Today we start the custom cliff around Sanctuary and build the skyscraper shell for the Villager Trading Center! And Notch gives us a cryptic message... It's a EPIC episode, peeps! Show it some love! I hope you enjoy it and may you be happy and well! =^)
Minecraft's Terms of Use (https://minecraft.net/terms) states "...you are allowed to put ads on your YouTube videos containing Minecraft footage, you're free to do whatever you want with screenshots and videos of the game," under "What You Can Do".
I have to admit, that was an amazing episode! The skyscraper was a neat design, and the cliff with waterfalls. The cliff is bigger than I thought you would make it, it certainly will take a while to build that completely around sanctuary. You asked if you should encompass the lake with the cliff first or add details to what you already have. I would recommend surrounding your base first otherwise that section of cliff may be slightly more detailed than the rest because you would focus on that bit more than the whole cliff, whereas doing the whole cliff first you would apply equally as much detail to each part after the cliff was finished. What are your plans for the side of the cliff facing away from sanctuary? will it be a cliff on both sides or would you try to make a steady slope to the forest floor from the top? How would the water 'travel' to the top of the cliff to form the waterfall? you also asked about the lag in your video, I barely noticed it.
I think you're the best survival builder in minecraft already, just looking at what you already built. I enjoy watching your videos, they always inspire my imagination.

Thanks for everything, Nyscole! =^) So I agree with wrapping the cliff all the way around before detailing it, but for it it's for immersion sake. Having that piece of cliff there just kills the immersion and will continue to do so until it's finished. The section facing away from sanctuary will be opposing cliffs that the water will run out of. Had I planned it a little better I would've raise the terrain a bit and let that area be a waterfall running from the lake into a river below, but I missed that train. Instead it will be a river that I'll extend out for a ways, possibly out of render distance if I can manage it. But that's far off project for when we get to the finishing touches. As for where the water from the water falls will come from, it's going to vary (there will be many water falls). Eventually I'm going to expand the cliffs so that you can be on top of them and have things to explore and check out outside of the city. It will be custom biome project and some of our farms might be in those areas as well. The ultimate goal, if I think I'm up for it (again, this is a far off project) is to actually do the other side of the cliffs and create a mountain formation so that people who download the map can explore the terrain completely and with total immersion! That's the dream, anyway. So there will be ponds up there from which streams emerge and flow to the water falls. I'm also toying with the idea of having floating islands so that water can fall from those, into the ponds, through the streams, to the waterfalls, into the lake, and exit to the river. I had a floating island for my previous big base project and loved it. But I'm just not sure if it would fit here or not.... Maybe? =^)

"that's a big goal. if you accomplish that you would become a god to minecraft! the pick of destiny certainly is in good hands."
Wow! lol, I don't know about that. The Minecraft world is a big one, after all! But I try to go all out like this because, for one I'm inspired by guys like GoodTimesWithScar who does stuff like this, and also because I feel like it's going to be the only way to grow an audience as a Minecraft LPer, which is pretty much the only thing I want to do on YouTube. I hope that the episodes are big enough that when someone stumbles onto it, they're impressed and hopefully get hooked. And I do hope it inspires people the way I've been inspired, and that even if my audience remains small forever, that at least they will remember it as being something that was really cool. =^) Thanks so much for all the support, Nyscole! You really made my day today! =^)
