but I don't want to load 1.5.2; I want 1.6.2. And your video is very hard to read. It goes way too quickly. And it's noisy.

My YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.c...er/GrannyGamer1 There's no wrong way to play MineCraft. Here, we'll discuss tactics, strategies, making the game accessible to people with disabilities.
Why do we need to go through this Magic Launcher (which could be used to steal user/pass), Forge, etc. Just make one executable that we can drag and drop and be done with it. I only ever got OptiFine working on MineCraft 1.5.2 one time. Reinstalled several times after a few hours got it to work. Did everything the same it seems to be hit or miss with these mods. Shame really, because when it does work it is excellent.

If you are like me and you prefer just modifying the jar file (the old fashioned way).
1) Download the optifine .jar file.
2) Open optifine.jar and minecraft.jar with winrar or 7zip.
3) Delete any folders named META-INF.
4) Click and drag the contents of the optifine jar into your minecraft jar.
If you are still having trouble you can watch this:
Optifine official thread - http://www.minecraft...e__hl__ optfine
To make the mods folder appear you have to run minecraft with forge downloaded
