941, Elysium, The young shimmering capital of the lands, and home of technology. Far from the lands of dwarves, elves, and other magical races. It was built in 937, five years ago. It was created under the agreement to further technology. The founders designated three council members to oversee the prosperity of the city.
But now, we are in a peaceful time, without guns or cannons. Instead, we have locomotives and dirigibles.
Powered by a dwarven creation that gathers mana...it acts commonly as a fuel for such high-tech. But it came at a cost! Mages who relied on mana were weakened, and after a while, they've become rare.
Despite the burst of technology, it is fairly rare to see outside of the city. The land is still stuck in the 'dark' ages, which makes the floating city a popular place to move to. There has been also an increase of beasts and monsters, lately, causing many towns to flee to the 'safe haven'. While other retreat from the mobs, other go to the city in search of knowledge.
The Mages' guild, once full of wizards, is now about trying to restore magic to the people, while keeping Technology. There are few actual mages in the guild, as most mages by now have either lost their power or stay at home. It is also known for researching new technology and just scholars in general. They are highly respected.
0 – 300 – During “The Age of Darkness and the Era of Enlightenment” the world was recovering from a war that was not very well known or recorded. This war plunged the world in a state of darkness, a world without written records. In 234, the “Era of Enlightenment” began and history was being recorded again. Scholars and scribes began to become popular and research and development began to form. Much of previous history was lost and forgotten. Elves were unable to remember much before the year 0 despite their age. Their numbers were quite weak and their main focus was repopulation. As for humans, it was around this time that they actually began to become more influential with other races and develop a less nomadic society. The dwarves however remain quite less open and most of their history was lost due to the lack of interest in recording anything at all. Only a few dwarves became involved in record keeping. 2 strong kingdoms rose up by the end of this age.
301 – 450 At the dawning of the Age of Magic, scholars and researchers began their research into a new concept known as Mana. Mana could be harvested into a person’s body and used to create miracles such as the manipulation of fire, water, wind, earth or lightning as well as having the ability to strengthen, weaken and amplify certain things such as senses, tools and clothes. By the end of the age of magic, most scholars and researchers had some form of magic that they could use, however, most people were unable to cast magic due to inability or lack of training that was needed for it. At the end of the century, a new kingdom began that was bent on progressing magic and mana. The elves progressed in magic the most and had the highest affinity towards it, while the dwarves had a very low affinity with mana and were unable to cast spells.
451 – 723 – By 451, the Age of Magic had become the Age of Mythology and Magic. The reason for this is when certain beings came into the world possessing enormous amounts of mana and were able to perform feats of magic that only people dreamed of. These people went by many names, some were even worshipped as gods or demons at this time. It was at this time that the War of the Heroes began. Due to a lust for power, each Kingdom sent out armies to conquer the other. The results were disastrous. Some “heroes” chose sides in the war, some chose to stay out. Those that stayed out became hunted and were attacked for refusal to fight. However, an unfortunate side effect happened at the death of these beings. Some towns and cities that faced the death of one of these beings also faced a dire consequence. These beings contained so much mana that the destruction of their body caused an explosion of mana. The result were destroyed towns or rather the people inside suffocated from mana poisoning. Above all the destruction that the world faced, The Kingdom of Magic was the one that suffered the most.
724 – 900 – The war of the kingdoms did not end. A rebellion occurred in which most kingdoms fell during this time. The rebellion did not solve the problem. Though the kingdoms fell, the races were not too pleased with each other. As a result the races separated and stuck with their own kin. Leaders of the races were a bit more understanding and still insisted on trying to keep trade with other races going. Peace slowly returned slowly. However, some places, especially in the Kingdom of Magic could not be entered due to the powerful mana poisoning that lingered there. Some of the magicians and scholars from the Kingdom of Magic stuck together. As a result they made the mage guild, a group that pursued the same ideals as the kingdom of magic did. They said some of the “heroes” had gone into hiding and made incredible places filled with artifacts and items that only people could dream of. They called these places dungeons.
901 – 940 - The beginning of the Age of Discovery. The Mage guild with the help of every race was able to create mini machines that ran on magic. These machines could perform tasks or just be entertainment for others. As a result, technology seem to flourish from that discovery. Dwarven researchers were able to create a machine that could gather mana from the air and convert it into energy that could power unbelievable machines that people had never seen before. However, this machine came at a cost! Mages who relied on mana storage and people with mana in general were weakened and after a while, it was rare to even see a mage with mana. As a result the mage guild lost members and lost many famed mages. The Mage guild is now a shadow of its former self and its mission now is to try and restore magic to not only the mages but to people in general while keeping the current technology. Most of the mage guild cannot use magic at all and they are seen more as scholars and researchers. They are highly respected despite their problems.
Monster Lore: :
Enderman-
During the war of the kingdoms a group of worshippers came into existence praying towards a hero that came to protect a certain town in the kingdom of magic. This hero was blessed with abilities that supersede magic. The type of magic was known as sorcery. With his abilities he used pearls as a catalyst to perform magic that could bend reality.
Revered as a god, he was able to protect the town from the onslaught of other nations. The villagers eventually made a shrine and emulated the hero by wearing necklaces of pearls. However, peace only lasts so long. Another hero came to the town and the battle against this hero would be unbelievable to anyone who heard of what occurred. Just a bit out of the village the two heroes fought. The hero defended his village but when he struck the final blow, the surge of magic exploded and corrupted the area as well as the hero himself. The area polluted with high amount of magic filled the pearl necklaces that the hero wore. The hero soon became corrupted and lost his mind.
He returned to the village. A boy was ill and the village asked for the aid of the hero to heal him. When the hero attempted to do so with a corrupted pearl, the pearls that adorned the villager’s necks became corrupted as well. As a result the villagers transformed. Their bodies deteriated and all that remained was a shadow. The villagers had turned into magical beasts known as Endermen. These beasts have similar powers to the hero and could manipulate space with the use of their pearls. Not known to death nor known to life, they exist in the world as lost beings. As for the hero himself, the history is lost to where he is or if he is still alive. Endermen continue to populate the world due to a horrible action. When one is killed by an enderman, the dead will become an enderman. However if one uses an enderpearl, they could risk becoming an enderman themselves.
Enderpearls are corrupted magical catalysts. When used, the magic is released and the magic will first affect the mind. The more an ender pearl is used, the more one’s mind is dampened and sanity is slowly decreased. Once the mind has been corrupted enough, the pearl’s magic will transform the person into an enderman state or will just turn them into an abomination. It is suggested that a person not use more than 3 in their whole life.
Nether Beasts -
During the age of magic, a discovery was made by a mining group that was digging into a solitary mountain. This mountain contained riches of ores and jewels wherever one dug and the minerals seemed endless. After a few months, a group of scholars from the Kingdom of magic came to observe the phenomenon. What they found was a high concentration of magic within the mountain. The phenomenon could not be explained though. Magic is the source of miracles but this is beyond creation of fire and water. From what the scholars could see, the magic was manipulating reality itself. It was around this time that the kingdom of magic became more interested in the mountain and began ordered a full exploration of the mountain.
As time passed, the kingdom of magic finally found the source of where the magic was coming from. A gate of some sort was found underneath the mountain, a gate that was made entirely out of obsidian. However it exhibited large amounts of magic from it. Upon closer inspection the magic it emitted was unusual. It emitted mana that forced most people to pass out. This magic was similar to a future concept during the war of the three kingdoms when a hero died. The Kingdom of Magic was more attracted to it though. Such a phenomenon could not be unexplored and with a large amount of resources put into it, the Kingdom of Magic pushed to research the gate.
What they found after months of study was how to activate it. However, even with the warnings to not activate such a gate, the kingdom did it anyways. The gate opened itself to a world that had yet been explored, the Nether. After this discovery, many entered from all kingdoms and none returned. Eventually, one person returned, though what he was now was unknown. He was no longer a man but some mutated beast. A mage by the name Alacarius was studying from outside the nether and found journals on the beast man. He revealed in his journals of what the nether was and what was inside. Though the reasons mana illuminates from the gate is still unknown, the nether is a land that sucks the soul out of the user and transforms their form into a beast known as a pigman zombie. Their soul is taken out and placed into a being known as a Ghast, one composed entirely out of the souls of the dead. This was all out of the analysis of the journal that Alacarius analyzed. He deemed the gate was dangerous being activated and ordered the destruction of it.
There was no choice, whatever went in would not return alive. Alacarius, along with a large group of people destroyed the gate as best as possible, eventually invoking powerful concentrated magic. The result was not what they expected. The gate exploded with mana and like the heroes destroyed in the war of the three kingdoms, the mana that came out caused disastrous results. However, what occurred was a reality distortion. It seems that the volcano had transformed into part of the nether. The men inside became beasts of the nether and thus Ghasts and pigman existed outside of the nether.
For reasons unexplained, they say the mountain gained a life upon the destruction of the gate and began forming something inside of itself. From what people know, mountain became a volcano due to the nether’s magic and the mountain also made a dungeon within itself making a passageway towards the broken gate as if trying to tell someone to do something to the gate. The monsters that were born from the explosion stay around the mountain never leaving as if trapped in that area. If one listens carefully, they can still hear the screams and cries of regret before the men inside died.
The volcano itself is dangerous to be around, with the high amount of monsters around it, the volcano also can cause one to go insane from just being around. Weak willed people become pigmen quickly if they enter the area. Once one becomes a pigmen, their soul becomes a weak ghast or does into a ghast that currently exists.
Common sense, people! Rules are subject to change.
1) No Meta gaming & Power gaming.
Meta gaming is the act of using info gotten out of character, in character. Power gaming can be a lot of things, like doing unrealistic attacks - or being over powered - or not letting the others have a chance!
2) Keep it PG 13!
This is a serious thing. Cybering or excessive gore is NOT allowed. A good rule of thumb is: Anything below the neck, and you should do a time skip. There will also be NO rape, it is a bannable offense.
3) When OOC, be respectful.
Use your mind for this one. This means no OOC-racism, or RAPE jokes. This includes listening to the staff.
4) Do not grief.
RP greifing in the wilds is fine, but this is usually limited to things such as door or windows. Stealing realistically in the wilds is allowed as well, this means a gem or two - not an entire anvil! In protected areas, stealing is not advised.
5) Death rules:
PVP is not allowed unless it is agreed for both parties. Also, you must have permission if you wish to kill someone's character off! Common sense, people!
6) Character rules:
Characters should not be imitations of someone from a series. No Batman. They are original characters for a reason!
Please take the lore into consideration! There are no demons, or aliens!
Also, ANY UN-APPROVED USE OF MAGIC, is a BANNABLE offense!
7) Land scarring:
Land scarring simply means that you ruin the land - such as ugly quarries.
Building in the wilds is allowed, but please consider some things!
Do not make 1 x 1 pillars, do not leave floating trees, please make REALISTIC buildings!
In addition, all mines should have supports! Thank you!
8) Hacks & Exploits:
NO!
More races and lore will come in the future..
Elysium is a non-discriminating place, accepting all with open arms.
Humans : :
The majority of the land. Compared to the rest, they have a short lifespan, but also because of this, they are the most common people. They are a well rounded group, leaving their futures bright and full of hope. They are the most diverse, coming in all sorts of appearances. Some who are in love with the magical arts train all their whole lives without being able to pull a bunny out of a hat. They used to be capable of having magic, but it is now far too rare.
Halflings : :
Little people that look like humans but have the size of a dwarf! They are best known for being quick of their feet and stealthy. They are either very adventurous people, or countrymen who prefer their farms. But stereotypes aren't good! Like with their height, they share their lack of magic with Dwarves. Because of this, some suggest that halflings were created from Humans and Dwarves mixed together!
Dwarves : :
Little, bearded people. Usually found in their generic mountain kingdoms, or the mines underneath. They are credited for the birth of the Mana Harvesters, which helped to the boost in technology. Lacking magic of their own, they say it's what created the harvesters in the first place. There are many reasons for them to be at the city though!
Elves : :
Long-eared, tall, long lived people who usually stay in their forest homes. Elves back home are usually selfish, only caring for their own race, but they managed to always avoid wars. On a whole they disapprove of the tech, but those who do, usually leave home for the city. Elves are not known to die of old-age. Elf children are a rare sight, especially since they grow up at a normal rate, like Humans. After they hit young-adulthood their aging process stop, and for the most part, they remain youthful. They are a minority in Elysium, and the ones who are there embrace their magic more then nature. Their looks usually depend on where they come from, and they are known to dye their hair.
Lizardfolk : :
The lizardfolk are large, scaly, primitive brutes, however, the smarter ones normally take up alchemy and are frailer. What they lack in intelligence they make up for in great strength, however, this normally results in them being feared. In society they are often looked down upon, being treated like trash, and forced to live in the Elysium slums, unable to grasp the luxury above them. If they are not in the slums they typically live in marshes, trudging through the thick water with ease. Their primitive towns often become subject to conquest by humans, mainly because they lack the wits to combat their new devices, which leaves them with distaste for mankind. When it comes to fighting, they have remarkable balance, the strength of an ox, natural scaled armor, and are a force to be reckoned with when they enter water, but, they are easily fooled.
Put some effort!

Mages are rare in these lands, the few that stick around the Mana-Barren lands are usually in the Mages' guild. They say that it takes a human's lifetime to become a mage, which is why most of them are elves. While there are a few, special, gifted people - it's not common.
Most mages' carry around accessories used as a mana-storage. A good example is a staff.

=/= Enchantment Guidelines
1. All Mages can apply Enchantment Books for themselves or people.
2. Enchanting should be done with no bookcases, unless you're approved as an advanced enchanter.
3. Combining Enchants is an Advanced Skill / But, repairing enchanted items is allowed for all Mages.
4. Unless permitted, enchantments, and especially big enchantments must be done in the Mages' Guild.
4b.In order to have a enchantment table outside of the guild, it would need to make RP sense & approved.
5. Enchantments are mana-sucking and tiring to do. Due to that, you can only enchant 3 things each IRL day.
5b. Even if you fail - you fail, no extra tries.
5c. Applying enchantments through books count towards the limit, as does combining enchants. Repairing Enchanted stuff does not, though.
6. The Mages' Guild advises that enchantments not be given out, as magical tools and weapons can be ultra dangerous.

2. For Optifine, open up your minecraft.jar and place all those little files into it. Simple as that, one quick drag and drop.
For the patcher, download it, run it, and you should be set!
For more in depth tutorials, check their pages.
Our server's aesthetics rely heavily on our custom texture pack, which tries to mix that steampunk feel, with medieval fantasy undertones.
It is a 32x32 pack, so be sure to get Optifine, or use the patcher!
We heavily advise you use it, but if it bothers you and you'd prefer something else, we recommend that at least you change your "Endstone" texture to something more, pipe-like. Endstone is changed into a greyish metal so that we can have pipes without sacrificing a useful block. To see the difference between our pack, and the default textures, use the spoiler.
Here is our texture packed view of Elysium. Beautiful!
E l y s i u m ► Created under the idea of peace, technology at the time had not been fully introduced to the world.
The city would unify and strengthen the bond between races. Kings and other such leaders sent their representatives to help run and overseer the town's creation, creating the 'council' which now leads the city. With the introduction of the dwarven tech, the process was sped up. On 937, it was finished.
The city is known as being the home of technology, the fact that it floats because of engines is enough for the claim. Though, a little known fact is that more then 75% of the residents live in the dark area below the floating city, it is usually referred as the 'slums'. Housing on the island is expensive, and usually reserved for the upper-class and nobles. An average resident would live in the 'slums' while working on the island, as jobs are always available. Elysium has four major districts, the Market, the Housing Area, the Noble Area, and the Technology Area.
Elysium is the capital of the land, Sylverant, but it doesn't mean much, as the land has become barren and full of ruins of old towns. Nevertheless, the floating city is a sight for sore eyes for the land. In addition, with the Mage Guild, the city has nearly everything one would need.
T h a l e ► A country town dedicated to farming. The town was formed shortly after Elysium's creation, by people who found it disappointing. Thale is just one of the many suppliers for the floating city. But unlike their floating neighbor, they don't have that much technology, only the train they use to make their deliveries.
Making an official, mob - protected, town costs 3000 coins. BUT, for every citizen you have, it costs 100 coins less. Towns get their own guards as well.
Before everything though, you must have at least a town-hall already built.
After you have your money and your citizens vouching for your town, just grab an admin's attention and you'll be set!

s --- In Character: Name: Lathron Erurainion Age: 637 Race: Elf Gender: Male Biography: Lathron was born into an elvish community, which was rare. Now, you would think that his parents would pay attention to him a lot for the first year or so, but that was the complete opposite. Lathron had to learn how to get food and change his own diapers by the time he was only 89. His parents, were exactly, the.... caring type. They only cared about their work, which was enchanting items, and selling them in the black market. As most elves, Lathron wanted to learn about magic, so he asked his dad if he could learn how to enchant. His dad smacked him, and told him to never ask that question again. Lathron soon felt like he was a waste, because he wasn't learning magic like the other kids. Normally, elves would go to school and learn about archery and magic there, but Lathron's parents were greedy and used all the money they obtained for themselves. By the time Lathron was 173, he decided that he needed another way to learn magic.
One day, Lathron was wandering the streets when he saw a teacher walking home from school. He went up to him and asked him if he could teach him how to use magic, but the response was no. Day after day, Lathron kept asking until the teacher said yes. So, Lathron was told to meet the teacher at the Spire, which he did. However, he was met by a ball of magic, and he blacked out. So, began his journey, to learn about magic, and the odds and ends of it. Lathron ended up learning about how to enchant, which was his goal, but he didn't learn much until, the Teacher fell sick. With his last words, he told Lathron to go to Elysium.
Lathron, heeded the wise words and began to prepare for his journey. He packed every essential items that an elf would need. Books, Bow and Arrows, A Wooden Sword, and many herbs. As he was packing, he decided to bring along some money, but he didn't have any on him at the time, so he went to the Teacher's house to nab some spare coins. While there, he noticed two shadowy figures in the house when he opened the door. Slowly, he pulled out his bow and notched an arrow. He took aim at the person with long hair and fired.
A piercing scream was heard for miles as the arrow entered the neck of the victim. The taller figure turned around and shot a ball of fire at Lathron. Lathron dodged the fireball but his exit burst into flames. Lathron quickly notched another arrow, and put down the woman. The man stood up, and walked out of the shadows, and Lathron recognized him immediately, as his own father, who didn't care about him during his early years. This, combined with the fact that he was stealing from his mentor's house, ed him off, and he pulled out his wooden sword and charged at his dad. His dad, frozen in his spot, accepted the sword and the sword plunged into his abdomen, and once Lathron pulled it out, he crumpled to the floor, dead.
After the incident, Lathron gathered his composure and began to look for more loose change to pay for travel expenses. He ended up finding around 45 gold, which was enough to get him to the docks, but not much further. So he had to create a plan, to get to Elysium. So, after weeks of preparing, Lathron began his way to Elysium, by first, renting a horse, which he gave back at the other store at the docks, which brought him to the docks, and left him with 12 Gold left. With that gold, Lathron bought a sailor outfit, and crept onto the boat, which was headed to Elysium.
As he boarded the boat, he noticed that many high end elves were on, and that the crew was to be on their best behavior. During the boat ride, the captain did a head count and noticed that there was an extra crew member. Normally, he wouldn't mind, but since the rich elves were on, he had to make sure that nobody got on, to assassinate one of them. So, he told all of the crew to line up, and he asked each person their name. Once he got to Lathron, he asked him for his name, so Lathron obliged. The captain told him, that he had never heard of him, and then, told the crew to grab him and investigate him, to see if he was a murderer, or something of the sorts.
As Lathron was getting pulled into the investigation room, or the lower decks. He had a bloody lip and a black eye, from when he was apprehended. The captain soon came down to talk to Lathron asking him cliche questions such as "Who are you?" and "Why are you here?" and "Who do you want to kill?". Lathron answered the questions, but not extensively. He did tell them his name, but not why he was on the boat. Soon, the captain came to the conclusion, that Lathron wasn't a threat and that he was a freeloader, who came on the boat without paying. However, since he was working for most of the time, Lathron paid off the debt, and he was allowed to leave, once the boat landed in Elysium.
Lathron, a little scared after almost being killed, decided to ask some of the elves, how they were doing. Most answered him with a "I'm doing well" or "Ok". There was one elf, who had her head buried in a newspaper. As Lathron approached her, she took a stick and knocked him out cold. This alarmed everyone, and they called for help. As crew members were entering the room, she took a bow and arrow and quickly shot down crew member after crew member, as they entered. Once she ran out of arrows, she began to shoot balls of fire at the door, which caused major structural damage to the boat. Soon, it was the woman and the Captain. As the woman shot fireballs, the Captain shot arrows. The arrows and fire tended to collide which caused a fire arrow to fly at the woman. After a minute of dodging and weaving, the woman grew sluggish and started to slow down, and that is when the Captain took advantage, and took the battle to Close Quarters Combat. As the captain grew close, he swung his fist and practically, broke the woman in half.
After the battle, the boat was on fire, and there was no way to save it, so the Captain told everyone to bail, considering that they could see Elysium. As everyone was bailing, Lathron woke up, and discovered the mayhem that occurred. He, like the others, bailed and swam to shore. Everyone was safe, but all items were lost. Now Lathron begins a new journey in Elysium. He still doesn't know what the teacher meant by going to Elysium, but he was there, and he decided to look for a Mage's Guild first. Lathron now has to gain the trust of the locals, and learn about the land, but, after the boat incident, he has another goal. To find out who the woman on the boat was, and what she wanted.
Appearance: He is like any other elf, but he has green eyes, which is surprisingly uncommon. He is a normal height for an elf, standing at 5' 10". He has muscle on him, but is skinny like most of the other elves. His hands look humanly, h, instead of elfish, which is odd. His hair is a brownish colour and short. http://www.minecraft...73747/wood-elf/
MAGE APP Name: Lathron Erurainion Age: 637 Race: Elf How did they learn magic?: Well, Lathron was born into an enchanting family but that doesn't mean that he was taught how to use it. His parents often neglected him, and that lead to Lathron not.... learning magic as other elves usually did. His parents couldn't afford to send him to a proper school, since they made money, selling stolen goods that they enchanted, in the black market. Since his parents were never there for Lathron, he found an alternative way to learn magic. One day, he found a teacher walking home from a long day of work. Lathron went up to the man and asked him if he could help Lathron learn more about magic. Naturally, the teacher told Lathron to get away, so he did. The next day, Lathron did the same thing, with no avail. Day after day, Lathron kept asking the teacher to train him, all with the same answer; No.
One day, the teacher finally agreed to train Lathron. Lathron never knew if the teacher actually cared, or if he was annoyed by the constant nagging. So the teacher told him to meet at the Spire at Saturday at 3:00. So, Lathron met the teacher at the Spire, and as soon as Lathron came into view, the teacher blasted him with his strongest magic, and Lathron flew back, and blacked out immediately. When Lathron woke up, he was in the middle of a forest, and had no sense of his surroundings, or where he was. He looked around and found a note tucked in his pocket. "Experience, is the best way to learn". Lathron also found a compass in his other pocket. So days passed and Lathron actually began to live in the wild, and he learned how to create a spear to obtain food, and to protect him from monsters at night. Soon, Lathron became... one with nature, He became an expert at archery, and crafting spears. However, he was soon removed from his jungle, when the teacher interrupted him, saying that he had been watching Lathron the whole time, and that, now began his true magic training. The teacher introduced himself as Eleywn and told Lathron that he had a lot of training to do, if he wanted to come close, to being a Master Mage. Eleywn asked Lathron what he wanted to learn, and Lathron responded with one word. Enchanting. It was his dream to follow in his "parents" foot steps and become a great enchanter, like them. Eleywn nodded and ushered Lathron to his lab/mage room. Lathron looked around in awe at all the fancy potions and scrolls on the walls and in vials. However, one thing caught his eye. Something that he had seen plenty around his house. An enchanting table.
Eleywn noticed Lathron's sudden interest in the table, and asked him if he had seen one before. Lathron nodded, but his eyes were glazed on the enchanting table. He had only seen glimpses of the table when his mom and dad opened the door to enter, or leave the enchanting room at his house. Eleywn explained how an enchanting table worked, and how to use it. Lathron was overjoyed and couldn't wait to use it, however, his ime using it would be short. After a couple weeks of learning the basics of enchanting, Eleywn thought that Lathron could learn some more advanced tips, such as enchanting tools and armour, but Eleywn could only teach him the basics, before he became deadly ill. Lathron asked Eleywn if he could do anything, but Eleywn shook his head and told Lathron that there was nothing that he could do. Eleywn, with his last breath told Lathron to do one thing. Go to Elysium.
Are they in the Mages' guild, and if not- will they join?: Lathron will join in the future, if his heart desires.
What type of things will they do with magic?: Lathron isn't one to fight unless he feels like he, or one of his friends are in danger. Because of that, Lathron doesn't know much about the fighting and harming magic, but he knows more about passive magic, so he intends to use that in Elysium, for anyone who has the coin.
Pookapotamus: Denied. I understand you don't have all the time in the world, but please finish all fields before posting your app. Also, there is no Mage College. A guild, but I understood what you meant. Also, not many can enchant, something we should've (If we hadn't already) stated in the OP. Note that no-one has magic from the start, that's why we have a magic app and a Mage cap. Oh, and change your age. 666 isn't funny. If you want to be in that range, be 665 or less, or 667 or more. There also would be no 'magic schools' you could be trained by the guild, should you wish to apply for magic, but there are no schools outright.

Biography:
*CLASH* The war rages on in the flat lands, heard by a young couple hiding within a cave on the sidelines of the battle unseen. The women, she had a natural beauty about her. Her face appeared to glow bright, but not from light, from pure skin tone. She had long pointed ears poking out of her silky blonde hair. Her eyes were piercing sky blue, complementing her thin, pink rose lips. Behind her sat a man, his arms holding her in a protective state. He had a sharp face, also a light skin tone but he kept a strong, confident, and stern expression on his face. His long, brown hair swept across his face, only showing slivers of his leaf green eyes. Both of them had a tint of concern in their faces, they were looking at was was bared within the woman's arms. A child, wrapped in cloth, lay within her arms. So content... sleeping. How, you may ask, can one sleep as a battle is roaring just outside? Well... I cannot answer this, only guess. Could it be love that had commanded this child to sleep? I do not know.
Steps could be heard approaching the cave... The man stood, grasping one of the two bows leaning against the cave walls. He retrieved an arrow from the quiver lying on his back and knocked it. Grunts could be heard coming closer and closer. Around the corner appeared five Orcs, ugly as imagined. The Orcs had stringy hair soaked with sweat from the battle. They had glossy green and red skin, with scrawny bodies. Their teeth, or what was left of their teeth, dripped with the blood of their many victims. The man shot a single arrow, it hit the cave wall and rebounded going directly through two of the five Orcs heads. As he knocked another the Orcs charged, the woman screaming, they attempted to restrain the man with force but he took the arrow by hand and put it through another's neck. One of the remaining Orcs pounced on the man, taking him to the ground. The Orc than retrieved one of the mans arrows and plunged it through his heart. The woman cried out in agony as her husband was dying. Both Orcs than pursued on the woman, she was strong willed though. Pure light started conducting off her body as she cradled the child, the Orcs became weary of approaching. You could hear the woman chanting in a different tongue as she glowed brighter and brighter. One of the Orcs became tired of this and struck the woman with his scythe, it immediately shattered and the pieces plunged into multiple parts of both the Orcs killing them. The light emitting from this small cave traveled to the battle field. It blinded most, everyone questioning what was happening.
In an instant the light stopped. One man stepped into the cave, all on the battle field had seized to watch. The man stepped out with only a child in his arms, the woman no where to be found. The child awoke, it stared into the mans deep brown eyes and the man seemed disturbed, he almost dropped the child. In the crowd an Orc called out "Killz dem!". In less than a second the entire crowd was pushing to reach their enemy. The battle returned to how it was, although this time the Orcs were fighting for a helpless child. The man, still holding the child in his arms, fled the scene without being followed. On his travels he seemed to know the world well as he looked to know where he was going. He arrived at an abandoned village, seemingly human. This was only for a short while, possibly a few days they stayed the night in one of the houses. The man then brought this child to his home city and raised him alone. This child had been named Hauthrin.
Hauthrin grew up just like any other child, other than his looks not maturing as fast as the others. Being and Elf was a strong point for Hauthrin since all the other kids were so fascinated by living among one, although the parents were not pleased. He had made many friends and got close to his step-family. When Hauthrin was twenty-six there was an attack on the city, he had to fight in this attack along side others from the city. Within minutes many were injured and some dead. The entire city was a battle zone. Hauthrin was fighting around the area of his home, as he peered into the window he spotted a large, bloodied up, Orc standing over top his step-father. Hauthrin barged in to find his father with a scythe plunged into his stomach. He shot an arrow directly through the Orcs neck. Rushing up to his father Hauthrin knelt at his side and pulled the scythe from his stomach. "Hau-hauthrin.... I am not going to make it." he spoke.
"Yes you are!" Hauthrin spoke with tears in his eyes.
"Hauthrin... when I first held you... I saw something in your eyes, a vision. You are special." That was the last sentence he ever spoke. One thousand years had past until Hauthrin discovered his potential. He encountered a Dwarven rune master that at first seemed a bit deranged. This Dwarf saw something in Hauthrin, a potential of good... and evil. This Dwarf taught Hauthrin of what he could do... he discovered he possessed magic. The rest of Hauthrins life story has not yet been written, but is to come. He is traveling alone, still practicing his skills.

Sphen727: Denied. You need a paragraph, which is more than 3 sentences. Go for 7 or 8, and make them look good, with grammar and Capital Letters. And the appearance "A Pirate" doesn't work. Detail it, or give us a picture of your skin.
CravedOre: Accepted, though I don't believe that Elves are immortal on this server, so they could die of age, so if you could take that into consideration, that would be great! Your magic app seems a bit shaky, though. His mother COULD have given him magic but... it seems like he would still need to train, maybe it wouldn't take him as long as others, but it just seems OverPowered(OP) to give him magic right off the bat, like that. Also, and this is just me saying something, but don't expect everyone to know who you are right off the bat either, especially if you're a rogue mage. Aside from that, great app!

Age: 34
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Biography: They were born into a family of merchants and traders. Her mother was a shopkeeper, she knew how to correctly sell stuff and always knew the perfect prices. Meanwhile her father often is away for long periods of time to explore and gather objects for the store. Jill always liked to help her mother run the store, getting some of her knowledge by doing this.
Although both her parents are still alive, they are rather old and weak so she took up her parent's business. She now owns the store, and she brought it upon herself to explore the world herself and gather things for the store. However that means she isn't there so the shop is often closed or being ran by another person. When at the store she often overprices her items, since she has less stock and its harder to get. Not to mention pricing things just wasn't one of the skills her parents taught her correctly.
She often tries to be diplomatic since running the store made her slightly good at that. She almost always attempts to be peaceful before going to violence. She isn't too powerful, but if needed she can pack a decent punch due to the amount of time she spent exploring and digging and stuff.
Appearance: Orange hair in a ponytail, green dress with gloves, red striped socks, and a white hat. (I have a picture somewhere though) Actual picture though: http://sta.sh/010k9bbdcbio

(( YOU need to send in both applications if you wish to be a mage! There is going to be a limit of mages available, so put some effort into it, people! ))

It is now 5 years old.

T h a l e ► A country town dedicated to farming. The town was formed shortly after Elysium's creation, by people who found it disappointing. Thale is just one of the many suppliers for the floating city. But unlike their floating neighbor, they don't have that much technology, only the train they use to make their deliveries.
Thale is currently ran by the elected Jarl, Ryzo.

--- In Character: Name: Lathron Erurainion
Age: 637
Race: Elf
Gender: Male
Biography: Lathron was born into an elvish community, which was rare.
MAGE APP
Name: Lathron Erurainion
Age: 637
Race: Elf
How did they learn magic?: Well, Lathron was born into an enchanting family but that doesn't mean that he was taught how to use it.

Appearance: He is a tall Elf around 6' 7" and weighing 190lbs. He has long blonde hair that hangs down his upper back. He has ocean blue eyes and a emotionless face usually taken as wise by others. He wears white robes.
