I decided to make a topic to show off the current progress in my survival world. I'm currently in the progress of tearing down some of my older buildings and replacing them with better looking buildings, so some of the buildings in the pictures will be destroyed later.
First up a couple of houses in my village, I'm not sure how much I like them yet though. I was trying out new designs to see how they would look.
Next up are some of my older buildings that I haven't managed to tear down or make look better yet.
And now some of the miscellaneous structures that I have built around my town.
Currently the biggest building in my town is the windmill and the wheat farm around it.
And the view from above the village.
Near my town I have a project that I never managed to complete, you can tell me what you think about it so far. I'm not sure whether I want to tear it down or finish building it right now. The wall was planned to go all the way around the building and have some more houses in it.
Next up is the bridge between my mining area and my village.
And last up is the mining area with the quarry and two buildings currently.
Feel free to tell me what you think of my world so far and how I can improve it. Hope you enjoyed looking at it.
I got tired of walking through a tiny tunnel to go between my nether portals so I started building a small base in the nether with the in it. Currently it still has a lot of work that needs to be done on it, the only part that's finished is the stone brick square around it to protect the inside from ghasts. When it's done none of the stone brick will be visible from the inside of it
Currently that's how it looks, I still have another 8 or 10 rows to make on the ceiling with the glowstone and redstone. I also need to collect more grass to finish the floor and to move some animals down there.
I can't imagine why you would want to tear down that huge square building. ;p
I just don't like how it looks, doesn't have many windows and it's right next to a cliff so there's nowhere to put them. It's also kind of plain looking, doesn't have much block variety.
Actually my computer is just a 400$ pre-built from Walmart. I'm able to get around 20-30fps on max settings while running shaders but it's to hard to actually play while running them because of how bright they make it during the day.
Haven't played Minecraft much this past month so I haven't done too much recently. Upgraded my beacon to maximum size and finished the floor of my nether base, I just need to decide how I want the walls of it to look now. I'm thinking about using wool for it once I collect enough.
And for two and a half thousand years, the ring passed out of all knowledge... Rumor turned into myth... myth turned into legend, and legend gave rumor and myth amiss, and went straight into autumn. ...Wait, what?
Looking good! I prefer the look of stone brick alternating with obsidian as you mentioned. Plus it will save you mining bucket loads of obsidian!
Might want to half slab the base if its in the nether to prevent the pigmen from spawning?
I'm not worried about zombie pigmen spawning, I've never had any trouble with them. It's mostly the ghasts that are annoying to me. Also if I want to use half slabs to prevent them from spawning it limits the different kinds of blocks I can use for decoration.
I'm not sure how long it took to mine it all up, about half of it was mined with stone tools and the other half was mined with diamond efficiency V tools. I do remember that it took around three or four hours to make the wall all stone without random patches of dirt in it.
Good job there! I like the style and I am impressed by the time you must have put into this! Have you been working more on it more recently?
Unfortunately I lost a lot of progress on it, I had to re-install my operating system and the usb that I had the most recent version of the save backed up on got corrupted. I do have some copys of the save still but their atleast three or four months of work lost.

Dammit, that must be really bad. Loosing 4 months of progress, seeing how it looks like... I feel bad for you.
PS: I remember I also dug a quarry on a server with Efficiency IV Diamond Pickaxes. The server had a shop and jobs plugin, so I used the money that I got from mining and the cobblestone to make an iron farm.

Never though someone would try to make a legit quarry.
Fantasy City beginners Challenge - around 90 percent complete
Made the quarry because of how much stone I use while building. Used a little over 10,000 protecting the mine-cart track I made to a nether fortress.
