With the arrival of new villagers, our lost wanderer has found himself with the beginnings of a town. Practicality comes first, so the next building is...
I'm only on Episode 8 right now, because I've been so busy with schooling, but I continue to love it. Your series is really relaxing for me to watch after a long day of studying and extracirricular activities. Thank you for the amazing content! Keep up the good work! 😀
Also, I have one quick question. Did you choose the seed before starting WanderingOtaku's Missing In Minecraft or were you just extremely lucky? I've only found two legit mushroom biomes in my Minecraft career, and that's saying something, considering how long I've played. That doesn't include Creative worlds, though. And a village, desert temple, and underwater temple all within half a kilometer of spawn! That's really something!
Thank you! I am glad you're able to enjoy it. It's been an interesting process, trying to do something a bit different than a normal Let's Play.
I have a new one being posted in a few minutes! Though you'll have a few more episodes to get through before getting to it lol.
As for the seed, I believe this one ended up being a random one. But, truthfully, I tried many different seeds that I found on the internet and random seeds before going with this one that I kind of am blurring it all together.
I've finally caught up with the rest of this series, as I've just finished Episode 20! It seems to me that what makes this series unique from the others I've watched is that this is the only vanilla role play I've found on YouTube. There are a few modded ones out there, but this series might be the first purely vanilla RP I've found on YouTube. I love the use of Spectator Mode to create those camera shifts and effects, as I've never seen anything like it in an LP before. In the past few episodes, I've noticed that the sense of "unawareness" that Otaku has of the world of Minecraftia brings back the nostalgic feeling s of when I watched paulsoaresjr's tutorial series back in 2012. This story keeps getting better and better! Keep it up!
Thank you! I'm glad you've caught up. I liked the idea of doing things vanilla rather than modded. There's a lot to do in Vanilla without having to add in a whole bunch of mods to it. Nothing against people that use mods, though. I just felt doing this in Vanilla would be best.
The character was an interesting one to figure out. I didn't want him to be clueless about the world (like some sort of person from another world plopped in here) but I also didn't want him to know how to do everything and to learn. This kind of mirrors out of character, as I haven't explored everything Minecraft has to offer (though as of yet I've not done anything new) so I'm excited to get to some of the newer stuff that was added... whenever that happens. Don't want to rush into them!
Keep on watching, I've got a lot of story left to tell. and thanks again.
I forgot that coal spawned in dungeon chests until now! And about that golden apple, did you spawn those chunks when golden apples were rarer or was that common loot at that point?
Mods can be fun in my opinion when I play with packs with a smaller amount of them or when I compile my own custom "pack", but huge FTB and other packs either add more mods than I'd ever be able to play with in one Minecraft world(FTB Monster, etc.) or they overcomplicate survival to the point where I really don't want to play them(Blood and Bones, especially). But I will always go back to Vanilla, and I usually keep my vanilla worlds longer than modded ones for those very reasons.
And to be honest, I haven't been playing the most recent versions for that long either, and I'm unfamiliar with a lot of them too. It's better to take things one step at a time, no matter how much people want to see new things. It's more fun that way, and you appreciate them more when you wait for them.
Everything in the chests were already there. In fact, I didn't even know the spawner was there at all until I got to it, so it was a neat surprise. I only scout out where certain places are that I want to go to, and then let the discovery happen as I explore while recording.
And yeah, I agree that most mod packs make Minecraft way too over complicated for me. I enjoy playing Minecraft mostly as is. I used to use a minimap mod, and an inventory organizer mod (InvTweaks) but I've since just dropped all of them and kept pure Vanilla. Having too many non vanilla options
For the videos the only mod I have is ReplayMod so that I can get the 3rd person shots without having to stop recording. It's been a godsend not having to use two accounts, and take the extra time to set up shots.
Sorry I took so long to respond to this video! I've been busy with the last few weeks of school and haven't had the time! I like where you're going with the trials and the storyline though, and I'm excited about what else you may have in store!
