LP threads are not for asking for support, posts asking for support with mods will be removed. Support issues should go in the Support Section or be asked in the Mods Section if it is mod related in whatever applicable mod thread it may have.
If this topic becomes a place just for mod support it will be locked. Lets play threads are for showcasing videos, that it all.

Not to challenge your authority but I'd like some clarification. If the support required is based on something that the Let's Play author has done in the video and people are trying to duplicate, would that truely be an issue to go to mod support? The people there aren't going to know the context nor the underlying set up of the issue. In most cases here where people have asked for support, there isn't anything generally wrong with the mod, just the implementation of something specific. I doubt the mod authors are going to appreciate people coming in, saying that something doesn't work, only to turn out that it was caused because someone didn't load the right version of a program or set up a block in the right place. Wouldn't that belong here, where people who have seen the video can assist?
If the answer is no, that's fine. I just wanted to be clear on the policies that are being enforced.

As a mere forum member with no authority, I would hope that that would be fair game for this thread - "how did this Youtuber get that build to work" is very much one of the things that I would expect this thread would be for.
I might be wrong for posting this here and if so I apologize for it, but has anyone else had crashing issues with this lets play? I would say my game crashes about every 1/2 hour or so and sometimes more then that. Also deletes my map file from the play list even though the file is still in the folder (assuming it corrupts the file) and does so so often that Im creating a backup for it about every hour of play. I have done pretty much everything the way he has but have made a few things bigger like my treee farm and mana bean farm. I know without a crash log its almost impossible to troubleshoot but I was just wondering if Im alone here or if there is something I can do about all the crashes. I'll post the crash log in another post the next time it happens.
I updated to Direwolf20 (1.6.x) 1.0.20 and now the mini map is not working. I have tried the hotkeys ("n" & "m") that before worked and nothing happens. Does anyone know why my mini map is not working?
The pack comes with at least three different minimap mods. Are you sure the one you usually use is enabled? There's a tab in the launcher for customizing the pack and enabling whichever minimap mod you want.
I'm no expert, but this should be most of the pages:
Void; Single biome; Mushroom biome
Zero length; Noon; Sun
Void; Moon
Void; Stars
Oh god, no.
"Void", which I think is now "Void terrain", is a terrain controller. Only one.
All modifiers go before what they modify. "Single biome" is the biome controller, and it takes a list of biomes as a modifier.
So
void terrain, mushroom biome, single biome
zero length, noon, sun
dark stars
dark moon
caves, caves --- no effect, but should prevent tendrils, spheres, or floating islands
... you still risk a populator putting something into the world, but I'm not really sure what to do about that. Perhaps an explicit "surface lakes" or "strongholds", I think those would have the least affect.

How does that "linkbook removal" system work? I don't understand how you manage to steal the linkbooks out of the inventory of people who arrive in your age.
If you are planning on letting any "friendly" people in, be aware that if they ever can get access to a piece of leather, a piece of paper, and either your ink mixer, or a moment alone to put an ink mixer down on the ground, then a linkbook into your "safe" base will exist, and your security will be compromised.

Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?

I was just wondering, does anyone know what happened to minecraft 1.3 because when I see stuff, dire did a LP in mc 1.2.5 (season 4) and then in mc 1.4.7 (season 5) and on the ftb launcher there are packs of 1.2.5 and 1.4.7 and later but I can't seem to find anything like a 1.3.x mod or mod pack. did the modding community just pause for a mc version or what did it do?
It seems to me that the odd-numbered minor versions (1.3.x, 1.5.x, 1.7.x) have major internal changes, and the even numbers stabilize and build on those changes with new features. So the odd numbers are both more difficult for modders, and less attractive to users. This may not be a deliberate policy, but it seems to be how things turn out.
Then there might be something wrong with my launcher or is it just me :/ ?
Have you clicked on the version dropdown? It might not be the "recommended" version so you have to opt in to it. Looks like 1.0.19 is the recommended one right now.
Build a Tinker's Construct hammer and do branch mining at the height of the ores you are in need of.
Once you have enough then you can switch over to the buildcraft quarry, the ender quarry, or the Thaumcraft Arcane Bore without too much trouble...

When can we also get the new stuff dire?
