Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? I would go up to the dwarf and see what he has for sale if he has nothing i would give him a few minas and see if he needed anything else.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? I would see what the problem was if the orc is just picking on the dwarf then i would tell him to go away. If the orc is just a bandit scaring a dwarf then i would try my best to keep everyone happy without disobaying any law's.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: I would help the man up and collect the minas, i would give them to him and maby for helping him

He might give me a few.

Do you have a good grip on English grammar and the English language?:
Yes, my grammar skills are efficient. I have been studying English composition for over four years now to; hopefully, improve my writing skills so that I will might be able to become a novelist.
Have you had any previous experience in roleplaying?:
Yes, I have been a part of two other role-play servers however, they weren’t as…intense as this server.
Have you read and understood and agree to the rules?:
Yes, I have. I have reviewed the rules and plan to review it in the future if I have any questions or uncertainties.
How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?:
I heard about this server from my friend who I have played with on another roleplay server. He told me that this server was a hardcore RP server which was something I had been looking for a while. He gave me a few links to the lore (mostly races and history) and I was instantly interested.

Definitions

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is:
Role-play is the act of becoming an imaginary character that you make real by personifying and acting out their created personality, behaviors and thoughts as they would; Role-play is best done when the person acts as their character would solely, without the restraint of their personal feelings.
In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is:
Metagaming is, to the most of my knowledge, using information in role-play that you usually would not have. An example would be using information gained on the forums or said in OOC to aid yourself in the future while roleplaying.
In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is:
Power emoting is when someone makes their character irrationally strong or powerful. This can be in essentially every sense: a person who is smarter than everyone else, more politically powerful. I see power emoting as someone who role-plays and makes their character the “best” at something without giving themselves the possibility of being defeated.

In-Character Details

Character Name: Lorei
Character Race: Kharajyr
Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:
Lorei is a young Kha’ Cheetrah. She is curious by nature and an eager learner. However, she fears making mistakes and shaming her associates and fellow Kharajyrs (strangers and non-Kharajyrs are ignored for the most part). As a kitten, Lorei has been independent and filled with potential and wild dreams. She would talk her parents to death about her ambitions and wild imaginative stories.
Now, she wants to take hold of her previous stories and use them to entertain the public, she wants to become a writer. More than that, she wants to explore the lands of Asulon to fuel her imagination and teach herself the ways of others. Despite wanting to be knowledgeable about all cultures and people, she lacks the tact to restrain her tongue from what might be offensive to others. She never truly means any harm; it’s just that she doesn’t see the wrong in saying what is on her mind at that moment.
What are your characters ambitions?: To explore the cultures of others and enlighten others with the fictional and true tales of the world as she views it. She would love to have a stable bookstore of some sort but because she is just beginning she is fine being something similar to a traveling merchant.
Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here:
Is there anything else you would like to say about your character:
Despite being seemingly lighthearted, she is just as proud as other Kharajyrs about her culture. She does not take advice well from others, especially those she sees as outsiders. These people might not exactly be Kharajyrs but people who have proven their loyalty to her as friends.

I inhale deeply, closing my eyes as a stretch shortly in the middle of the road. It felt good to be with people again even if they were human and seemed to be in permanent shock at seeing a Kharajyr in one of their towns. I exhale, moving to the side of the busy road as people bump and weave past me. As I move to the left, I see the stalls of merchants calling to the people passing by, most with little luck.

I watch their lobbying for a moment with small amusement, idle jealousy and sympathy welling up inside of me before I too begin moving again, intending on ignoring them all like the humans in front of me had. However, as I pass the last meager looking stall the dwarven man inside catches my eye.
He is sturdy looking, eyes brown and filled with hope and determination. As he sees me stop, he motions toward me and I slowly come toward him.

“Say,” The dwarf begins. “It ain’ oft’n I see a cat won’r so far aw’e from ‘ome.”
The dwarf then smiles, his teeth slightly colored and broken. The insult wasn’t meant, so I let the fact he called me a cat go and give him a small smile back.

“I am a traveler as well, I also thought of being a merchant but, uh,” I think quickly, eyeing the knick-knacks and gems he has scattered around. “I don’t have that much to my name as of right now.”

The dwarf hums and leans back on his stool. He sighs as he looks past me, eyes scanning for any possible customers before he chuckles and gestures to the stool on the outside of his stand.
“I dun’ think I’ll ‘e avin’ any buy’rs. Why ‘ont we ‘ave a chat?”

I smile, eager to come into the shade as I sit and wait for the dwarf to speak.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

The night air is warm but there is a persistent breeze that chills my fur as I continue on the worn, dirt path. As I continue, I let out a yawn. I have been ready to rest for a while now, but there haven’t been any inns or friendly people eager to share their camp with a wandering soul. I shake my head, trying to clear myself of the drowsy haze and I nearly bite my tongue as an threatening growl cuts through the once calm silence of the night.

I feel my fur raise slightly in apprehension as I, despite the nagging feeling that I should be running the opposite way—where it would undoubtedly be safer—I continue on, paws stiffly sifting through the dirt.

The sight that I come to almost makes me obey my instinctual cowardice; an orc was snarling at a tremblign dwarf who seemed to be muttering frightened phrases to the angry beast. I pause, wondering what I could do in this situation, I wasn’t a fighter—I couldn’t scare the beast away—I would only make the orc angrier if I tried to speak with it. Was there anything I could do?

I sigh, shaking my head at my own worthlessness as I step into the moonlight and into the vision of both figures.

“Oh, thank ya—Kharajyr woman, please help me. This, this--!”

The orc lets out a savage noise, effectively silencing the dwarf. “Dwarf stole. Dwarf return or be punish.”

My eyes narrow as I quickly see what is going on. “This dwarf stole from you, or a dwarf stole from you?”
The orc snorts, turning back to the dwarf who backs hard into the trunk of the tree behind him. The weakness of the dwarf is…confusing. This particular dwarf seems strange and suspicious but she decides to help the man anyway.

“Orc,” Said creature turns to look at me testily. “I will give you all the gold that is in this bag if you let this thief go, deal?” I throw one of my heaviest satchels at the beast who catches it with greedy glee, about to open it.

“Ah, you mustn’t open it.” I say, calmly. “If you do, the gold inside with turn into nothing but rocks. You must be careful. Go, hurry home before the magic turns back on itself!”

The orc lets out a grunt and turns to run into the darkness, excitedly panting at its treasure.

The dwarf I saved sighs and sinks down the trunk until he hits the ground. “I never knew Kharajyrs can learn magic…”

“I’m sure there are some that can,” I respond quickly. “I can’t, the satchel was filled with rocks to begin with. If we are lucky the brute will listen and won’t find out the truth until we are far gone…”

The dwarf lets out an uneasy chuckle as I turn and stare at the shifting nature and run down pile the charging orc created.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick, looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenseless man. What does your character do?:

The old man is fragile and weak, making so many questions appear in my mind. Where is this man’s family? Why is he walking alone? Where are the men that should be protecting their grandfather? As the man’s walking stick breaks, I wonder why he hasn’t been robbed yet, especially with the many coins that he had with him.

I swallow with a bit of difficulty, jealousy and temptation making my movements a bit slow. This man…he is weak. I should be able to take what I want and run away before he would even realize what had happened. But then I look at his face and I see that his wise and knowing eyes have locked onto my face.

No, I think, this is a trap. The man’s eyes show that he knows what I was thinking…that he expects me to steal from him. I won’t. I won’t prove him right.

I grit my teeth, force myself to stop in front of him and yank the man to his feet. He lets out a startled and shocked yelp, inhaling sharply as I move away from him and scoop the Minas quickly into my hands, throw the coins into his dropped bag and toss the untied pouch at him again.
Without even speaking to the man, I pass him up and begin walking again. That man probably got his fortune by setting up unfortunate and desperate travelers and taking the reward for turning in thieves. I let out a strangled noise, upset by the injustice of the act.

As I finger the few coins in my satchel, I reason with myself. It wouldn’t have been fair if I let him have all of his Minas back, especially if it belonged to those who wouldn’t have stolen had he not provoked them. I nod, satisfied in the logic of my thievery as I continue to travel.

I was born on one of the many islands that surround the large landmass of Asulon. My father was a blacksmith, and my mother worked the farms. We were a poor family. One day, my father was called in to go to the wars. He never came back. We then moved to the central landmass. I grew up a fine lad, with
bulging muscles, and blonde, flowing hair. Then, tragedy struck. My mother, who I had cared for for so long, was stricken with disease.

She died within the year. I strove to fight against the creatures who had so brutally murdered my father, and eventually moved to Solace. The following few years, I trained in swordfighting, and mastery of the art of war. My eyes grew keen. I was finally ready.

The dwarf looked like a sneakthief from the first time I saw him. Oh, sure. He looked like a "poor dwarf looking to make a living", but I could see his true purpose. In the dark alleyways beside him, I could see the thugs waiting to pounce as the dwarf's victims were lured by the shivering, tragic dwarf. I spat on the cobblestone beneath me and walked off, disgusted.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?
I walked towards the Orc, sword drawn. "Look, mate. You and I both know that that dwarf isn't a very good candidate for threatening. And those threats! They could hardly scare a fly. I know a few threats myself. How about this one?" I thrust the sword towards the orc's heart quickly, then pull back just before it touches his chest. "Now that's a threat!"

"Alright, old man. You've had your fun. As soon as I bend down to pick that up, your hired goons will attack me, is that it? Well, I'm not having any of it!" I kick the purse slightly, so it lands on his head.

"Alright, men. Are you going to come and fight? Or shall I just take all the money from your master, so you won't have any payment? I don't normally deal with bandits, you know, but I could take you!" Silence. Oh dear. I think he wasn't trying to trick me.

eladelad4, 14, eastern time zone I think, ohio, yes to the english grammer thing(don't care about how I type this though), um not that much but the experience I have had I think I am pretty good.YES, just searching for a cool server like minez on this website.
When I role-play it depends on the environment, but for minecraft I would probably go for a dark veteran of some kind, or a happy peasent
just trying to make a living. basicly something funny, cool, awsome, or interesting. I have no idea what power emoting is but if it is being extremely emotional um I guess I could do that but it depends. gilidan, elf, some sorta demon. gilidan is a wise druid elf that seeks adventure and magic. Ok its a randomly generated name from world of warcraft that I loved. And kinda made a backstory for him. AND MINECRAFT SAYS I CAN'T HAVE SKINS... so im stupid steve... it sucks...
1st question response: I would see what he had to sell and if it was something interesting I would buy it if I could afford it. And if I couldn't or didn't like anything I would be polite about it.
2nd question response:Druids can someone vines so: I would hold them both down and find out both sides of the story. then crush the evil one VERY PAINFULLY. hehe.
3rd question response: Help the man up and give him back the money and get him a better stick.
please whitelist me and tell me the ip adress please.

My birthplace. My name is Sade Carthos. I know my mother and fathers names, however they were murdered when I was a young child. I do not remember their faces but I remember their killers face perfectly. His sturn face, crooked cheekbones. I would never be so lucky to avenge the death of my family, at least not for many years. I was sent away to Asulon soon after, however, I did not want to leave. It was not my choice. My brother would not let me stay here as long as there was a blade eager to taste my blood. It was lucky he sent me so soon, both my servant and my brother were slaughtered as they slept. Now, I am the last of my bloodline and now a new king rules the throne that my father once sat upon. I fear that if I should return home I will be treated undoubtedly as the rest of my family was.

On my arrival to Asulon I was taken in by a simple farmer and his family. I housed myself under the sturdy roof of a barn. I worked as a farmhand, tending to the animals and working off the land. It was hard work and for 6 years I stayed with my new family. Even though we did not share blood, I loved them as I loved my previous family, and to this very day I know they loved me back. The work made me sturdy, well built and athletic. I did not know much about combat, I remember only vaguely the art of battle that my brother and father once taught me. My hair has grown long and almost reaches the base of my neck. The blonde strands curl at the ends. I could defend my new family from predators. However I could not defend my own father from the illness that took him from me. It was soon after that my half-sister would become ill as my father was. I new I couldn't stay. I took a vow to never rest until my family bee cured from this illness. And so, I traveled far from my home to the unknown land that stretches out before my feet.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenseless man. What does your character do?: I am surprised to see the old man crumble to the ground. He moans quietly, He stares into my own eyes. I see fear, the same fear I saw in my fathers eyes as he slipped from reality. A pile of Minas has piled at my feet. I crouch down and roll the Minas around in the center of the palm of my hand. The Minas could almost definitely aid me in my quest to find a cure. However I would be committing a felony, Stealing from the weak. I would not do such a thing. I could not. I lay down my own walking stick and scoop the coins up in the hands. The old mans first impression of my actions left him bowing his head sobbing. I Pour the coins into the pouch and lay it in front of him just enough for him to see it. As his head lifts I hold my hand to him. "thankyou" He whispers softly. I help him to his feet and put the stick in his hands. Saying nothing, I turn to walk away but he cries; "wait!" I turn and face him, His free hand extended, holding a singular gem. I smile at his offer. "Be safe, these roads are hard. Keep that purse somewhere hidden." I take the gem from the man and turn to walk away, no more words are spoken and I do not turn back.

There happened to be bandits who had attacked, and Will's father ran toward the village with his pitchfork. when Will finally got there, his father and mother were dead, most of the village was burnt or burning. He remembered his sister and ran to there small farmhouse. When he found the cellar, it was under a beam.It was being banged on, so Will opened it after removing the beam to find his sister. together, they got out of the house, but a beam fell and landed on his sisters leg. Will tried to get her out, but the wall collapsed and killed her.He Walked out of the village, with one last sad look, He held his money pouch and a bundle with his personal items he managed to find. he walked along the road.He stopped at a village and rested a few days there. He went on the road to find the human capital.

When he was about to go in the city, He looked up and realized it wasn't the capital, but a town nearby. So he walked along the road, passing villages. he hadn't realized how far away from the capital his village was. he was a few miles away when a group of bandits ambushed him and knocked him unconscious. When his eyelids finally rose, he found he was tied up in a camp near the city. He wriggled his arms, and he discovered he was tied in an old and frail rope, so he broke the rope after tossing and turning quite a bit, and when he got down, he found his items nearby guarded by a bandit. he grabbed a sword from a rack, snuck up behind the bandit, and sliced his head open. he grabbed his things and ran off to some nearby fields, where he would soon discover that he was a couple miles away. so he started walking towards the capital, where the adventure of his life would start.

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is:Many children participate in a form of role-playing known as make believe, wherein they adopt certain roles such as doctor and act out those roles in character. Sometimes make believe adopts an oppositional nature, resulting in games such as cops and robbers. but for older people it is instead used in online and board games mostly in fantasy games.

"Sean puts his hand in John's pocket and fumbles for his wallet."
"Sean swings his sword at John's neck."
Power emoting describes the abuse of this system when players use emotes to describe an action that takes away the ability of another player to respond or prevent it. For example:
"Sean picks John's pocket and steals his wallet."
"Sean cuts off John's head and throws it in a ditch."
These are considered god emotes because John cannot prevent the actions from happening.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

Having arived at the Human City of Arethor only recently and seeing all the other shop keepers who were fairly well off I was surprised when I saw that this dwarf was very poor and felt pity towards him so I said, "What wares do you sell friend?"
"I sell general goods, do you wish to buy something?" the dwarf replied
so I went to look at his wares and was surprised to find they were of extreme quality and so I decided to by a set of heavy leather armour from him, which cheered him no end for it was his First sale during his time in Arethor and he said to me "thank you friend you may come again any time".

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

I carefully approach the two with a big smile on my face, saying, "Well met friends! How are you on this fine night!" I stand next to the dwarf to indicate I will fight with her if necessary. The Orc is baffled by this show of friendship in the night and tells me to be on my way. I rest my hand on my sword whilst still smiling and say, "Friend orc I am here to meet with this lovely lady and would be very distressed is something untoward should happen to her, as she has hired me to see to her well being. Please, make your intentions known so that we can be about our business."
The Orc considers me, with my well-used fighting gear and hard eyes and says, "Well, you clever little halfling [profanity="bastard"], I'll be off for now. But you watch your back, slick", and he disappears into the night.
I watch him leave and turn to the dwarf in time to feel the sharp sting of a slap from her heavy hand. "don't even think about trying anything clever-pants!" and she marches off into the night leaving me stumped.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. As the old man fell I rushed to him to help him get up again and I asked if he was alright and he replied "thank you, and yes I am"
I then busy myself collecting the Minas and put all of them back into the bag and give it to the old man who thanked me graciously and then I offered my services to help him get home again and so I took the old man home and once we got there he gave me a coin as his thanks and I went my own way from there.

Character Name: Skyrix Halisstrad
Character Race: Dark Elf
Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:
Running, always running, where to? Why? I don’t know, I have been running for as long as I can remember, through the forest, forever by the sides of the only friends I have known. That may seem like an amazing thing, but the trees were what I was referring to, they are the only friends I have known. The only friends I can remember having, just like me running all I can remember. For me, the fact that I can remember the trees are my friends is enough to put a slight smile to my face. It’s amazing how someones head works, really a magical thing to me. You see one day you can have your head filled with years of memories and it takes such a small thing to change that, such a small inconvenience to shake up the balance, what was that thing you may think? Well that is another downside to the “side-effect” of the accident, you forget what happened.

All I do remember is what occurred after I woke up in, a seemingly abandoned house, who owned it, beats me but it did give me shelter for the following couple of nights from the harshness of the world. From the strange slumber, did I wake. Opening my eyelids ever so slowly, as if I was opening them for the first time and afraid I will break them. The first sight that came to me was that of the sunshine, shining through a hole in the wall. Blinking ever so slowly, I raised my back and sat up on top of what looked like a hard surface of red wool. Sliding off of the wool as gently as can be done, feet hitting the ground with no sound.

As soon as my bearings were settled, I took my time to walk towards the doorway. As I approached it, my legs collapsed and I fell to the floor. All that could be done from there is crawl, crawl towards the doorway. As I reached the doorway I saw that there was some water in the distant, this for reasons I don’t seem to understand, made me gain some strength to stand up again, with the help of the door frame. I walked, well more correctly limped, towards the water as carefully as I could. As I made it to the water, I bent down and washed my face and had a good drink, as if I have never had water in my life.

As I lifted my face away, dripping with water, I took a good look at my face. My skin being a darker colour than the colours around me, my hair short and wet was a grey colour and pointy sharp ears, this told me one thing. I am an Elf, or more correctly a Dark Elf. The one thing I didn’t understand is that my eyes, the colour more correctly. Were a colour of deep red, or a dark crimson, this scared me but for some strange reason made me comfortable. This I do not understand but what I do understand now is what I look like and that is all that matters for now.

That is all I know, from that day I lived day by day on my own. I eventually found a dark forest and decided to call that home. How long I have been on my own? I don’t even know. I let my hair grow, but it never grew fast. One day in particular, not that long ago to be honest, I saw a man getting attacked by a strange looking monster. Of course the monster killed this man, I was upset by this but thought it as a great opportunity to steal some supplies and some clothes. For a while now the clothes I wore did not fit me completely and I needed some that fits. So I threw something behind the monster to distract it, I ran in and stole the clothes and ran away.

This is my story, or well the beginning of my story as it has only really begun.

What are your characters ambitions?: To survive and learn what type of person he is

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?
Well this would depend on if I have coin or not, so I shall give you two responses.

Response One:
I see this Dwarf selling his wares to those who are around him. I wander over to the shop keep and browse their wares and converse with the person, being as friendly as I could be. If there is something there that I would want to buy and I can afford it, I would buy that and give a tip to the shopkeep. If there isn’t something there I wanted, I would buy something cheap but pay over the price of what it is.

Response Two:
seeing this Dwarf, and having a similar problem of little to no coin I would wander over and offer the shopkeep my help, if they would accept I would do what I could to help them. Be it advertise the shop to even going out and collecting some supplies to re-stock, I would be more than glad to help them in their ambitions.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?
I would walk into the mix, trying to get in between them. Ask why there is an argument happening, and try to get to the bottom of it. If I have the ability to stop it, I would. If it escalates to a fight and they are both willing to fight, I would simply leave the area as no matter what I say nothing would be done. If, say the Dwarf is the victim and doesn’t want to fight I would try my hardest to get in between them and give time for the Dwarf to escape and vice versa.

What does your character do?:
I would help the man to his feet, or help him sit down properly. When he is comfortable, I would carry on to pick up all the coins and proceed to put them into a bag of my own. Giving said bag to the old man, so that his coins do not spill. As for his stick, if there was a substitute that I could use for it, I would and make sure it isn’t going to break any time soon. Helping him to his feet and giving him the substitute stick, and follow him to his destination, incase it breaks once more. If there is nothing I could use as a substitute I would help him walk the entire way to his destination.

Character Name: Althlos Levwayn
Character Race: Wood Elf
Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:
Althlos was born in the woods, no large feat of course for a wood elf. Day to day life was... Harsh, to say the least. Constant attacks from monsters and the o
ccasional raid from bandits meant life was far from easy. But being a young boy at the time Althlos failed to see the dangers in day to day life, Althlos soon became one with the woods. Learning the ropes of climbing and mastering the art of archery. Oh how he longed to fight for his village. Defend it with his valor, with his might. You know, the usual.
At the age if 18 Althlos left the village, he knew that the Elders frowned upon him for doing so. Hell his own mother told him that she will no longer view him as her son. But he knew he had to do it, for himself. The village became small... Roaming around in the trees became. Boring. He left for adventure. He wanted to find a town of people just like him, searching for a place to be a child again. A place to play.

After searching for two years he still had not found a town good enough for him. Perhaps his birthplace was the only place he would belong? He had family there, friends. And he foolishly threw it all away for a fools dream. He had gotten into alot of scraps. The war scars on his face and back proved it. Althlos decided to head home... Where ever that was, on his way he met a human, he told Althlos stories of his travels. Althlos then asked what he was. An adventurer? A raider, the man simply replied. 'I am but a merchant. Travelling the lands for the best deals, so maybe one day I can set up a haven for myself'. Althlos was intrested by this man and forgot all about his journey home.
'Could I become a Merchant' He often asked byt the man would always reply with 'You forge your own destiny my lad. The man had ignited a flame inside althlos, ever lasting. Ever burning. after a coupl of years they parted ways. Althlos knew in his heart that the Merchants way of life. was his calling.

What are your characters ambitions?: To become a merchant and then creating his own haven.

"Hello good sir,"
"He'o laddy, intre'ted in mah wares,"? The Dwarf asked.
"I'm a bit short on money as it is, but perhaps I could spare some change to buy from what seems to be the finest looking wares around," The dwarf looked around, shifting his eyes and whispered under his breath.
"Gulli'le bloody Elf,"
"Pardon sir," I replied, responding to the mumbling.
"Noth'ng noth'ng, well we have a few ores fr'm down in the mine's. For instan's, this rare bla'k diamond." He said as he pulled out a piece of coal.
"I am no fool Dwarf, that is but a piece of Coal, and frankly I view this as an insult to my honour. I am not the kind to encite a fight but if you try to swindle me again then I shall have to cross swords with you. Good day my sir,"

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?
I chuckle to myself and walk over to the Orc. I instantely recongise the Dwarf as the one that tried to con me.
"Well little Dwarven man, seems you have gotten youself into a spot of trouble,"
"Please, stop this br'te from killn' me." Responds the dwarf.
I face the Orc "This [profanity="bastard"] deserves nothing more then the pain you will no doubt give him, but perhaps we could let it slide for now. The Dwarf may be rude and vulgar. but you seem like a nice enough Orc to me. Do you really want to waste time in jail because of this Puny and worthless man,"?
The Orc turns and begins to talk to me. "But he took money. Took money out pocket. Won't give back,"
"Maybe if I ask him," I turn and face the Dwarf again. "This Orc is not going to let you go, no be polite and give the money back. A few gold will not do you any good in the grand scheme of things."
The Dwarf slowly reaches into his pocket. The Orc lets him down but to his suprise instead of his gold he pulls out a small dagger.
"Put knife down," Slurrs the Orc as he forces words out of his mouth. I slowly begin to draw out my bow and aim it at his head.
"Elf me deal with him," Says the Orc to me. He then turns to the Dwarf and grabs him by the legs throwing him into the sky. The dwarf collides with the earth with a loud BONK!.
""Orc, I suggest you leave this place for a while, I doubt the humans will be happy with a murderous Orc on the loose," I chuckle. "Just lay low and you should be okay,"
What does your character do?:
I rush over to the old man. The bag of Minas attracts me but I know I must stay true. I bend over and help the old man up.
"Thank you youngen. Most men would of taken my Minas and ran off. I am not who I appear to be though," The man stands up
" I am a lord of a small piece of land and such have acclaimed a small fortune. But the Minas is burning a hole in my pocket and so days like this I pretened to fall and drop them. Searching for someone like you"
I stand in awe "I'm glad to help you, I wouldn't think of taking anyones Money. Espically from someone unable to defend themselves,"
The man puts his hand into his pockets and takes out 3 Midas,
"It may not be much but Its enought to get you started,"
Fear can't hurt you any more than a dream.

Yes, I believe that my skills are efficient. I have been studying English composition for over four years in hopes that in the future, hopefully when I enter college and past that time, I will be able to complete and publish a novel.
Have you had any previous experience in roleplaying?:

I have read, understood and agree to follow the rules to the best of my ability.
How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?:
I heard about Lord of the Craft from a friend I often RP with on one of the two servers mentioned previously. We are both interested in hardcore RP in minecraft servers and he seemed to be on the lookout for servers that fit our interest. He recently showed me several links to the LoC wiki and I was instantly interested. After using the “Wandering Soul” option, I watched people RP and decided that this was the kind of RP server I wanted to be a part of.

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is:
Roleplay is the act of becoming an imaginery character and personifying this character with behaviors, personality and actions that the character would do in certain situations. Roleplay is best done when the roleplayer takes oneself out of the situation and acts solely on how the character would, disregarding their own personal feelings.
In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is:
Meta-gaming is when a roleplayer uses information gained in out of character situations such as on the forums or talking to a friend in roleplay events. These things may also be knowing someone else’s name by looking at the character’s nametag in the chat or above their head when the character’s in roleplay, obviously, wouldn’t see or know these exist.
In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is:
Power-emoting is when a person roleplays as an all-powerful never defeated being without giving themselves opportunity for failure. This may also be in the form of strength, intelligence, likeability, etc. where the person is the best at a certain subject.

Character Name: Malinda Finch
Character Race: Wood Elf
Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:
Malinda is a brown-eyed wood elf that has dyed her hair to the point of it being a swampy green. The color was a mistake at first but as she realized she could do nothing about it and had no other dyes to return her hair to its original color she settled and soon grew to love it. She is a rather cautious wood elf who feels compassion toward nature and tries her best not to disturb it, unless there is no other way to go about things. She is open-minded but often plays the devil’s advocate if she is ever invited on a discussion. She is well read and likes to increase her knowledge by speaking to others and listening to their views.
She doesn’t really care for wearing feminine accessories but she wears a bow because she believes that she could pass for a pretty boy because of the way her hair is cut. The bow serves another purpose, holding her hair, which would pass her shoulders, out of the way so she can see properly. What are your characters ambitions?:
To understand knowledge that comes from all around the world and possibly, sharing this knowledge with the people she meets during her life. She would also like to have a stable job and be a known intelligence figure in elven society. She would love to be a person people come to when they want to know something.
Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here:

Is there anything else you would like to say about your character:
She may seem quiet but when she is around people she trusts and feels comfortable with a new Mal is revealed. She becomes talkative and animated but all that quickly fades if a stranger or someone of higher rank than her approaches. She tries to be mindful of how she appears to others.
She is not a child but her mannerisms and eagerness to follow the lead of someone she sees as her superior mimics a young elf mentality. She was like this as a child too but it seems she never grew out of it.

The merchant part of Arethor was expected to be loud and busily and even though I have never visited this city before, I expect all merchants to be eager and desperate for customers. This seems to be the same with every city or town I visit. Merchants seem to be quieter with reoccurring passersby than they are with strangers. This visit is no exception.
The merchants at their stands call at the people walking, their voices straining and cracking under the force of trying to overpower their neighbors while at the same time grabbing the attention of the seemingly busy people rushing past them. I take my time, eyeing each stall with interest as I mentally remember how much money I have and if the stall has anything I might need later.
Then, breaking my thoughts a boisterous, slightly obnoxious voice breaks through all the others. I follow the voice, both curious and annoyed before my eyes widen in surprise at seeing a dwarf selling his wares at an oddly shaped stall (I say odd because compared to the other stalls, his was noticeably different. I don’t know why I hadn’t noticed before!).
I approach the dwarf, who quiets in consideration as he tries to assess whether or not I am a buyer or if I am going to antagonize him. I smile a small smile and place my pouch of Minas on his stand. The dwarf grins toothily and begins to show off his wares. I honestly found nothing interesting in what he sold but he had entertained me. The very least I could do was buy a few things from him.
You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?
I stare at the snarling Orc and the cornered dwarf in silent anxiety. There was honestly nothing I could do to stop this. I was not as strong as other elves. I did not have anyone close who could help me solve their problem for them. The dwarf, as I examine closely, seems tense but able-bodied, he should be able to handle himself.
I shake my head, moving to go an alternate way. Who knows, perhaps the dwarf bothered the Orc and caused the situation in the first place. I shouldn’t assume anything. As I turn back, I think of a different way of going to my destination.
It will be fine, I assure myself, they’ll figure it out on their own.

What does your character do?:
I rush toward the man in unthinking panic. Even though I didn’t know the man, he looked frail and that fall could be devastating for someone his age. I wonder where his family are, if they left him alone or if he was out for a walk before casting those thoughts aside. It didn’t matter. I wouldn’t ask. Finding out the truth would no doubt lead to me blaming his family members or friends for not looking after him properly.
My eyes flick toward the scattered Minas on the ground. He could have been robbed! What was he thinking?
Sighing, I speak softly. “Are you alright? Do you need me to get help?”
The man is quiet for a moment, letting me lift him to his knees as he stares at me, eyes wise and blank. For a long while, this is all he does and I try and fill the awkward silence he has made with the sounds of me picking up his Minas. I reach for the pouch carefully, glancing up at him then quickly looking away as I snatch it and pour his Minas back into the pouch.
I slowly hand it to him, wanting to leave but feeling as though I should wait until he talks or gives permission.
I watch dimly as the man eyes his Minas in the pouch, eyes scanning the wealth inside before he closes the pouch and smiles. I smile back, unsurely, not really sure what is going on.
“You are a good person.” The man says slowly. I’m not sure if it is his age or if he is purposefully saying it like this, to add emphasis. Nevertheless, I nod. “All of my Minas is here. You didn’t take a single coin.”
I let out a breath, feeling oddly proud and offended all at once. I nod again dumbly before taking a few steps to pass him. The man places his hand on my shoulder, stopping me as he hands me the Minas pouch.
As I try and give it back, the old man shakes his head, still smiling as he leaves his walking stick, stands up straighter and walks away from me, looking much stronger than before. I faintly wonder, as I watch him leave, how many times he has done this and what happened to the poor souls that fell for his trap.

I think that it was just the ale talking. But anyway, I usually help my father with his job, or doing other small things for money, since we aren't the richest family. I'm the normal height and weight for Dwarves my age, and I have burns and scars on my arms and legs from blacksmithing, or the Ironfist. Oh, the Ironfist. How I loath them cannot be expressed. They are petty thugs who think they are so tough because they are in a group.

When I am able to, I will be leaving the place I could call home. I want to be free of rules, and any kind of harm that I cannot control. I'll be able to handle myself, because I am smart and good in combat. I want to create a group that would make Asulon better. If only I knew more about Asulon. "Oh yes, the best in Arethor!"
"I'll take a set of your best armor."
*Volkin gives the merchant the Minas*
"Also, you seem very useful. Would you like to join me in my travels?"
I would have to think about it.. I will tell you the next time I see you of my decision!
A recap of that, I would buy one of his wares, and ask him to join me on my travels.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?
I think to myself, "Hey, that dwarf seems to be in a situation I am commonly in. I should help him, as it would be the right thing to do."
Before the argument turns to violence, I would confront the Orc and tell him to back away from this, for Minas. If he agreed, I would give him it, and let the Orc be on his way, and help the Dwarf get home. If the situation turned to violence, and the Orc refused the Minas, I would defend the Orc using my large axe, and hope to beat him.

What does your character do?: Firstly, I would go to see if he was alright. I would take him to the closest Inn, and buy him a room. I would tell the owner, "Here is enough for 3 nights in your fine Inn, tend to this frail old man." I would then meet him on the last day with a walking stick fit for a king.

In-Character Details

Character Name: Zroyac ve Iseio "z'ro-YAC vey EE-say-OO"
Character Race: Human
Character Biography:- Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Zroyac is the son of Feva and the late Robel Iseio. He was born and raised in Solace and studied to become a scribe. His father, Robel, was a "Scholar of the Earth" and investigated the geology of Asulon. Robel traveled regularly, leaving his son and wife alone. While in the forests of Malinor, Robel came down with an illness and was forced to return home and remain an invalid. Zroyac transcribed Robel's notes, becoming his scribe, and after doing so for Robel's remaining years, He became very interested in his father's work. Robel believed that there was something of great power located in the earth that connected several mining sites around Asulon. Holm, the small island nation which is known for its obsidian mines, was the closest of these sites and seems to emanate the most energy. Unfortunately, Robel could not investigate it due to his condition. After his father passed, Zroyac came to the conclusion that he would complete his father's research as well as record the events he encountered while traveling the world of Auslon. He gathered his things, said farewell to his mother, and head out for the port and a ship departing for Holm.

Zroyac is 26 years old and 5'9''. He has brown hair, hazel eyes, and a fair complexion. He is an intelligent man, having devoted much of his time to his various studies, primarily writing. He is also very adept at glassblowing, as his family is descended from the humans of the Aegis glass-making capital of the Whisper Isles. He has a bias against Orcs, only because he has developed one because his father, and his father's father, all the way back to years of Aegis and the Whisper Isles, are upset that the Whisper Isles were traded with the Orcs for Kramoroe. He is a calm-headed man who does not anger easily. He is also a good listener and is very attentive, which is important for his writing. If interrupted while his is working, he will continue to a point at which he can pause and then address whoever is speaking to him. He is not a fighter by any means; he is of a decent build, but has spent his time learning of his family's craft rather than any military tactics. Albeit he has spent time with his father learning about the various locations and geographies of Asulon, he has not been there himself, and his is known to not have the greatest sense of direction.

Character Ambitions: As illustrated above, Zroyac wishes to continue his father's research and determine what uniquely connects various sites around Asulon, including the mines of Holm. He also wishes to improve his writing ability and record any events he encounters and contribute to the tomes of history regarding the land of Asulon.

Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here:

Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: Zroyac is highly resilient to the cold; however, he wears a cowl nonetheless.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

(I will assume that I have come to Arethor some time after I have traveled to Holm, possibly in search of more leads, or on my way to another known mining site) I look down at my map as I walk, trying not to get lost in the large and numerous city-streets of Arethor. So attentive to my map, I luckily stop walking as I hear a voice practically underneath me call out. I put down my map and jump aside: "I am sorry, I did not see you there... I was so focused..." I then notice that he is what I believe is a dwarf, as I have had hardly any chance of speaking to a dwarf, let alone seen one up close. "Are you a dwarf?" (he might either response positively, trying to sell me things; or negatively, that I would question his race) "What brings you to the city of Arethor? Are not tensions between our two people uneasy?" (He might reply, asking if I intend to fight him) "No, no, friend. I am not one to quarrel. But I have no need for your goods. Instead, I'd like to ask a few questions" I offer him a small bag of Minas. "My father traveled the world of Asulon studying the geological energies. I am now traveling to complete his research. What is the closest Dwarven mine to this city?" (He might be wary, as I am a human asking about a Dwarven mine) "Oh, I mean no ill motives, purely for research and the benefit of Asulon." If he does not accept the money, I offer a second bag of Minas: "It is not much more, but I hope these are worth your trouble." If he accepts, I hand him both bags and listen to what he has to say; otherwise, I hand him one bag and walk away: "Thank you for your time, and may you find success with your wares."

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

At first, I look around to see if there are any patrols on the road that might offer some assistance. If so, I alert one of the situation. If not, I collect myself and approach the two. "Pardon me, but it seems that there is some grievance between you two" (The Orc might threaten me to leave unless I want to answer to him, the Dwarf may seek my aid, silently) "I only seek to mediate, what has this dwarf done to you?" (He might answer, or tell me to leave) I ask the dwarf "Is this true" or "Why does he threaten you?" (Despite the answer) My fellow Orc and Dwarf, it is late, and the lantern light of the distant village is not too far off. Shall we settle our differences over a warm drink and a decent night's rest? Come, I'll buy the first round." Hopefully, they will agree and we shall set off.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenseless man. What does your character do?

I ignore the coins. "Sir! Are you alright?" I help the man up, offering him my arm and shoulder for support. I then look for a rock by the rock on which he can sit. "Here, let's set you down here to rest." I set him down and gather the coins into his bag and hand it to the man. "Are you alright? Just rest here a moment." I take out a small waterskin and offer him a drink. "Take this and drink, I'll look in the area for a suitable walking stick for you." If I find a stick, I help the old man up and let him test it out, if not, I offer to walk with him down the road in the direction he was heading. If he offers me any money for aiding him, "No thank you, sir. I only meant to help you. If you wish to offer me something, let your safe arrival in the next town be enough for me."

Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:When Aegis was being crushed, there were many ships that sailed to a new distant land. Matthew's parents were with him, so he got on a ship headed to Asulon. Before reaching Asulon, the ship crashed and Matthew found himself floating on a plank, near an island. He paddled hard and fast, and was only 12 meters away when he got too tired. he began to paddle again, ignoring the pain in his arms. soon, he landed on shore. He looked around, bewildered. "I.. I guess this is Asulon.." He said. He continued and found some ships, and a few people. This was back when he was 8 (he's 14 now.)After finding them, he traveled with the people who were to build Arethor. He stayed in there town for a while, travelling along Oren road. He decided to stop in a small cluster of buildings. He got food and water there, and continued on Oren road, off to Oren. (Is Oren the human capital of Asulon or Aegis?)

He stared around, bewildered by the great city ahead. He stopped there for the night, and slept under the stars, counting them until he was asleep. The next day, he looked into his dwindling stock of bread, cheese, and some slices of ham. he decided to buy more in the city and made a sandwich, and ate it hungrily. After that, he headed down Oren road, until he was only a quarter-mile away. His patched cloths were beginning to rip, so he decided to buy new clothes when he got there, as his father had been a knight and they had a small fortune.Matthew stopped and gazed at the beautiful walls. He remembered when Arethor had just started. He walked to the gates, and hailed the guard. He went inside, and bought some new archer clothes. He muttered to himself, "These are perfect. Well, better then my old ones at least..." He walked out for a stretch, and found out that bandits were lurking... They ambushed him and knocked him out. The next time his eyelids rose, he was hanging by a rope...Wait..The rope was old and frail... He recalled a thing his father had said.. and he wriggled and squirmed, and eventually the rope snapped. he landed with a small thud, and snuck over to his belongings. His eyes searched for the yew bow his father had gotten for him, and the quiver of arrows.. Hmm... not there.. He looked again, and found them. he grabbed the quiver and slung it over his back, and attached the bow to his back. he grabbed his knife, and snuck up behind the bandit guarding his money and his cloak. He quickly jabbed the man in the side with his dagger, and he and the man tussled. Matthew hit the bandit in the head with the pommel of his dagger, stunning the man. he quickly jabbed him in the armpit, not killing him, but fatally wounding him. he grabbed his cloak and money and sprinted into the fields. He came upon the gates, and sat at a bench. This was where he was going to get a job, grow up, and have a family, he decided. This.. was where his adventure would begin.

The dwarf looks at me for a moment, and says "For 20 minas, you'll have it."
I frown, but reach into my money pouch and produce 25 minas. I hand them to the dwarf, and he gives me the dagger. I pull out my dagger i bought from Arethor, and hack off a fairly medium sized yew stick, and give it to him. The old man thanks me for the helpd, and I smile and say, "It's no problem. I like helping people. it makes me feel better." So I continue briskly walking along the road to Malinor.

Do you have a good grip on English grammar and the English language?: As a former student of "Advanced English Composition & Literature" in high school and college I believe I have a decent understanding of the English language for the purpose of intricate world-creating role-play.
Have you had any previous experience in role-playing?: I have been an avid patron of internet role play since the early days of AOL (American Online) chat rooms. Which I believe now puts me as a role play veteran of 12 years and counting.
Have you read and understood and agree to the rules?: I, Ashaelia, have clicked and read through all rule links presented to me and hereby agree to the terms set forth by LotC.
How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?: Having gotten bored playing through run-of-the-mill Minecraft servers filled with nothing but bad grammar, exceptional griefing, and very little "actual" role play; I began searching the internet for a more intricate storyline based server. The likes of such search led me here to Asulon, and I must say that I love the amount of intense detail and obvious care put into creating such an expansive lore-written world in a well executed attempt at expanding upon a once simplistic sand-box style game.

In your own words, define what the act of role-playing is: The art of Role-Play (in this genres context) is a literary gaming-art in which a player creates a persona that is then "played" or "acted" out in accordance to the surroundings of an imaginary world set up for such a purpose. The point of this act is to create an ever evolving story through which a varietal display of personal choices, vivid imagery, and carefully thought out emotes enhanced with detailed dialogue, are used by a multitude of players in conjunction with one another to create an expansive world of endless wonder and possibilities.
In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming, from what I understand, is the use of outside sources or an out-of-game platform (such as Skype, Teamspeak, Phones, etc) to gain an advantage in game that would otherwise not been possible. Basically, using an external method of communicating to gain help in a current game situation where one would normally have to find aid in game via normal means to obtain help with the situation. This advantage known as "Meta-gaming" can cause unfair advantages in the story's timeline when abused.
In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power-emoting in role-playing is when one character blatantly ignores the actions of certain other characters or actions happening in his/her immediate area in order to unfairly gain an advantage. An easy example ignoring a battle hit in order to gain the upper hand by pretending it either didn't happen or by using an unrealistic means of countering an action.

Character Name: Ashaelia Caeruisce [Ash-ay-lia Care-oo-eesk]
Character Race: Elven
Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:
A maiden of Elven decent, Ashaelia is a devout caretaker of Mother Earth and all her creatures. Garbed in robes of intricate natural design; her long flowing emerald green hair compliments that of her vine strewn, floral accented apparel. Violet eyes look to the sky with a spirit of uplifted hope and love for life. She takes great joy in helping things to grow; from the smallest seed to the largest of humanities escapades. Harboring a deep need to be of service, not only to nature, but to all those that would come in a time of need, no matter how daunting of a task. Aside from such eminent and obvious bindings to the natural world, Ashaelia is a surprisingly bright tactical genius owing to a love of strategic mind games and an exceptional knack for analysis and silent observation.

Originally born in the Elven Capital of Normandor, Ashaelia gained a very basic working knowledge of everything from High Court conduct to the general Marketplace raucous. Once a quiet, shy child; Ashaelia spent most of her formative years observing rather than speaking. This is the reason that no doubt led to her now calm, compassionate, and kind-hearted demeanor. As time passed and she was deemed as having "come-of-age" Ashaelia mounted her courage and set off on a journey of discovery as she left her home village in search of something greater. However, regardless of the grand environment she had once grew up in, Ashaelia somehow managed to keep her life as simple and pleasant as ever. As she traveled she would teach others the joys of growing green life in exchange for being allowed to examine foreign items. She was after all, a very inquisitively curious creature with a lust to learn everything possible when it came to strange objects of unknown origin. This obsession became apparent in her need to examine the ins-outs and inner workings of anything and everything obscure that might cross her path.

Having made her living traveling and teaching strangers the laws of nature and the joys of cultivation she now began to feel a strange longing growing deep within her. It was indeed a rare wish for her race, but she could feel the pangs of motherhood calling her. Nearing the possibly still fertile age of Two Hundered and Twenty Four, she knew that nearly half of her available maternal window was over. Her race had been cursed since the days of Iblees and so offspring were few and far between. It had been recorded that they were only conceivable within the first give centuries of life. And to this end, Ashaelia knew, it was time to make a place for herself in this world. One where she could settle down and raise a family to carry on the traditions that had been passed unto her and ensure the continuation of her culture. Through her passing travels she heard tell of a Druidic Order that made its home in the woodland city of Elandriel. With their respect of the natural world and their deep admiration for retelling the lore of old; it was like a beacon of light bursting forth through the trees awakening her new calling in this world.

Ashaelia finished the days tasks and took rest; For tomorrow she would head for Elandriel, and the start of her new path.

What are your characters ambitions?: To share with others the joys of cultivation, To instill in others a sense of reverence and respect for the natural world, to make her place in the grand tapestry of life and in so doing garner a husband and child with which their culture might be preserved.
Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: Ashaelia - Vine Dress & Floral Wreath
Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: I decided that giving my character a very simple backstory was best in order to observe the flow of the already existing story-lines to better see how I might fight in. This is also the reason I left her future wide open but with a striving factor that keeps her going. This way she has a goal, yet is open to the influences of the world. Having taken a liking to the already existing lore of the world I found it surprisingly easy to find Ashaelia's place in the tapestry. With this mindset in place it affords me a valuable point from which to 'begin' to write her story and help shape the history of Asulon as it unfolds that may later be retold in the records of ancient lore.

The village was quaint and the sun was high. The familiar smells of fresh baked goods filled the market place among the general mercantile chatter and clanging of mental. Ashaelia had been wondering aimlessly, observing the overall merriment of the days occasions; not really looking for anything in particular. That is until a deep bellow whose cries of desperation and anticipation caught her ear. Pausing for a moment, she glanced around to find the direction of the bizarre call that emanated a mix of hope, sadness, determination, and despair. To her right, standing upon a tattered blanket filled with unusual Dwarven wares stood a stocky sort of man. His booming voice attempting to beckon new business his way. The nature of his stance exuded confidence, but in his eyes revealed the look of a man desperately trying to make ends meet. With a heavy heart Ashaelia smiled and glided her way towards him. Meeting his eye she gave a warm friendly heart-warming smile as she bent down to take a look at his wares.

"Aye, such a lovely selection." Ashaelia complimented in an attempt to boost his morale. "It's not everyday you come across goods of this caliber." She said picking up the nearest strange 'thingamajig' and examining every inch of it. "And where does your journey hailed you from Dwarf?"

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?
'Looks like my lessons ran a bit later than usual' Ashaelia thought to herself as she hurried down the stone path on her way towards camp after an unusually busy day. All was good until she couldn't help but over hear the sounds of trouble escalating from afar. The moonlight shown through the clouds to reveal the shadows of a rather large figure in the near distance. His stance about as threatening as his voice. She could tell by the accent that the stranger was of Orcish origin. And his threats seemed to be aimed at a stocky sort of man whose shimmering beard unmistakably gave him away as Dwarven. It was too early for her to tell the cause of the conflict but it was obvious by the nature of things that it was inclined to get serious. Not being one particularly aimed in the ways of combat, yet not being one to walk by idly and let harm come to those in need; Ashaelia slickly guarded herself under the protection of shadow under a nearby tree yet close enough to eavesdrop on the situation. Keeping her ear perked she attempted to find the source of the conflict. If it indeed needed her assistance she would step in to protect the common well-being, but she was not about to throw herself in harms way over something she new nothing about. Especially as underhandedly armed she was compared to the hulking brutes standing before her.

What does your character do?:

All that was heard was the crack of breaking wood accompanied by a loud thud of human bones and a clatter of scattered coin. Without hesitation Ashaelia whisked herself to kneel by the elderly mans side. "Sir, Sir! Are you hurt?" She began examining him gently for any signs of serious damage. In the back of her mind she was already cycling through a list of remedies to ease times such as these. She glanced at the rickety broken old stick. The elderly man seemed to not be harboring any seriously life threatening injuries but simply lie there for a moment a bit winded attempting to catch his breath. Deeming it best to leave him there for a moment while he regained his wits about him after such a tumble she walked her way over to the nearest tree. Feeling her way around as she stare at the branches. One of them looked particularly sturdy and of the right size. She did not like the prospect of cutting down trees all the time. But when an urgent need found itself present she found it perfectly acceptable. Reaching into her bag she pulled out an iron scythe (a crescent shaped axe); in a sweet tongue she whispered a silent prayer to the tree and waited for a response. A gust of wind with its words on the breeze echoed the trees thoughts to her and she ceremonially cut a dark limb of sturdy wood. Walking back over to the man she knelt down and helped him to his feet, along with his newly acquired walking stick. His bag of coins still scattered the ground, but Ashaelia was unconcerned about such things at the moment. She waited by his side to make sure he was in a suitable condition to continue on his way. "That was a rather nasty fall." She giggled to lighten the mood and ease the tension. "Where does your path lead you today, if you don't mind me asking? Perhaps I can accompany you for a while."

Character Name: Xiryks Halisstrad

Sitting now, by the water, I had time to breathe in the nice air and survey the area. Looking around the area noticing that the house was not that far from the edge of a forest, said forest seemed oddly familiar. Which filled my body with excitement, the sudden feeling of knowing where I was. Even now the forests that inhabit Malinor look ever so beautiful in the light of a rising sun. Once I had enough strength to stand up, I made my way to the forest. The idea was to make my way towards Normandor. Why I wanted to go there? I have no clue, but as I saw this forest the name Normander just came into mind, and as fast as it came to mind, I was on my way through the forest.

After a while of traveling through the forest, I started to actually sink into deep thought and nothing but questions popped into my head, like “Why was I in that house?” and “Why can I not remember anything before now?”. Because of my thoughts I didn’t notice that I ran straight through someones camp, destroying their fire. I stopped instantly, looked around and was about to run again before I heard a yell come from a tented shelter. I stood still and faced it, and out came an odd looking person who, for unknown reasons, seemed to recognise me. The man said something about being surprised I survived after what he and his friends did and before I knew it he drew his sword. Friend or foe, I was put into fight or flight mode and what I did was something stupid.

As the man drew his sword, and raised it towards me, my mind went silent and everything seemed to be at a slower motion, either that or my mind started to grind much faster. He advanced towards me, raising his sword more to swipe at me and at this point I dashed to him and drove my shoulder into his gut, making him collapse to the ground. As soon as I rose, I ran as fast as I could from that man. Though it didn’t take long for that man to get back up and catch up to me running through the forest. As soon as I saw him, I stopped and got ready to fight him and most likely die to this mans sword. But as he approached me and was about to deliver the killing strike, something happened.

The man, he just collapsed. It took me a moment to realize that there was blood spattered over me and an arrow buried deep in the mans head. What did this? Where did it come from? Is he friendly? Am I next? Were some of the questions that ran through my head, but were all instantly dropped the second another arrow shot, only inches from my face. I looked in the direction it came from and what I saw made my heart drop. A monster, which seemed to look like a real moving skeleton, of all things but I didn’t stay to question it on it’s existence, I took this time to run for it and make as much distance between me and that thing.

After what could've been a good, whole day of running I knew I was safe. I began to slow down to a walk and the second I did, it felt as if I got punched in my gut and that is when I remembered I didn’t eat anything for as long... well as long as I can remember. So now I wander this forest looking for Normandor, and well some food would be nice. This is my story, or well the beginning of my story as it has only really begun.

(Side note: I did post this about an hour off the 24 hour mark, and I am sorry for that. It's just that where I live, it's 3:27am. Sorry again.)

Before he knew it, three armed men headed into the meadow. Matthew considered if he should call out or not.He decided to, and called out, “Hello down there!” that was a mistake. Instantly the men looked up, and one pulled out a axe. The man held the axe steadily, and hacked at the limb, as the limb was low to the ground. Matthew fell, and he began to be hit by the axes and swords of the men.The last thing he saw before his eyes fluttered out and he faded into darkness was blood all around him, and he hadnt fought back.

3 years later, Matthew woke up to find himself on a cot in some sort of sanctuary. A monk looked over, saw he was awake and said, “You’ve finally woken up! You’ve been in a coma for 3 years.I had almost lost hope that you were alive. Well, I guess your wondering who you are. I’ll tell you in a moment.” I sat up, and looked around. The monk returned, with some clothes and food. He said, “Your name is Matthew. You lost your clothes, so heres some new ones.” Matthew took the light grey pants, boots, belt, and shirt with hood, and some gloves and a backpack. He quickly put them on. He took a bite of an apple and let the tart sweet juice flow into his mouth like a waterfall. He briskly looked around, and realized that he was sitting in the middle of a small building, with colored cloth covered the top like a tarp. He got up, getting ready for adventure. He looked at a map, and decded to go to Arethor. This was where he was going to become a adventurer, he decided.

The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? Matthew decided to sit down and listen to his wares. “I have a grappel hook, good for adventurers! I have a dagger, and a few torches!” I walk over and browse his goods. I check the dagger, and make a circle with my index finger and thumb, and flick it. It doesn’t mover, but is well balanced. I say “I’ll take the dagger, the grappel, and the torches.”
The dwarf replys, “That’s most my wares. I think… I’ll say 40 minas.” I sigh, but toss the money on the counter and take my items. I sit down on a bench, rubbing the dagger against my finger… hmm… It cuts my finger slightly, and I was rubbing lightly. I quickly suck my finger going Sthhhh

You’re in the Cloud Sanctuary late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. The only present monk is fast asleep, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? I call to the monk but he does not stir. I decide to take matters into my own hands. Sure… a 14 year old against a grown orc… such a easy fight… I think this.Well, I’ve got to help. I stride over to the area, pull out my dagger, and jab it into the orcs gut angrily. The orc looks at me, angered. He punches me and I fall to the ground. I toss my knife, and I get lucky and it flys into his chest, so he rather wounded. I run at him, fusts ready, and punch him in the gut with my strongest punches. It weakens him slightly, and while I fight, the dwarf runs. I give one last blow before sprinting off. Luckily, hes weakened and far slower than me from a bit of blood loss. I get into the mountains and he stares around, not knowing wherei am. He then just leaves. I sigh and vault down, falling a meter. And hurting my ankle.

The old man replys, “Well, I was trying to find The Sleeping Boar Inn, but then my cane broke. Could you help me?” I nod after deciding, grab my only dagger, and chop off a oak stick. I hand it to him, noting that hes around his 70’s. I quickly ask, “Do you know about Aegis?” The old man replys, “Yes. It was being attacked, so we had to flee. That was when I was ten years old. Im 73 now.. Anyways, we started building right away. After many years, we created the Asulon today.” I look at him, and smile. I then remember I urgently need to go, as I have a meeting with a friend at the Sleeping Boar Inn. I quickly sprint off, but quickly wave to the old man aswell.

Character Name: Nihlar Ashcroft
Character Race: Dark Elf
Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Nihlar Ashcroft, simply put, is a sprightly young elf of 85 years and a perhaps too helpful spirit. Nihlar was born eight-five years ago on the outskirts of the city Laurelin to a loving family. He was born with the normal snow-white hair, but unusual red eyes. His family and the town he lived in knew it was an oddity, but it was never a point of contention. His father was an avid collector of tales, which he would happily share with his young son. Nihlar's favorite stories often involved brave heroes who fought off the undead. Something about fighting an enemy that shouldn't even be moving intrigued and thrilled him. His mother, on the other hand, was far more down-to-earth than his father. She trained him in the bow and sword, and encouraged him to hunt on his own. As the elf boy grew, he became known for his negotiating skills, often resolving issues with words, rather than the fairly formidable combat skills taught to him by his mother. Many of the beggars on the streets knew him well, for he was the person that would give away his last few coins with a smile on his face. He always puts others safety before his own, almost to a fault.
He dreams of becoming a Paladin, fighting the undead and helping those in need. He is easily spotted by his characteristic blue and gold clothing, colors he is quite fond of, something beggars and persons in distressed were grateful for.
What are your characters ambitions?: Nihlar wishes to become a Paladin.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? I slowly entered the city of Arethor, not due to caution, but wonder. Every city is a new world to be explored. As I meander down the streets, I hear the call of a vendor. "Fine goods for sale! There is something for everyone in my shop!", yells a poorly-clothed dwarf. His eyes lock with mine as I approach his stall, but they seemed more fearful than happy. "Is there something I can help you with, sir?", he nervously says to me. "I was looking for a new sword, perhaps something of dwarven make. Do you think you can help me?", I respond, knowing full well he had nothing of quality. The vendor scrambled around his store, and came up with an iron sword a few moments later. "This is the best sword I have to offer sir. It is of my own forge, and I sell my wares proudly.", he said, much more enthusiastically. I eyed the roughly made blade, doubting it would last more than a few blows. "It looks wonderful! It is exactly what I need!", I said, knowing that I would be walking away with a much lighter coin purse than he expected. "The blade is 100 minas, sir." I handed him a pouch, filled with many more coins than was the cost. He looked up, but I had almost disappeared. He looked more carefully, and he saw me. I threw him a jaunty wink, and continued on my stroll through the mighty city.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? It was late, and the road was notorious for bandits. I had little to fear, knowing my words or my blade could end any dispute peacefully. The blade would always be a last resort, and always was. I came upon a dwarf and an orc arguing. The orc was clearly attempting to rob the poor dwarf, but the conversation paused as I strode into earshot. "Good evening, gentlemen. I hope I am not interrupting anything of importance. What seems to be the issue?", I called to them. The dwarf looked immensely relieved at the sight of another person. The orc eyed me, knowing I was a threat, but said nothing. I strode to the dwarf, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Ah, young Dorin! I was looking for you!", I said to the dwarf, while subtly poking him in the ribs. The dwarf almost jumped, but understood and managed to conceal his surprise. "My good Orc, I hope my friend here was not bothering you. I do hope these coins will prevent any further problems.". I tossed him a bulging pouch of coins and strode away, with my hand still firmly on the dwarf's shoulder, before the orc could say anything. Once I had escorted him to the city, I patted his shoulder, handed him what few coins I had remaining for a room at the inn, and sauntered off into the darkness.

What does your character do?: I came upon an old man. His frail frame barely filled the clothes he was wearing. He looked too weak to be walking with the thin cane he was carrying with him. As I approached, the cane snapped, and he flopped heavily to the ground, with the clatter of a coin purse breaking open. I walked over to the stunned old man, and offer him a hand to stand up. Once the man was standing, I crouched over the pick up the coins he dropped. He watched me carefully, with his sharp eyes not missing a detail. I procured a new pouch from my pocket, and refilled it for him. "Why do you help me?", whispered the old man. "Because I can.", I replied softly, knowing he had lived a hard life. The man did not speak after this, seemingly contemplating my words. I handed him the pouch, and he hefted it in his palm. The pouch was noticeably heavier than when he dropped it, but he said nothing. I walked to the forest on the side of the road, and found a much thicker cane, and handed it to him. He took it, again silently. We walked side by side, silently, for a long while, until we reached Malinor. He looked at me for the first time since I handed him his coins. He whispered his thanks, and walked away, with new hope in his step. I merely watched, shrugged, and went on my way.

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Roleplaying is when a player portrays a fictional character, through video games.
In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta gaming is when your character uses knowledge that was learned out of character. For example, if you learned in OOC chat the location of a city, this would be considered meta gaming because you did not learn this through RP.
In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is:
Power gaming is when you deny another player's actions, or your character is overpowered and does unrealistic things. You perform actions before any other player can react. *Punches Bjorn in face* would be powergaming, because instead of saying *goes to punch Bjorn in face*, you will give "Bjorn" a chance to do something.

Character Name: Arthur Fenix

Character Race: Human
Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:

Twenty-one years ago, Brunmer Fenix, a woodsman, was walking through the Cloud Forest, humming a tune, when he thought he heard a baby crying. He followed the sound to the source - an infant, swaddled in cloths, left in the middle of the woods. Brunmer decided to keep the child, and named him Arthur.
Arthur was brought up in a cabin in the Cloud Forest, his adopted mother Sanala educating him about Asulon. Arthur learned how to survive from Brunmer, and picked up his adopted father's uncanny skill with an axe. By the time he was seven, Arthur could down a century-old oak with a few blows.
Arthur and his "parents" lived in happiness, the "wild boy" growing into a strong, handsome young man. On the eve of Arthur's twentieth birthday, Brunmer contracted an illness, and Sanala after him. Arthur nurtured to the man and woman that brought him up, but, after a few months, Brunmer and Sanala Fenix succumbed to the mysterious sickness.
After burying his parents in two crude, unmarked graves south of the Aquila Mountains, Arthur decided that the land had too much to offer than to spend his whole life in the Cloud Forest. With nothing but his axe, a deerskin bag, and the clothes on his back, Arthur set out to live life to it's fullest.
Arthur is handsome, with a jutting jaw, sharp green eyes, a shock of brown hair, and a big, tall, frame. He is seen as rowdy, and rough (usually after a drink or two), but he can be kind, and gentle. He typically wears a worn red shirt, and leather pants. He is rarely seen without his axe.

What are your characters ambitions?: To go on an epic adventure, with bards everywhere singing his tales.

"Swords! Shields! Various arms, Dwarven trinkets! The lowest price in all of Asulon!", shouts the little man, with a nervous, uncertain voice.

"I'm fine without it, Dwarf.", I reply. "But here's some coin for your troubles."
With that, I drop a quartet of Minas on the dwarve's counter, and walk out of the store.

I hear the sound of struggle, and come over to see an Orc, lumbering over the poor Dwarf, chortling with delight. Not in a good mood as it is, I huff over to the situation, alerting the two men.
"Orc, I would suggest you get out of my sights, before I get angry.", I state, holding my axe in two hands.
The dwarf, eyes wide, backs up, and the stinking Orc grabs him by the collar, paying little attention to me.
"Orc!", my voice raised in a growl. "Last chance!"
The Orc turns to me, snorting. "Wha ye gon do, boi, ey? Do ye worst-"
Within an instant, my axe flies through the air, landing in the Orc's forearm. The blow cuts his arm half off. With a howl, the Orc pulls the axe out, dropping the dwarf, and stumbles away into the night. The dwarf, on the ground, begins to crawl backwards.
"Get out of here, little man." I say. "Go, git!" With that, the dwarf tramples away, tripping a few times. I pick up my bloodied axe, feeling little guilt for maiming the violent man. I continue on my way.

Seeing the old man fall, I instantly think of my father. I rush over to him, and make sure he is okay.
"Sir, let me help you."
I walk to a nearby tree, and swiftly snap a good-sized branch off of it. I help the old man to his feet, and give him the branch to lean on.
"There you are!"
"Bless your kind heart, adventurer!", the old man replies, and begins to hobble away.
As he leaves, I notice that the coins are still on the ground.
"Sir, you forgot this!", I shout, handing him the Minas. As he leaves, smiling, I continue on my way to Malinor.
