Like a lot of you I like to find a village to use as a base. Normally I'll try to fix problems and make it look nicer. Here are some screenshots of my latest project. It's nothing fancy but it's turning out to be a nice little area. I still have a few more things I'd like to do but it's coming along. Here are some before and after shots. hope you enjoy.
As far as the village and the temple goes yes it was legit. The ruins and building in the background is from mcdungeon. I lucked out and found a temple and village right next to each other.
Oh, I had been hoping that you had built the ruins yourself... Anyway, it looks good!

And for two and a half thousand years, the ring passed out of all knowledge... Rumor turned into myth... myth turned into legend, and legend gave rumor and myth amiss, and went straight into autumn. ...Wait, what?
I also do attempt fix villages placed near my bases. Most advanced version that i have possible need named town already:

They do lend a nice overall look to the area with the village and I wish I could say that I had planed it that way. In all honesty it was one of those unplanned side effects that worked out to the good. I found out about mcdungeon and thought it would be cool to try out and see what it does. I didn't realize that it would place one almost on top of the village I was working on. I also didn't know that the ruins would be as extensive as they were. I had to remove some because they were going through a garden and one of the buildings. I have added a couple of more buildings and now have the desert temple dug out. I am planning to use that as my portal building. When I get a chance I'll try and take some more screen shots and post them.
