This is my build of the Temple of time from The Legend of Zelda: The ocarina of time.
This is what I hope it ends up looking like:
This thread is VERY picture heavy and my resolution is high (1920x1080) So the files are large.
Day One
- 7/09/11
First screen is of the base work and outline of the building.
Moved structure to a different world with MCEdit. and deleted half of it that was wrong then copied and flipped the correct half.
Built the towers and Windows.
Almost finished the front, Built windows and the triforce
That's all for today. Will keep working on it tomorrow and will update :smile.gif:
I might put a texture pack on as well. Something like Dokucraft.
I will be taking a break from this project until 1.8 is Officially released, because of RL issues that have come up. Not the pre-release. <3 I also may have to move the building AGAIN. To a creative world.
Nice work so far! Do you have the entire rest of it planned out or are you testing with details and experimenting as you go along?
I built a Temple of Time a few months ago, took FOREVER because I lost direction once I got to the Chamber of Time. Finally completed it after OoT3D came out and I was able to use that to get some good ideas for finishing it.
Here's a video I actually just made this past weekend showing my own construction, if you're interested. Feel free to borrow any ideas you find useful.
I'm not doing as much detail as you have there but there will be an interior. I haven't really planned out much more than the overall shape of the building, but I have a good idea of what it will look like.
Cool, I can't wait to see it. I really like that you used mossy cobble to build it instead of normal cobble. I may have to swap out the cobble in mine to mossy... it gives a really cool effect to it. At first I thought you were using a texture pack for it until you said you were thinking about throwing in a texture pack, it looks that unique.

Yeah, the mossy cobble makes it kinda unique because everyone uses cobble or Stone. Not many use mossy.
While the grand idea is awesome, Mossy Cobblestone was a poor choice of bricks, the exterior is pale grey, I'd have used Clay or Stone for it, just saying :/
I'll be using a texture pack soon so that might fix the colour a bit. Dokucraft light or high would lighten it up.
Looking good. I'd avoid the DokuCraft TP though, unless you want to change the mossy cobblestone texture in it.
I finished my version of the 'Temple of Time' not too long ago. It's a bit smaller than yours, but it might provide some inspiration. You can also DL the save, so have a look around and see what you think.

Very nice build. This is my first major build too. mine will look somewhat like yours but i think a bit darker. The idea I had for where the master sword is a Pitch black room with one light source, a sky light directly above it. Although I do like the glowstone around the room you did.
If worse comes to worse with the texture packs then I can replace the Mossy cobble with what ever I want.
The roof looked even to me before you fixed it :biggrin.gif:
And regarding the material, I'd have picked Sandstone. It may look yellow up close, but when you make a big building out of it and take a step back, it really looks like an old stone building with some patina on it.
It wasn't. Look at the window below the top of the roof. the top most square of that window had to be in the middle of the roof, bit hard when there are only two blocks for the top of the roof. I know it wouldn't have made much difference but I knew it was uneven and that got on my nerves This build is allll about being symmetrical. When I'm done I'll go over it and fix a **** load of mistakes ahah.
I'm not sold on sand stone. If I can find a texture pack that makes mossy cobble look good then I'm set, but I like the look with mossy cobble on it for now. I can replace it.

I hope you Zelda fans like it ;D

Will do! I also hope to make other like this. If time allows.
I would look forward to seeing that.

I would but some of the Zelda themed texture packs don't look that great. And Wind Waker is cell shading. That wouldn't look too good on it.

I will provide a schematic link when i'm done!
Front done! Although the tallest tower hit the height limit 2 blocks off what I wanted.
Does that look even to you? It doesn't to me :/ This might mean a major rework.
Phew Fixed it with out too much rebuilding

PureBDcraft is NOT a Zelda themed texturepack.
It's a ComicBook Style themed texture pack. :wink.gif:

Still. WW was cell shaded and comic books are too. ocarina of time isn't so I won't use that TP
What have you done to make water look like that though?
