What recording and editing software do pro youtubers use such as Pewdiepie, Chimneyswift11, AntVenom, Captainsparklez, etc use because im looking to start a lets play series when my computer is finished (4 parts away... soo excitied!)
Well, most use FRAPS, but sadly, all pro-youtubers have good computers, which provide them with a steady FPS. If your computer is not really very good at FPS managing, you might want to use either bandicam, or camstudio. This is because sometimes fraps can cut off when the fps you are recording is higher than the FPS your game is going on.
As for editing, most pro-youtubers use SonyVegas, but it is quite expensive. If your just going to do some light editing, like cutting scenes, you might want to use a free one, such as wax 2.0, or Virtual dub. I personally use Wax 2.0 as it is easy and simple to use, allow lacks the power of a professional one, such as Vegas, of adobe.
I use Adobe Premiere Pro. Sony Vegas as previously stated is a great option. Both are also expensive. If you want something cheaper you can try Pinnacle Studio, however, from experience at least in my computer it wasn't very stable and for some reason crashed often or the more HD videos I putted in the slower and more resource intensive it became. If you want to go even cheaper than that (free) you can go to my software list. It has a bunch of programs that are absolutely free.
One. Fraps does NOT cut off when your fps is lower than what your recording at, I have an intel HD graphics 3000 gpu(its got 64 mbs of video ram ;P) and I can record minecraft at a full 60 fps with fraps, fraps take the littlest amount of cpu.gpu power that a recorder can take, also bandicam eats through your pc's cpu power to unless ur using bandicam to record something like portal(which it doesn't eat spu power for some reason o.0) use fraps cuz when I use bandicam on minecraft I get like 10 fps when on ANY setting, I used to use somy vegas for editing but I've swapped over to adobe premiere as its better, Btw this is pewdie's setup, he uses fraps to record(fraps will work on literaly any pc unles your pc doesn't have a gpu ;P) and uses adobe premiere to edit. also I have only 6 gbs of pc ram and a Intel I5 processor and I make my videos in 1080p(I upscale it with the editing software, i usually record minecraft on eith 720p res or 480p res then just upscale it to 1080p[all my new videos are 1080p now])

I'm also looking for a free editing software. Since the free one that came with my recording software is no longer free, it left me shocked, and more importantly, editing software-less. I don't need much, just a free, easy-to-use, sofware for my gaming vids.
For free editing software, it could be worth taking a look at Lightworks - www.lwks.com. It can be a bit difficult to get started with because it does things a bit different from other editors, The free version mostly lacks high-end features that aren't really needed for YouTube production.
Another option that a lot of people tend to overlook is Blender, being primarily a 3D package, but it does include a built-in, well featured video editor. If you can work around it's little quirks and limitations, it could be quite adequate for your needs.

Hello All
I use:
All are free.
Cheers!
If you have a MacBook Pro [Like I do] just use QuickTimePlayer to record [With voice or without voice]
Mac-> Voila, and IMoive both excellent
PC-> OBS and Windows movie editor tools (comes with windows essentials and is free)
my older videos are voila and my newer ones are OBS on my channel

They however use expensive ones. Use Wax 2.0 and OBS.
I always prefer to use OBS (open broadcast software) because most software even when u pay for them they still have a watermark
Fwed
MagicCreeper, just asking, what free software would you use?
