying sound when we're near them as they grow from sapling to tree.
I's say no...I have many saplings planted outside of my house...this will get annoying as ****.
It's funny that his argument is that "it isn't realistic" when the trees already grow instantly and from practically nothing.
I wonder if he has trees that switch from being saplings to being full grown in a split-second, and after waiting only a couple days? It seems like if that did happen, it would certainly make creaking, cracking, and groaning noises when it did.
The real reason is that people need to stop "needing this" and "needing that". Notch spoils us enough. We don't need sounds to tell us our trees are done cooking, that would just make it so people couldn't be bothered enough to simply turn around and check themselves. It's not that hard, I do it all of the time and I never found any problems with it.
and you're just butthurt because i didn't adore your food suggestion rad =P
are you implying that IRL trees, growing slowly, groan?
your idea is poison.
How about every time wheat reaches a new stage in growth, it screeches like wheat would when growing?
why do you want this implemented? to add slightly more useless lag?
I understood it as it would tell you when your sapling turned in to useable wood, so that you wouldn't have to keep checking back. But how dare I think about his suggestion and make my own conclusion, instead of immediately attcking him for his evil, poisonous idea. What was I thinking?
Should be pretty trivial to put in.

It's probably just a bad reason...
