i dont think villages are a good idea i mean its taking away the whole point of being the only surviver if anything he should add tribes with tents and indians and non-advanced buildings that you would make because all you have to do is make a bed and thats it if a creeper blows up a house move to the next theres even a premade crop?
and those damn testicle people that look like bert off of sesame street wtf. to me villages are a waste of blocks :Flint and Steel: + = :cool.gif:
but what if i want to keep ravine, dungeons, mountains(ect.)
You will have to deal without them if you really hate NPC villages. Why should Mojang get rid of stuff everone else likes just because you don't? If you don't like them, don't interact with them. And they are still a work in progress (hence the beta minecraft label.)
Guys dont you think the villages are like cheating basicly i dont mind the npcs im talking about surviving point in minecraft somebody can just walk around find a village and live there alright find a place to live check..and it already has a crop to...come on

Considering that the Testificates aren't survivors, they are simply native beings, I don't see your point. Christopher Columbus didn't go, "These natives must go!" when he discovered America.
Oh wait, he did.
Look what happened then. :|
If you don't like it, you can simply turn the structures off. Your problem will be solved. :smile.gif:

Life is not measured in the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

And finding a perfectly set up cave isn't cheating?
My very first world, the DAY I started playing, I found an entirely closed in, circular cave, with two blocks removed -- perfect for a door. I added a single torch on the inside, two blocks of dirt in the "doorway", BAM. Instant shelter. I didn't have to do squat, the world generated it for me.
If villages are cheating, so is every cave that can be habitable in a naturally generated world.

Why would it be cheating? Just because the building are already there means it's not surviving? Keep in mind these villages aren't just everywhere. They are hard to find.
They aren't all that advanced, they only really have materials you can get from the beginning of the game anyways, and the point of villages is that you can live in one, notch worked months trying to make it so it was possible to live in one easily.
Guys, turning off structures takes out ALL buildings and dungeons that are made while creating the world, which means strongholds, NPC Villages, Nether Fortresses, Dungeons, etc.

■"Ok guys, listen up. We're on a top secret mission to get coffee and donuts, problem is the Germans drank all the coffee and ate all the donuts, so now we gotta go kick their asses." Random CoD 3 phrase

1. The villages are pretty scattered. You don't START in a village. Most of the time by the time you find a village, you already have your own base. How is a village reducing the difficulty of the game? It's a bunch of wood blocks (Also known as trees) and some crops.

Yeah, houses are fairly advanced. The villagers should all sleep on top of each other in a pile and eat grass... don't forget, that should be the only thing our character can do also..

2- Use a texture pack that transforms testificates into pigmen or creepermen or whatever you want.
3- Villagers will probably have a different skin on a later update anyway.

Just don't use them for a home. Problem solved!
