I've been working an eensy bit on a whaling trawler, I'll probably destroy the design and make it bigger, better, and more detailed, but I got a basic idea of what I wanted:
Some things need to be changed, including the prow's length and the prow's shape.

ERMAGHERD. I love that whaling trawler. pls. its awesome to see you do something different than your shipwarf. You are just. all round super good at everything. dang it.
Thanks. Though I intend to improve on the trawler.
Was just messing around with buildings styles and got inspired by the 17th century city thing and got your Dunwall Project back in
mind .... maybe you get some inspiration of it :
This game was in the local papers in Edinburgh when it came out stating that a lot of the research for the environment right down to the waterway was based on the city so just a thought but might be worth looking up some sights and landmarks from Edinburgh to help fill in the gaps. Seems a large project and I look forward to seeing the stages of progress and I know filling in spaces can create builders block but maybe some of the same inspiration the game devs got will also inspire you .
I didn't know it was based off of Edinburgh! That will be good to check out.
Due to the fact that the world is a 7Zip and me bothering to get an app for it is like asking a dragon to give up his hoard for the local well, what I have done is asked my friend to unarchive it, put it into a normal zip and then wait for a few years for it to be sent back via Skype.
As such, laying out the proper city will begin tomorrow or on Saturday. I'll show you guys the world and where I will locate each part of the City.
Hope you enjoy!
Will you try and make most of the building elements parkour friendly?
It just seems right since that is a large part of the gameplay functions.
Victorian rooftops are in general friendly to those who would want to exploit the Thieves Highway, so yes, you will be able to get to most stretches via rooftop

I should be able to start building tomorrow, with any luck (That is, with any internet speed)
In the meantime, this is an example of a Blockhouse, these things will divide the City and hold the Walls of Light:
I also found a map of the game in a screenshot, I'll point out what I know to you:
The large building above the player's hand is Dunwall Tower, the castle and an important building in the city. Directly above the hand is a section of the city in water blue, which I believe is the Flooded District, previously the booming Financial Waterfront. My build will not have this area flooded.
Sadly, I cannot point out much more then the bridge, called Kaldwin's Bridge, but this is a handy reference point if you do not know Dunwall very well.

I have FINALLY got the world working, and I found (I think) the Wrenhaven River, the river that divides the city.
Here are the plans on the River Mouth Quarter:.
Red lines are residential places, blue lines are important buildings, purple lines are parks, gray lines are street ways, and black lines are flood walls:

I've been building a bit of Dunwall Tower, but I have realized it is supposed to be on the right side of the river. Do you think it should stay where it is, or should it be moved to its actual place like it is in-game?

I think you should move it, it'll only make it BETTER!
I put the Tower on the other side of the river and I've been working on it some more:
Annoyingly, the river doesn't compare in width at this point to its predecessor, though it does widen further inland, but it hardly matters and the narrower river makes it easier to plan things.

Aye, I have OriginalWolf to thank for the world. I am going to dedicate a big and royal sailing ship to him in Dunwall Harbor.
I have almost finished the Gatehouse of Dunwall Tower, which in-game has a fancy waterlock that lifts boats up onto the cliff-level that Dunwall Tower is built on:

Interesting, I like the fancy decor.

Seriously dude, keep this up. It looks AWESOME!
Ok, thanks!
Oh yeah, those ones. I think I have found them, might take a look at them.
A very good start!
Thank you!
