Hey guys, I am currently in a multiplayer LP and have been getting really terrible FPS. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on how to improve my Frame rate. The server I am on is really laggy and should be transferred to a new host in a few months. But on a singleplayer world of mine I also have the same frame rate. Would anybody have an idea on how to improve this? I have made a redstone clock on the server an I have heard this causes lag, so I did make a way to turn it off and then on. I also have skype logged in while playing, so would that lag me. I just want to know if anybody has a way to increase my frames because I currently get 5-30 at most while recording and up to 100 while not recording. I also have a problem with Java frequently stopping if that would affect it. Thanks for reading this and leaving any solutions.
not less ram, more ram (if possible). i got a 50 fps increase when i increased to 4 gigs of ram. also, java priority would help. and ive heard a program call dixtory or dxtory or something of the sort lags the game less when recording, but i havent tried.
Thanks guys for the help. When I am not recording I got up to 190 fps and when I am I get around 30. All I have done is put on optifine and I am going to increase the ram now.

He meant run minecraft with less ram. The less ram minecraft is using the more ram fraps can use therefor increasing the frame rate.
