The Blaze Experience Grinder or B.E.G. - rev 3 and 4(Final)
End results for best exp mob in game to grind ...
With version 4 I got an avg of 3.2 kills for every 1 kill in version 3.
With version 3 I got an exact double kill rate vs my version 2 (In the LP).
You do not need a double spawner to have awesome results, but it allows for almost no down time. While killing at 1, the other spawner is maxing out, rinse repeat. Please note, stay with in 16 blocks for the spawners to remain active.
I've been looking for a current working blazespawner trap to collect experience and items at the same time. Nothing out there really answered what I was looking for. I appreciate this video! Thanks and I hope you make more tutorials.
An update: I built this on the multi-player SMP server I play on. It is a 19.5 pre release Bukkit server, as far as I know. The Blazes all spawn as they should, however, I can't manage to hit them with a sword. I can kill them with snowballs and with a bow and arrow, but no matter what I do I can't hit them with a sword. Strangely, they don't drop any xp either although they do drop Blaze rods.
I tried building an identical grinder in my Creative mode single player world and the grinder worked beautifully, sword and all.
Has anyone else tried building this on a multi-player server? How has it worked out for you?
I would really appreciate an answer on this. I just made one step by step as your video has shown but I cannot seem to hit any with my sword. Any ideas?
Neat idea for the blaze Exp grinder... problem is I'm having the same problem as the others in the thread. I can't hit them with my sword. I may try rearranging things, but as designed, its a great idea if it would still work.
After some testing, it would appear to be some kind of issue with SMP. I built the same design in Creative mode Single Player and it works as desired. Switched to a vanilla test server, switched my user to creative mode and built another and it doesn't work as desired.
This worked awesomely well for me. I'm on SMP 1.2.4 and hitting the bottom with a sword worked fine for me. Weird.
But this is an incredible way to safely get exp and blaze rods, thank you so much! :3
I figured out a more efficient way to handle the space between blaze stalls. Instead of the fence gate you can place a half slab on the floor and ceiling making it easy for you to walk in and pick up the drops but NO blazes can spawn. Unlike the fence gates that have chance for a spawn while they are open, NO blazes spawn here.

I've made quite a few grinders using the half steps between the slots and its working great, I can walk in but they dont spawn there.

Thank you and I'm glad it helped you.
Doing this tutorial was so different then filming my LP. It was a challenge but I enjoyed doing it!

I built a blaze grinder on my server this evening and cannot hit them with a sword at all. =(
