In my art class we are doing a paper mache. I'm wanting it to be somewhat big, but I need a dadblang scale! So, please post your suggestions for a scale here, with it being 1 pixel = __ inches. Thanks! I'll be sure to post the finished result here!
I was going to do that, but that would make it only 26 inches high, about two feet. I wanted it to be a bit bigger, so I'm probably going to go with 1:2.

After deciding on a scale of 1 pixel to 2 inches, I've got the head pieces of cardboard cut out and boxed. I have also started making the front of the body. Pictures up...hopefully tomorrow. :smile.gif:
Unfortunately, no pictures today, because just as I was about to take them class was dismissed. :dry.gif: Tomorrow I'll be sure to take those pictures first thing.
As a life-long art student, and occasional builder of things, I must caution you about the importance of scale, in terms of portability, particularly in terms of school projects. You'll need to transport it to and from school, for starters. If you ride the bus, you'll need to consider things like aisle width as well.
Also, I'd be quite worried about something this big becoming a target for bullies and kids with anger issues. Of course that was a problem a lot for me growing up, your mileage may vary.
When the class is over and done with, I'm sure you'll want to enjoy your creeper for many years as well.. so keep scale in mind for the future as well. It's often much easier to keep a smaller model nice if it can fit on a shelf, than it is to keep enough space available for something large to stand on the floor.
It's your project, of course.. as other have said. But a foot tall creeper can stand on your computer desk at home for years. A 4 foot tall creeper... well.. in my school years it wouldn't have survived two months before it got kicked or broken or thrown out for being too "in the way".
All that said, I wish you all the best of luck, building your creeper to any scale you choose.
Will you be painting the pixels on it? or will you be going for the "solid green" look?

(personally, I would have gone for the chicken)
Thanks for all the information! At my school, bullies shouldn't be too much of an issue and I SHOULD be able to transport it home, even riding the bus. One simple problem, though, would be putting it in my locker, but I probably won't put it in there anyway, rather keeping it in the room and picking it up just after school on the way to the bus. You have definitely made me consider things and I'm going to probably plan out the transportation near the end of the project.
Also, I am planning on painting the pixels, but I most likely won't use every single color, but rather use one color for similar shades of green, and one black color.

your project, not mine.
A bit much... :unsure.gif:
up to you really.

Nice! What's your scale? Same as mine? If so, it's awesome to have a preview of the finished thing!
I'm using cardboard. Sure, the head and stuff won't be completely precise, but I think it'll look pretty nice when it's finished. :smile.gif:
Here's that picture I promised: (keep in mind it's not even finished yet)
:biggrin.gif:
Thanks! :smile.gif:

I've finished the entire body now, and I've started putting the paper mache on it! (I don't like the cum-like stuff, it's gross! :dry.gif: )

Good luck! I can't wait to see your finished creeper!
