ok,i so i recorded a video of minecraft with FRAPS.
Its all good quality n all but it takes ages to upload.
then i edit it with windows movie maker and WTF ITS QUALITY DROPS.
it looks TERRIBLE,and the resolution got changed or something!
whats supposed to be a + looks like a - or a |!
how can i make it look..."watchable" like all those people who make lets plays and stuff and not some squished up distorted thing....
If WMM is making your quality terrible, you're probably just not exporting the correct format. Pick 720p HD and you should be fine for quality. I spend half my editing time on compression and quality "control" since I'm picky. The files from Fraps are large since they are nearly uncompressed from recording. No one expects you to upload those.
Windows Movie Maker has a built in Youtube export feature. If you use that, then you ought not to be able to go far wrong.
Built in youtube feature in WMM? Although I don't see it when I publish my videos, I use the "Windows Media HD for Xbox (PAL) 6.9Mbps" setting for my widescreen videos. The output display ratio is the same as youtube 1280x720.
I think it's the version you get with the Windows Live beta, though I'm pretty sure my old version had it too. If you're using the version that came with an older version of windows it might not have those features, but you can get 2011 for vista and Win7 here: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-mo ... r?os=other
XP users might be out of luck. Not sure if that version has been updated much in recent years.
