So I had to use this old post, because it wouldn't let me post in here again... anyway, scroll down for information about the grand reopening of my server, or you can read the old description, if you like.
Hi, I got sick of all the servers I tried out not living up to my expectations, so I'm going on an adventure and hosting my own. If you wanna join in, go ahead. Still in the early learning phase right now, but that's ok! If you help out, maybe you can be OP on the real thing.
My vision is simple: I want a non white listed survival server, with raiding allowed, but somehow preventing the douche bag type of griefing like desecrating the area around the spawn area for no reason but to make it look terrible. I will have some plugins in the real thing, but for now it's pure vanilla.
And most importantly, absolutely no rewards for voting, and no donations, period. There may be a rank system, but it will be based on merit.
I'm sorry to hear you did not have a good time, however I must point out that it does say in the description that I'm allowing raiding... that means pvp is enabled... perhaps I should have specifically stated that...
Ok, so I decided to run a server again. It went pretty well last time, and I took a hiatus to play on some other servers that were similar to the style I am trying to achieve. I learned a few things, and I'm confident that this time around it will be even better than last time.
This is an anarchy server. That means raiding, stealing, griefing, etc are all acceptable. I have the random spawn feature set up once again, to prevent a centralized grief zone, but this time I also have an actual spawn zone with all the features most of you are probably used to by now. I also have essentials this time, too. The lack of a home teleport was the biggest complaint, and after playing on a few servers that did and did not have it, I can see why. It doesn't break the immersion like I had initially thought it would, It just makes it easier to call your base home.
Once again, I will not have any vote rewards. The rewards are always either too great, and people just rely on them, or they are too little and no one bothers. Besides, it's not like I believe I can compete with other servers that already dominate voting sites. The top sites have not changes much since I first heard about Minecraft. However, I have made use of the economy functions of essentials, and set up a shop in the spawn area. Many players will also be happy to know that I have added an area where they can get together for pvp as well. That was the biggest downside to having the random spawn feature.
I plan on adding in some minigames as well, depending on which ones are most requested. As one final note, for a limited time, there is a grand re-opening special going on. But I'll let you see for yourself what that's all about. Hope to see you in-game again.
Until Bukkit updates, you will need to log in using 1.6.4. I know there are some servers out there that are claiming they are using 1.7.2 Bukkit, but that is not an official release, and it does not actually have any of the features of 1.7.2. Not to mention it's really unstable.
If you don't know how to log in with 1.6.4, it's really simple:
