Hey everyone. Just wanted to share something I had been working on this week. Hopefully I'm in the right spot for it.
So I was browsing the net for a few hours seeing what people had done in MC that is "Star Trek" related. And aside from a few ships, there isn't all that much. I recently started using Tekkit, and thought "Man. This would be great for Star Trek themed building." And with that, I set off to build.
First is the Warp Core MK. I. A fully functioning warp core that has a 6-chambered nuclear reactor at its center. Red and blue lamps light up in sequence, meeting at the center. Just like a real warp core. I do not remember the exact power output (in EU) that this thing generated, as once I knew it was stable I forced a core breach to assess the damage it would cause.
The second image is the Warp Core MK. II. This design was much improved over the MK. I, and is based off of Sovereign-class warp core on the Enterprise-E.
This model is powered by 3 6-chambered nuclear reactors, all interconnected and generating more power than one knows what to do with. The power is channeled in storage units, so one can conserve energy. This model also has an alert system. When the core reaches temperatures that may cause it to breach, a thermal monitor triggers a redstone signal, and activates the alarm, which can be heard from 256 blocks away. It is also connected to several monitors that display in real-time reactor temperatures, power output, max safety limits, and breaching temperature.
As with the MK. I, the lights are functional and meet in the center.
Not trying to double post. This one just doesn't really match the series above, so I'm separating it.
This model is something I was working on last night. My idea of a "Low Tech" warp core. Something that generates a great deal of power, but no where near the others. It also has more of a "Minecraft" look and feel to it. Using wood, basic lamps, and other basic materials.
This design is powered by a single 3-chambered nuclear reactor, and pumps it's power into BatBoxes. It has no alarm system yet, and no thermal monitors. The reactor chamber is located at the base of the warp core, beneath the floor. The warp core itself is 3 floors high.
im trying to reproduce that here, will post on youtube but i cant figger how u made the white light stripes on the 2 lateral pillars, using the ic2 illuminator wont give the same effect is that a mod, text-pack or what?

But overall a REALLY GOOD design
