I can't. My com is only 1342x800 in resolution, so the that is the best resolution i can make. I am using the oldschool "prnt scrn" method as i heard that it is of higer quality then a in-game screenshot. Perhaps there is a way to take HQ screenshots, but i do not know of any of them. If you know of, please tell me, i would be really grateful
Please tell me how you do this! The images look amazing.
thanks:) actually i just used photoshop for these effects. Its all about experience, really. If you browse my gallery from the start, you might find that my pics were not that visually appealing at first. But as you keep on doing these kind of pictures, your knowledge and skill on photoshop will be constantly stretched. To tell you what and how i did this would result in a comprehensive hundred+ word essay, so i will just explain how i started it. Basically, the first things that would catch your attention in the pictures are te shadows and the realistic clouds. For the shadows, i used Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders. Its pretty east to install. As for the realistic clouds, the steps here as it follows :
- Enter Minecraft and use the Optifine mod to turn off clouds and sky. The result would be a completely sky bllue back ground setting.
- Take a screenshot and paste it in Photoshop.
- Use the magic wand brush and click on the sky.before doing this, remember to uncheck the "contiguous" option. The whole sky will be slelected.
-control x and cut the selected sky and wala! You have removed the sky
- go to google and search for a suitable sky or cloud picture
- create a background layer in photoshop and paste the picture.
There you go! You now have screenshot with realistic clouds. The rest of the effects is up to ya'll to explore!
I hope this answered some of your queries

I knew it! I kinda found it suspicious how realistic the clouds were, and after reading your post, I was just like, oh. I can't download Sonic's Shaders because my current computer isn't very good, so I might have to experiment and find any good shader / glow etc. effects. Thx for sharing though, and good job with the pictures!

ok sure thanks! My com isn't very good either. I am going around taking all these screenshots with an FPS of less than 10, and i occasionally bump into the difficulty of making my com render far distance.
So I finally got Circleight's permission to do cinematic pictures for his map. Here is the first attempt. My com specs aren't so good, so it can't really handle long distance rendering.
So I was browsing through the forums when i chanced across a thread that also showcases cinematic screenshots, started by the3rdnumber_. I was really inspired by his pictures, as even though he did not use shaders, he still manage to make his screenshots look really clean and pretty. Thus, I decided that i would give it a go and attempt on no-shaders screenshots. Here is the result:
Is there anything i can improve on? Sorry this is the first time i am doing it, so it may not look as good as my the3rdnumber's or my other screenshots that contain shaders. Screenshot is taken in Eldaria V3. Took me a long time because my com just did not want to reder far distance, so it was really hard trying to get a shot like this.

Try this program: http://ynea.futureware.at/cgi-bin/infinite_screen.pl It lets you display a screen resolution larger than the physical one by scrolling the screen. So I would create a desktop slightly larger than 2560x1600, use Magic Launcher to have minecraft start at 2560x1600, switch to fullscreen, which will still run at the native resolution, then switch to the 2560x1600 windowed when you are ready to capture the screen. (That is assuming your graphics card doesn't explode from the resolution!) You could also find a friend with an HD monitor and use remote desktop.

I see....thx for the solution! I have not tried Magic Launcher yet, so i am not really sure how to use it. But i will give it a go when i have time my graphics card is a nvidia GT 480 with 2 gb gram. It is suppose to be decent, but it gives me 7 FPS wit shaders. I do not know what is the prob, and i hbe tried allocating memory, but it doesn't work. I really want to get a GTX soon ....
So, I heard of a Minecraft 3d Renderer called Chunky, and I heard that it is pretty easy to use too. Tried it out. This is the first attempt, so it may not be that successful. It is 2640x1600 big, so it is big enough for some of you to make it as wallpapers.
Here is another picture rendered out in Chunky, and then put through some photoshop. Reflections and sky is by photoshop.
Also, it is one of the few pictures that should be big enough to become HD wallpapers for you desktop screens. This will be the last pic I am churning out for this week, and i will continue next wednesday. Enjoy!
Updated the thread! There is now a "Others" section that will contain screenshots that are not based on any specific maps because they are incomplete/not public/not for release.
Jee, I dunno how you do it >.>
These all looks so amazing!
But really... photoshop is so dang confusing xP Great great job, love the new additions thus far!

I personally think the one before was better, but it depends on what you wanna do.
I kinda thought so too. That was why I did not upload this version into the main thread content.
Tried some manually created rays this time, together wtih some edited water reflections.
