So I have a genuine interest in Minecraft. The gameplay is fun and all but what I truly adore is the amazing pictures that some people manage to take. I understand that pressing f7 is not hard but could I possibly get any tips on how to take some truly memorable screenshots?
Only two tips I could think of are to make sure the lightings correct (I like putting redstone torches out of sign inside of any windows so there's a soft glow,) and to never look anything straight on-- Always at an angle that looks nice.
Past that it's just a bunch of walking around in circles finding the perfect spot.
The same general rules for photography apply to screenshots.
Good lighting and good composition.
The subject of your screenshot should be well-lit. Screenshots at night are fine, but the subject should be clearly visible.
For good composition, your subject should fill a fair amount of the frame, and follow the Rule of Thirds. This mean divide your view into a 3x3 grid. The center of your subject should be near where two of those lines intersect, instead of the middle of the shot. Horizon lines should go along one of the grid lines as well. Angle your shot to introduce diagonal lines, and use lines to draw your eyes to the subject.
Also remember to adjust draw distance accordingly. You can adjust the field of view (FOV) to suit your needs as well. Wide angle shots can create a dramatic perspective. Try taking your screenshots at different times - they may look far better against a sunset/sunrise.

Hey sir I cannot thank you enough for this. I'm not a big builder type but I do have a fondness for natural generation in the Minecraft realm. Could I just apply the same rules that you have given me here for let's say a mountain?

Oh yes, you can certainly use the same techniques. You can also change the FOV for some extra effects. I have some example shots that I've attached. The first one I zoomed in the FOV to create perspective compression (making distant objects appear closer to nearby objects) to group some mountains together. The second one, I zoomed out to give the cliff a more dramatic and commanding view.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! What you have done is revitalized a love I thought I had once lost with Minecraft. Keep it classy sir. If this were Reddit I would most certainly give you gold.
