Hey you! You kinda inspired me to make my own version of it. I'll start on it now and post it as soon as its done! Its like.. i'm going to use johnsmiths and more detail.
But the fact is, your build does not bother me at all. Because its basic, and basic is a damn good way to start of for other people who will use your tutorial. These are the first steps of. evolving trough building work etc.
I dont expect a sick detailed dragonskyrim cupcakebarn with lava fountains. no. just a basic barn. I like it
It's bad i must say, waaay to basic and chunky, you must make it more irregular and add detail. It's just not good,
i'm going to defend his chuncky, basic design. How else would young people, starters learn how to build. You don't begin with structures like mine, i think its very good that he uses this basic design.
Wow im surprised that this thread made it to this year haha, just as a general response to everyone.
All of the builds I did when I did this series, was simply meant for newer/beginner builders and just a basic idea to get people started, inspire, or just give a bored player something to do.
Yes, this build is bulky, square, boring, etc. HOWEVER back in June of 2011 people didnt really use half slabs and stairs to decorate and add character to builds. As far as buildings went anything that wasnt just square at the time seemed strange and unorthodox. But now. Wonderful things have happened with design and building in Minecraft over time.
Im glad most of you enjoyed this build. Thanks for the support
I love this. I deviated slightly from your plans but thank you so much for them. 1.6 came out, with horses, and I knew I needed a place to keep them, and this is absolutely perfect. Diamonds for you :Diamond::Diamond::Diamond:
Also, here are some pictures, because you asked for some, sooo... k bai!
I loved your design. I built this on our home server my family uses. it turned out great i made a few changes for personal taste added some windows and made spaces above the doors so it can hold horses and we can ride out of each stall. Your instructions were awesome so easy to understand and follow. thanks for sharing this awesome barn!
I built this in my kingdom for my daughter's pink and purple sheep.
But i altered it a bit....
First, instead of using sign posts I used wooden trap doors along the top of the stalls. It gave it a nice rustic look (with my texture pack)
And then in the loft I built a fence going all along and filling it in so it was suspended between the rafter posts that you insert.
Then I added hay blocks up there (like a real barn!)
I also added hay blocks and cauldron with water to each stall and a fence with gate on each door way (in case animals get out)
I attached the back of the barn upto a fenced in area for the rest of the animals!
I don't know how to do screen shots next, I actually created this account just so I could post this!
