Hey there, welcome to SwingCraft.
I ought to introduce myself; my name is Steve, AKA SecondEdit. I have been in the business of running Minecraft servers for a couple of years now. Since version 1.4, I have hosted a server for my friends and high school classmates only. Now that I'm attending Miami University, I've decided to open up my server to the public. Aside from our eSports club, I am fairly certain that this is the only Minecraft server on campus. I have always enjoyed playing Minecraft with other players, so you can expect to see me in survival mode quite often.
Our server is open to anyone willing to play, as long as you are 18 years or older. I've made exceptions before, so if you consider yourself mature enough to play in a more down to earth Minecraft environment, feel free to join if you are under-age.
SwingCraft is running Craftbukkit, so we have many, many plugins to enrich the SMP experience. Most notable plugins are:
As listed, we use WorldGuard primarily for region protection. Anyone is allowed to have a WorldGuarded region of reasonable size - the only requirement is that you ask!
Our server has several ranks:
Rank I / II / III / IV / V - Standard rank progression, with each new rank unlocking new benefits and abilities. These abilities range from extra permanent hearts to invulnerability to fall and creeper explosion damage.
Builder- Assists the architects with server building projects.
Architect - Head builders - in charge of server building projects. Has access to WorldEdit.
Moderator - Helps to keep the community pleasant.
There are no donations on our server! Any and all ranks or benefits can be earned entirely in-game
If you aren't the building type, our Spawn has many houses for sale / for rent.
Our server is always online, and we have a couple gigs of dedicated RAM just for Minecraft. Swing by and say hello!
