I've been doing Youtube for over three years with little success. I only have 160 subscribers after all this time and would like to know if you have any tips to make better videos. Your feedback is appreciated and requested.

I've been recording properly for about 4 months now, and I'm on 70 ish subs. I've had periods where I haven't posted and I've still been gaining subs, so I've been quite lucky. I suggest finding people with equal sub counts to collaborate with - I have 4 people lined up, and we shout each other out and stuff. That way, your subs will mix and you'll grow together, and if one of you gets lucky the rest will benefit. But most importantly, keep having fun - a viewer can tell when you're forcing it. Good luck!
Thanks for your help! I think I might start a website where smaller channels can get together and collaborate on ideas! I can send you the link to it when it's up if you want. Follow up question: What should I call the website?

Wow 3 years that's quite a run man keep it up! Anyways as far as your content it's pretty good from the videos I watched you have good quality video and sound but why the music on like every video? My first suggestion would be to stop putting music to every video unless its a montage and your not speaking at all. Secondly posting videos daily always tends to help though it can be hard to find content for daily episodes try your best. I find that recording in blocks always helps with this meaning that I sit down and record say Pixelmon one night a week for that entire week. Anyways I may have more suggestions but in the mean time keep up the hard work and keep your head up!

Thanks for your suggestions Ice! The reason I put music in all of my videos is that my keyboard pulls out of a drawer and it makes a noise sometimes. I use the music to get rid of that. I do agree with that though and I will stop because it is hard to find that much music. As far as daily content goes I don't think that is possible because I try to record with as high quality as possible and I am very busy (mostly with school). I'm going to try to more of it though. Also I've created website for youtubers who want to network. The link is http://theenderhub.webs.com/. I will be getting rid of the .webs soon. Thanks for all of your suggestions, have a good day!

As far as your keyboard noise may I suggest that before you record take a minute of silence and type on your keyboard while recording then in post editing use audacity to remove the noise using it's noise removal feature it works really well as many YouTuber's including myself use it. As far as finding time to record not much help I can give you there but I know you're pain as I work a full time job so I have to try my hardest to find time to record and when I do i record as much and as long as possible. Like I said before I can easily record 2-10 videos in a recording session And edit when I can afterwards.

I actually recently discovered the power of audacity and ,like you said, the noise removal feature. I have a question as far as time goes. Should I make a video one a week with high quality, or make a video every other day with so-so quality?

Once every other day or everyday would be much better. making videos daily shouldn't take away from your quality really. my schedule right now is my Pixelmon series every other day and Hunger games in between pixelmon & I generally only record once maybe twice a week.

The problem is I spend hours upon hours doing a single video for a lets play series. That includes editing, recording, publishing, thinking of ideas. I don't know if I would be able to upload once every other day without sacrificing quality.

Depending on the let's play it honestly shouldn't take you hours upon hours to record edit post. I know that coming up with ideas for a series can be hard and something that will definitely help with that is finding yourself a recording partner and/or group so your not the only one doing the thinking or just pick a let's play that doesn't require as much leg work to record (examples- Factions server, mini-games, adventure maps, Pixelmon. etc.) I don't know how you go about editing and everything but it generally takes me 20 minutes to edit and render a 30 minute video at 1080p unless its a cut up video that I dont have all the cut points written down then it could take 30minutes to an hour. Either way doing YouTube and having a real life takes time management to balance everything out.
How to network: Check out and scout out other people yourself! Don't be afraid to partner with people who have higher or lower subs because in the end both of you will profit from the partnership. Also it is important to keep in contact with those people and maintain a good friendly professional partnership with them. I'm one of those guys that will help anyout out so maybe you can try to learn to have that kind of 'giving' spirit!
What kind of content: Depends on what you LIKE and what you are more COMFORTABLE with. If you like gaming then make sure to do a variety of games. If you like to create vlogs, then make good and funny ones! Youtube is something that you have to invest alot of time into. Recording is one thing , but editing is on a WHOLE nother level so make sure you don't record if you are lazy or tired because that will just make the video quality drop.
Others: Do your BEST! I've been doing Youtube for 2 years now and the outcome was good but now it's starting to go bad so prepare to face some ups and downs and always remember to stay positive and never give up.
To be 100% honest. I would say get out of the Minecraft part of Youtube. It is the most saturated, unlikely way to get popular now. People want to be entertained with every video not "The one amazing Minecraft Machinima I made 5 months ago" <-- (E.g)
I would recommend getting into funny moment videos (You could still do Minecraft) These people know what they are doing and 2 years ago they had 2000-5000 Subscriber (A few of them)
Now of course they all work together and thats why they all grew so succesfully, but when they started they didn't try to put out the most popular thing at the moment. I just think (In my own opinion) that Minecraft is 100% dead for people just starting. Get your following by doing something not as saturated & entertaining.
And never stop uploading, people HATE Hiatuses. (Going away unexpectedly for long periods of time)
I got a video uploaded on Trollarch Office (Link - ) and I stopped uploading after that, people LOVED what I made and I dissapointed them by not making more, so I lost the few fans I could have made. I could have grew my channel into being an internet sensation but I missed out on the opporitunity. Like I said. NEVER stop uploading.
