A winner has been chosen! Congratulations to purist66! Your build will be featured in the latest Build Spotlight!
A big thank you goes out to everyone who submitted their work to me. It was a difficult decision, but don't lose hope on this one because I am now accepting submissions for the next issue! Read below for more details! :biggrin.gif:
Hello, fellow Minecrafters! Lord Earthcraft here for the new, online magazine, The Redstone Torch. I am here to find talented builders who would like their builds to be featured in our publication's Build Spotlight!
Rules for submissions:
All you have to do is post a screenshot of your build in this thread (or multiple screenshots! If you have an impressive interior, show it off!) or you may send your submission to me in a pm. To keep with the forum rules, please do include a short description of your build with the screenshot(s). Every build to be considered must follow a theme, which I will announce shortly after the release of each issue. If your build is chosen, your screenshots will be featured in the Redstone Torch, along with a short interview with you, the builder! So start posting! Seize your place in the spotlight!
Important note: Your submission does not have to be a house. I will accept screenshots of anything you have built so long as it follows the theme. Be creative! :smile.gif:
Current Theme:Adventure! This one is fairly abstract, so it leaves a lot of room for creativity. I will be looking for builds that emphasize the presence of danger and the expansionist nature of Minecraft. Still, if you think you have something that displays the theme better than what I have described, show me! I'm always willing to award bonus points to builders who think outside of the box!
[Side note: I will not take entire adventure maps as submissions. If you have a build within the map that would be good for this, I'll look at it. But we already have a column for adventure map reviews and this isn't it. :tongue.gif:]
Deadline: I will accept all submissions I receive until Tuesday, September 6th. A winner will be announced on Wednesday, September 7th. Best of luck!
Again, be creative and have fun with your submissions. That's what Minecraft is all about. :smile.gif: I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Don't know how to post screenshots? I can help! Just take your screenshot and upload it to your favorite image hosting site (like imageshack or photobucket) then paste the url to your image in a post in between this code.
Announcement: The mods merged the new thread with the main thread for The Redstone Torch... Not happy, but I'll abide by their will. In light of this, this thread will remain.
How do I post pics? I HAVE AN AWESOME BUILD I'D LOVE TO SHOW!
Alright, first you have to take the picture. Press F1 to hide your gui (Makes the pics better :smile.gif: ) and then press F2 to take the shot. Now you have a file in your .minecraft\screenshots folder. Take that file and upload it to an image site (like photobucket or imageshack). After that's done, you should be able to get a url for your image. Copy that and come back to the forum. Start a post and click the button that looks like a picture of a tree. Paste the url in the box that pops up and it should post just fine. :smile.gif:

Okay, give me ahwile. I have never uploaded pics, I'll email you as soon as I'm done.
Eviscerator, if you have a link to download the map, I'll have a look at it. But send it (and any further questions or comments) via pm. Not to be rude, but you're spamming up my first page. :tongue.gif:

Whats pm? I just learned computer stuff
sorry though I'm 12
Eviscerator. I do Maps, Mods, and (maybe)Texture Packs. You can go to this thread to submit maps to me, but yours will not be given any special priority over the others. No offense Earth, but this is NOT your domain.
Anyway, glad to see the redstone torch so actively coming along!
My world is in that theme!
Check out my world I would say (link's in my signature). And if you really want it I'll post some pics here.
I'll check it out! :biggrin.gif:
On another note, I know I just posted this thread yesterday, but I'm thinking about moving this thread to the Discussion forum. I have a few good reasons for this.
*You can post about nearly anything Minecraft related there.
*I'll probably get more exposure
*Finally, the people who have made submissions so far have not posted screenshots. I don't personally mind so much, but this is the screenshots forum so it might make the forum mods a bit happier if I relocated. :smile.gif:
Of course I'll post a link in the OP here if I move, but I haven't decided yet. Thank you all for your submissions so far! Keep them coming! :biggrin.gif:
A bit of an important announcement. I've been indirectly "encouraged" by my editor to shift the deadline for submissions. I will now be announcing the winning submission on Friday. The op has been changed to reflect this.
I apologize for the inconvenience of this if any of you were making special builds for the spotlight. Next time, there will be a full week to enter any submissions. Promise!

You obviously need to take a more thorough look at the site, and stop double posting.
I'll check it out! :biggrin.gif:
