Wow. That's all I can say to describe this. Wow. You did such an outstanding job, I love it. You're an amazing builder.
Thank you very much
I'm very glad to hear that!
Well, this deserves more news...a new skyscraper has been created!
...in my mind for now...
Since only the construction area has been defined, behind the stadium and next to the pool:
I can only show you the sketch of the building. The drawing is very crude, but is enough for me in order to remind the basic proportions and shape of the skyscraper. The details come later!
I call this, the S-Quadra (Mixup of Escuadra, which is spanish for wall bracket, and somehow Quattro, since is composed of 4 elements, the towers, the top floor, and the element in the middle, connecting everything, like...a wall bracket)
In my opinion you are using waaaay too much glass . I recommend using less of it , and you should
also replace the diamond and emerald blocks by wool - it just looks way nicer and not so bright .
Those ore blocks are just for smaller accents in my opinion ...
I agree on the glass, but well, it's one of my signature materials, I love wide views with lots of light, and it would be hard for me to use less, at least with the already made buildings...and I'm aware I'm using even more than usual in my last project, but I imagined it like that...
As for the emeralds and diamonds, I agree too, maybe I could use a softer color with a new material, I'l study that.
That's right, that building is gone. I never liked it, so I thought it was time to make something better, but at the same time, use this chance to make something bigger in order to use the sourrounding area.
The bridge to Pinaculum is gone too, I'll make a new one.
The new building (Sugane, a contraction of Sugar Cane, in "memory" of the 2 sugar canes which were there before, in the first picture) will be a new concept, all rounded, with new features I never used before.
As you can see, the floor is special (the second floor will have a different theme) the green blocks represent where the trees and the lights in the old building were, and the main red part represents where the old path was. I will also make a small garden in a corner, where I will make a small version of the "garden" area which was there, with a lake, trees...and the sugar canes.
I will not bore you with small updates, I'll post something again with a great progress has been done!
My english vocabulary can't even describe how awesome this is. The amount of commitment, work, editing, planning, building must have been enormous. Oh and great to see someone still use MCedit
Dam I wish your X tower was underwater, that would be the most epic thing ever, btw how did you render your MC pictures, could you please post a link to it.

Thank you a lot!
It has been a long path, 3 years now, and I couldn't be any more proud of what's becoming to, it's a great feeling.
I don't know if MCedit is still the program to use right now, but it served me very well, so unless something better comes along or it becomes oslolete, I'll use it
An underwater X-Cross...interesting concept, but too hidden That's why I don't make many underwater features very often...
For the renders, I use Chunky, you can get the latest version here.
Also, I'll update the texturepack and the world today (1.6.4. compatible), things are still unfinished, but at least you'll be able to see them by yourselves.
And finally, since I had the chance to make another post, I'll post some minor updates.
My firend suggested to change the look of Marina's stairs to the tunnel. He had a good idea:
Still making good progress with Sugane. A new thing has been added, since I'm adding a fountain to one of the stairs, I wanted to make something new for this space here...I did
And finally, we changed the material of the Munduno letters. From wool to marble. Of course, we did that manually (block by block) like it should be done, using MCedit would have been too easy.
And that's it for now! I hope to finish as much as possible this year (I don't forget about the maze...3 years to make it, and counting ) but I prefer to not promise anything...
Dang this is AMAZING! I found this post back in 2011 I think when it was only one or maybe two pages long, but I never bothered to comment. I feel like it should have been done sooner. (me commenting I mean)
Anyway, I was inspired and started my own world just now in 1.7 (full version, not beta sadly.) I made a miniature of your Pinaculum and a 'national park' with my very first survival house in it. and Im starting soon on a 1:1 scale of the tallest building in my home town. (only 90 meters.)
Keep posting and have fun! This is very inspiring! Also, do you speak Spanish as your first language?
Porque si lo haces, estoy aprendiendo y yo quería sonar más agradecido. Así que aquí está mi comentario en español! Más o menos.
An absolutely amazing city! I don't know if it was your intention, but it makes me think of Barcelona, which I've visited twice. Not in detail, but in the combination of wild structures and bright colors.
I think your extensive use of glass works very well in the theme you're using and I'm sure it makes for great views as you're working.

I don't have words to describe this map. Is still in W.I.P and it's very pretty and awesome! Keep doing it! I'm going to keep this map in Favourites because I think I'm going to do some clip-videos to my channel with this. A-W-E-S-O-M-E!
First of all, thank you very much to everyone!!!
It's a real honour to read this, I feel really small right now, it's amazing...
@EpicSoren I'm really happy Munduno served as an inspiration for you, I cannot wait to see your miniature Pinaculum and National Park! And of course what else you have to build, like that 90 mts building. Y si, soy Español, y es mi primer idioma, asi que una vez más, muchisimas gracias por el comentario, de veras
@Zeno410 Well, it was not intentional, I'm from Madrid and my friend (who designed Whirpool's exterior, Munduno's sign and the Metro system minus the final decoration on walls, floors and ceilings, for example) is from Barcelona, Some things may have a real world inspiration, but mainly everything is based on original ideas, without any real world references. And thanks again
@Rafitamolin Whoa, that would be awesome! Now I feel bad, I have too many projects going on at once, being Sugane the last (It´s on hold until 1.7 comes along, I want to use colored glass instead of normal glass, and I don't want to try snapshots) but I still have to finish the maze (3 years in the making...) S-Quadra (empty and still without the complete facade made), Whirlpool (a lot of floors still missing, we're waiting for 1.7 to see if the lightning problems are gone, right now a LOT of light is needed to properly lighten every floor, and even with that looks weird...at least the main hall is done) and the outside of Amanecer's station is a mess, there's a small Sagrada Familia replica my friend did for fun, some tall jungle trees for testing, the terrain still needs to be fixed there...
I'll try to do as much as I can for the next 7 days, I want to finish the maze at least, I really need to put an end to that project.
Again, I cannot thank you all enough. This inspires me too, to keep doing things, my friend would be proud too, he gained the right to say he's a co-owner of the world right now, without him, some things would have been worse or wouldn't even exist at all...
One last thing, a small preview of how Sugane looks before I paused works:
As you can see, the lower floor is finished (except the tunnels, still pending) and I added a small indoor park which is a homage of the old looks of that area, including of course, the 2 sugar canes (the only ones I ever found naturally here!) and what I'm going to do is, as I said, try to finish as much as possible, and then, post an updated version of the map
Oh, and don't worry, Sugane's top floor will have a more creative design (That red-ish floor is temporal). I will use carpets too, so I can have a colorful design on top and lights on the bottom without using 2 rows of blocks like I did until now.
Nunca hubiera imaginado!
I finished my mini Pinaculum and my 'national park' is really just a slab of dirt in a lake with a square box on it. That is what my first survival world was like, and I remember it fondly... for some reason. I'm building this building: http://www.emporis.com/images/show/315830-Large.jpg

Now, back on topic!
Nice building! When I saw it's from Anchorage, I was surprised, I thought it was somewhere else...I hope it turns out well!
And finally, what I did today:
BIG step forward for the maze. All walls, ceiling and floor made. I did some of the maze itself too. At least, now I only have to complete the path (it's faster than you may think), add some lights, a second floor, some stairs to the exit, done.
Also, since 1.7.2 is now released, I can go back to work to Sugane and S-Quadra too...the modified colored glass is here (I modified the texture so it looks clear, but colored, just like my normal glass) and S-Quadra is finally free of black areas...so apart from the new save, I'll release an updated resourcepack with the colored glass, next week
I'll make a little tour for you now, but first, be warned, this may be my most polemic creation (I'm prepared for lots of criticism)
The goals were:
-Doing something 100% new, which looks like nothing I ever done before.
-Using new materials (Stained glass, Carpet)
-Designed to be crazy, not sexy (so maybe ugly in the end...)
So....here it is.
It's a shame it doesn't look as good as I imagined it in my mind, maybe the lack (oh the irony...) of iron on the structure makes it look weird...but I have no regrests. Details are not final, and may change, but for now, this is the final product.
Let's start the tour. Sugane features 2 floors, it's connected to the rest of the world via 2 tunnels (recycling the old tunnels which were on that area) a new bridge connected to Pinaculum, it has 2 observation areas, one on the top floor and the other one underwater, also, it has a fountain (big surprise, of course) and the sideways house art piece thing.
As I said before, the green blocks here represent where the lights in the old building were. In the rest of the floor, represent where the trees were.
The tunnel leading to National Park.
The indoors park. With the 2 sugar canes, of course.
Two general views of the bottom floor.
Underwater part.
The house!
Main stairs.
Fountain.
Bridge.
Observation deck.
Main view of the top floor.
Night.
And that's it. As I said, something really radical, a love it or hate it building...at least it's not boring like its predecessor
Now, time to go back to the maze and finish it. Then, S-Quadra is next.
What do you think? I'm always open to improvements...I hope it's not "demolish it"
Speaking of looking like Barcelona, now THAT looks like Gaudi! lol The outside looks fantastic, especially the view from the ocean. The inside could use more stuff, like benches, vendors, sculpture, or more garden. Certainly not boring, indeed!

Geographicraft (formerly Climate Control) - Control climate, ocean, and land sizes; stop chunk walls; put modded biomes into Default worlds, and more!
RTG plus - All the beautiful terrain of RTG, plus varied and beautiful trees and forests.
Yes, I was planning to add more to the interior, first step, signs for the tunnels and the bridge, and yes, some benches or more art, I'll think how to do it.
I also forgot another past project, the multicolor caves...but it's so secondary I don't care about it right now. It requieres a LOT of effort, and it's too hidden it's not worth the rush. It will be completed...eventually.
First of all, big news. Whirlpool is finished. Finally! After 1 year, this is the final result:
Yes, we changed all the glass in the building (on the outside) all of it, by hand...but was worth it. One glass for every color, cyan, blue, green and silver. Now it looks even better!
Now all 4 sides have an entrance now. Also, we added the name, each sign has a letter, it fits perfecly!
Surroundings. Now a perfect circle...surrounds the building. We added a pair of blue rings on the floor for good measure.
An access to the roof has been made, of course.
Interior. This is supposed to be a elevator shaft (I hope some day an actual elevator can be fitted here)
A completed floor.
The stairs part. In this one signs and buttons were still not added.
Lobby. I added "Informacion" (Information) with signs...I was lucky, perfect fit!
So there you go. Another project finally done...so what about the others? Well, the maze looks like this:
It's finished! Well, it's not. The maze course is, now I have to make the walls go all the way up, add one or two floor to it, stairs, and it will be completed!
And since a project is done and another one is very close to be done too, we have to start thinking in the future...now.
Who knows...maybe in the near future a building or two will be here!
But it's outdated. Whirlpool wasn't finished, of course, Sugane and S-quadra were nowhere to be seen and Pagoda was very short (we increased its height several floors) but this will do while Chunky gets updated.
I like It However I think it seems more like the world in the 23 century which is more awesome so you should rename it
I think it's really like a present day world, but without following usual rules when building a city...maybe saying that would make people believe this is a Jetsons-like world, and also, normally cities are build in a medieval style, so I think it's enough. Thanks for the suggestion anyway!
And now...news.
Remember the being-emptied area in the last pictures? Of course, things have moved, and a lot...
I give you this:
The new skycraper designed by my friend (I don't deserve any credits on this as for now), which is supposed to be more stylized than anything made before. Quite high too. As high as Whirlpool.
Here you can see the expanded areas. Two have been made. One is an expansion for Marina, where my friend is making his building, and the other is an expansion of the Pinaculum complex, and it's where I'm making mine's.
The first idea was to make a building composed of joined pyramids, in different angles and positions from each other, but the very first test was...quite pathetic.
I'll explore the idea for the future, but for now, this is what I'm making here:
It will be a modest skyscraper (not as tall as the monster surrounding it) but it will be like that. Made from glass, but, with a skin made of panel glass and iron bars. They will alternate designs so each section looks different, I think it will look great. I also changed again the textures for the bars, now they look smooth, as you can see in the pic.
I also changed planks.Smoother too. I tried to give them enough roughness to make them look like wood, not plastic, but definitely smoother.
A view of the expanded part of Marina.
The looks of this line were changed too. Used to be yellow wool, but looked...weird. Since it's supposed to be part of Pinaculum...why not use Gold and Diamond?
It extends all the way to the new building (without a name for now as well) and makes a frontier with Marina.
Gold and diamond, fancy! The marina needs a cruise ship.
A pyramid is twice as wide as it is tall, so it's going to be a, um, tall order to coordinate it with all those skyscrapers. If you put it on a short base (3 blocks high or so) it will still look imposing from the ground, but given the scale of most of your buildings, I think it's better used as a small monument for a public space.

I think you can start to see how it will work, as always, I'm adding details and features on the go, so things can still change a lot!
Also, materials used this time are reduced to 2, quartz and glass...so it's iron and wool free!
I agree on the glass, but well, it's one of my signature materials, I love wide views with lots of light, and it would be hard for me to use less, at least with the already made buildings...and I'm aware I'm using even more than usual in my last project, but I imagined it like that...

And that's all by now, I hope you like the update
Ow, I see...maybe I could provide a Mac compatible format for you? I don't know a thing about that.

Jorge, the Whirlpool looks great! Do you have any full-city renders? I know it's going to require 3rd party tools.
Geographicraft (formerly Climate Control) - Control climate, ocean, and land sizes; stop chunk walls; put modded biomes into Default worlds, and more!
RTG plus - All the beautiful terrain of RTG, plus varied and beautiful trees and forests.
But it's outdated. Whirlpool wasn't finished, of course, Sugane and S-quadra were nowhere to be seen and Pagoda was very short (we increased its height several floors) but this will do while Chunky gets updated.
More updates soon!
