It's good to know that mushrooms can survive in a maximum light level of 12, which is 2 spaces away from a torch.
Mushrooms can spread up to 2 spaces away (can be through a wall).
Mushrooms can grow in a stair step pattern. Up or Down.
Red Mushrooms spread faster than the Brown Mushrooms.
Mushrooms can be mass picked up, using water.
Mushrooms spread significantly faster when the blocks surrounding it are on the same level. (Takes longer to grow using stair step pattern)
I still don't know if having a Netherrack floor helps the spread rate or not.
Or whether the spread rate changes between worlds.
I go into that sized room like 20 times and make it load the chunk and nothing spawns.
The second I make a vid and put it on youtube something spawns in there. D<
Try a 9x13 and have a have some redstone torches hanging from the ceiling in the middle.

Yeah, I was kinda expecting that. I was going to say that redstone isn't quite bright enough to prevent spawning except where it's placed.

Watch it here:
As long as there is a space next to the mushroom for it to spread, any size will work.
Alright , thanks!:biggrin.gif:
No problem. ^^

My boyfriend just got done telling me that. o.e
I must find a way to make it work better.... xD
Just gonna load the chunk a good many times and see if any monsters spawn in it.
