Hi there, this is my first post. So i've been playing minecraft for maybe 4 or 5 months now and frequently visiting this forum, so instead of just lurking around all the time i might as well join. Since i've joined, it's fair enough to show you some of the stuff i've been working on lately. I first started a world and just started experimenting with buildings, but that turned out into a mixture of everything and doesn't make much sense. For about two months ago i started building this town and i'm getting really into it. I'll show some pics below. I tried survival as well, but discovered that i'm mostly into building, so i only play creative. I've been following a couple of tuts on youtube as well, just to get into the right style. I thing medieval/fantasy style suits best for minecraft, because of all the wood and stone, it's hard to build futuristic buildings out of wood and stone right? Anyway, heres a bit of my new town, it's just growing bigger and bigger and it's cool to work on something that doesn't really have an end, so maybe it will be a world someday.
Oh, and i really would appreciate some constructive feedback, don't just tell me it sucks without explaining why, any ideas would be great
I'm still a noob, so i don't use any mods, or world editing software, it's all just build the simple way..
It looks great, which makes me a little skaptical of your claim of only having four months experiance. Still, if that is true, you're really talented.

And for two and a half thousand years, the ring passed out of all knowledge... Rumor turned into myth... myth turned into legend, and legend gave rumor and myth amiss, and went straight into autumn. ...Wait, what?
Thanks. I guess i can see what you mean. I've really spent many hours on learning this style though, there are several buildings here i made by tutorials, and i've watched a lot more. I've been looking carefully at builds by others as well. What might help me also is that i've studied design, art and architecture for many years and i've been working with CGI for a long time. When i get into something i just really go for it, and i'm a perfectionist lol...

Pretty awesome man, +1
I would also suggest you do a bird's eye view of the town just to give people an idea of the size of the whole thing, but either way the build is still AMAZING.

I would have been skeptical of his play-time and experience, had this been done back in early or mid-Beta. However, we're in Full Release version 1.4.7. There are many tutorials on Youtube, many screenshots of other peoples' work, a ton of stuff on Reddit, MC Forums, PMC, and even Google Image search that there simply wasn't quite a while ago. So I could see this coming about in four months where back in Beta, probably not so.
Either way, awesome job to you, man. This is decent work, especially for four months, and I hope to see you producing more quality stuff. If you'd like, pop into our server (provided you're at least 13 years of age). PM me if you're interested.
Hey guys, thanks for all the kind comments! I was thinking, for those who are skeptical, maybe there is a way to show you when i installed minecraft, or registered at minecraft.net... if that proves anything lol. But it's like xRILLIANx says, i've been really actively learning as many tricks as possible. To build a house isn't that hard, just set up the frames and fill them in, the hard thing is to make them look interesting by adding the detail, and that basically is a combination of all the stuff i've been looking at.
To tell you a bit more, first of all, i'm almost 3 times 13 years old lol and i actually got minecraft for my son, who'd been asking for it because of some classmates who are really into it. He hangs around on servers, and playing a lot of survival. I just wanted to try it out, and well.. got addicted too. I love CGI and i've been drawing/designing on photoshop and some other software for years, i like art, architecture, fantasy and history, so that's probably it.
Oh, and i'm rendering a bit of an interior now (one of the few in the town ..ahum) i'll make a cool birds-eye view render as well and post it probably tomorrow. (i'll just put it to render tonight). btw, those first pics are just screenshots of the game, with a bit of photo editing, i'm doing some proper 3D renders now.
Almost forgot, redekens, i guess i could put it up for download, just got no idea what's the best place/way to do that. It's far from finished too, i'm working on it everyday, so i think it will be best to wait a little longer, until it's more complete.

Oh, haha. Sorry for assuming! There are just so many youngsters who play this game, I couldn't be sure. But that's really cool. And hey, I can't wait to see how you do as an interior designer.

hehe ya, i know, it's mostly youngsters who play this game, i might as well be the oldest minecrafter in the world lol.
My interior isn't that interesting, just a quick interior and then i can't wait to build the next building I'll show you as soon as i get home. I'm at work now and i'ts very boring... (it's 9 pm in my timezone)

Ah, graveyard shift sucks. Sorry, man. Well, if you ever want to come check us out, just enter the IP in my signature into your "Direct Connect" dialog in your Minecraft launcher.

Thanks! I'll def. do that! Luckily, i finish work in 2 hours
I downloaded chunky yesterday which is a really cool render program and was rendering an interior today. I didn't notice that it doesn't render torches properly, and not potted flowers nor paintings, so the interior looked very dull and dark.
I rendered the street from one of the pics in the OP though, and that turned out pretty cool.
Dang... I wish I was THAT good after my first four months... (then again... that was back before creative existed and everything had to be built legit... Thank Mojang for Progress.)
You have a fine eye for detail. All those little buttons, steps, and trapdoors turn what would otherwise be flat buildings into very beautiful and three-dimensional structures. Those few interiors you showed are splendid as well; like the outside, richly furnished and swimming in detail.
Love what you've done so far. Keep up the good work! +rep

You can use dropbox or mediafire

No, it's not mine. It's called A'therys Ascended, you can check it out here: http://atherys.com/threads/atherys-ascended-texture-pack.27/

Here are some interiors:
