Before replying remember I'm not a master architect or anything so my builds aren't 100% original or amazing. But I would like some feedback and suggestions to me make them better. That will be all and enjoy. All but the Sea Snake are from my upcoming Adventure map.
This build is a witch's house that will be in my adventure map, if you have any suggestions to spice it up a little please tell me!
Thanks, even though I'm not really focusing on the buildings on my adventure map I still want to make sure people can tolerate looking at my buildings haha.
Who the heck is xD? The builds arent either bad or good cus they arent original so you should try to find an idea for a big town for example and make it. (with at least 40% originality :biggrin.gif:)
I love the water mill, except for one tiny part... Shouldn't the wheel be in a small stream or *at least* in a river? :tongue.gif:
I'm actually going to work on that once bukkit has a recommended build for 1.0 and VoxelSniper is for the build. I had to work with what I had for the most part.
*Edit-Thanks for the feedback guys, if you have any suggestions on how I could spice my builds up don't be afraid to speak your mind.
I like giving random percentages :3 The thing i meant is.. Make a good idea for a town (like town with rivers and lots of bridges for example-my first thought, but use this kind of buildings)
Definitely an awesome start! Let's go through these one by one, and see what we like, and what we can improve:
The Witch's House
What I Like: I really like that sloped roof! Awesome job, and it's a nice way to use curves.
What I Would Improve: Personally, I feel that the upper floor is a little out of shape, and quite large. That overhang looks a little unbalanced and dangerous. I would either:
Redesign the shape of one of the floors to match the other, and make the overhang a little smaller
OR
You could add supports where the corners of the overhangs are, using fences, or logs, or something!
The Spawn house
What I Like: This is pretty damn cool. My favorite part is your use of depth, how you have a smaller part sticking out towards us where the door is. It's a pleasant break from the monotonous flat, four-walled cube house.
What I Would Improve: Here, the only thing I can think of is to break up the colors a little bit. The brown logs combined with the brown wood planks makes it look, at a first glance, like one material of house. I would personally use two different kinds of logs, maybe some wool, and stone to break that up.
The Old Barn
What I like: I like the overall shape of the building, and it seems that you haven't gone overboard with size. It looks like it would house some animals in it without being the size of a convention center.
What I Would Improve: There are two small things: Again, the block pallet. I do like that you used stone AND logs here, but perhaps even one more block would do the trick. In most of my buildings, I tend to use three different blocks as my main pallet when constructing. The second thing here is the roof. It looks a little blocky compared to the roofs on your other building designs. Perhaps use stair blocks to make it slope a little more? Or use half-steps to make it curve, it that's what you're going for.
The Water Mill
What I Like: The best part here is your block pallet! Nice, with wood, logs and white wool! Great job on the actual wheel as well!
What I Would Improve: The only thing that seems to stick out here is the wheel. Literally. From the perspective, it seems to stick out too far. You can fix this by either modifying the river that the wheel is in, so that the waterline is closer and you can move the wheel back.
OR
You can make the wheel a bit bigger, about the size of the house. That would definitely fix the problem. Although I would personally opt for the former.
Your First Organic Build
What I Like: Honestly, I don't know how people do these, but they're bloody awesome! I really like your color scheme, how it fits in with the water, but I can still tell it apart from the sea.
What I Would Improve: I'm going to say it now: I have never had any experience building these "organic" builds, so I don't really have any feedback for the actual construction part of it. However, what I will say is perhaps, if you did this with World Edit, you could use the smooth brush tool to go out and smooth some of those lumps, so the dragon doesn't look like he has warts.
Wrap-Up
Overall, nice job! I really love your builds, and I think with a little improvement, they'll be even better than they already are! You should really consider building a small town, because I'd love to see how that would turn out. I hope you appreciate the feedback I've given you, and I thank you for your time.

Oh my god, that's probably the most professional looking suggestion post I've seen, great job on that. Also thanks, all your suggestions make complete sense.
