Character Name: William Peregrine Gender: Male Age: 22 Backstory:
The small town of Lilac, Kanto was where William Peregrine was born. Named for his grandfather, he was already set up to be a strong trainer. The quaint section of the region was filled with subsistence farmers. The plots stretched far, hills rolling through the pasture. At the age of six, his father gifted him with his first Pokemon. Freshly hatched from and egg and still tripping over it's legs, the Mareep and Will instantly bonded. William, an extrovert, thrived off social situations. His Pokemon was his best friend and he was quite the trainer. When he turned seven, his parents sold the ranch, packed up their belongings and moved to Celadon City. The city life was not one for William or for Mareep. The boy was unhappy that the Pokemon couldn't roam freely in their miles of land. At the age of 10, Will was invited to join a prestigious Trainer's School in Saffron City. He longed to travel the world but was instead cooped up in a classroom to learn about voyaging and not actually doing it. The boy graduated with honors when he turned fifteen and him and his companion, now a Flaaffy, were ready to travel. His parents were not so keen on the idea. They told William to stay home and follow his father in managing the Kanto power generators. For two years, the boy was unsatisfied with his career and envied the trainers from around the world who came to Celadon. One week after his seventeenth birthday, Will and Flaaffy escaped the confines of the power plant and ran away to Vermillion City. His Pokemon companion was still his best friend and they began to travel far and wide, now being the envied ones and not the envious.

(fill these out in character. These are to test your RP abilities. This is not the biggest decision maker, but can drastically help your application if you are good.)
You are running as fast as you can to get to the pokemon center, your sick meowth pants heavily in your arms. You know if you do not make it soon the poor thing may not make it. At that moment, you hear a shriek. Turning to your right you see a small girl, overshadowed by a menacing Arbok. You have no pokemon that are fit for battle, but if you don't do something, the child will almost certainly be lunch. You give a worried glance down at your meowth, and then back at the scene unfolding before you.... you have a choice to make, and you have to make it now.
Willaim's nimble footsteps made indents in the mud but he stopped when he heard the sudden shriek. Meowth was struggling to breath in his arms and the girl seemed to have enough air to scream. She had not yet seen the young male so it would be easy to escape. The lights of the Pokemon Center gleamed ahead of him, advertising the newest medical treatments. The girl, petite with scraggly brown hair, was now lying in the mud, trying to scramble away. I'm sorry Meowth. The boy thought as he set the young Pokemon down on the trail. He wasn't battle ready but he was rash and jumped in front of the cobra Pokemon. "Hey!" He yelled, waving his arms. The amber eyes of the snake shifted onto Will. The boy didn't know what to do next. Just as he thought that he would also he a goner, a large rock knocked Arbok in the head. Meowth stood on the path, weak and tired. The snake slithered after the young cat Pokemon and Meowth fled into the woods, never to be seen by William again.
You grunt with frustration as you return your beaten and bruised beedrill to its pokeball. How in the world your opponents sandslash is that powerful, you have no idea. You only have two pokemon remaining. Your starter, who is only in it's second form, and your pidgeotto, who has already had a hard day of battles. Who do you go with now?
Will's hand shifted multiple times above his remaining two Pokeballs. He snagged the first in his grasp and threw it out onto the sandy field. "Pidgeotto, I need you to do your best right now!" He yelled, half for his bird Pokemon and half to give himself the spirit. Flaaffy wouldn't put a dent in the towering Sandslash. He needed to take a strategic move to this battle. "Sand Attack!" He yowled, remembering the lessons from the Trainer School about evasive movements. "Pidgeotto, agility!" He added as the unkempt feathers of the Pokemon blurred in speed. The sand was in the way now, covering the battle. The go-go goggles his uncle had given him had little use but this was a great time to use them. The machinery on the goggles zoomed through the sand and provided clear views. "Finish. Aerial Ace!" He called out as the bird darted forward and the shadow of the opponent's Pokemon fell.
The trade being offered to you is more than generous. Not only is what they're offering shiny, but it is the perfect type you need to fill your party out. But... is it really worth your starter? After all you have been through, the countless adventures you have shared, will you forfeit all of that for the perfect team combination? You step up to trade machine, sweaty palms, now is the moment of truth...
Flaaffy's Pokeball was grasped in his hand, his fingers twitched. Since his sixth birthday, his faithful Pokemon was always by his side. Now, she sat unknowing of the outside world in her Pokeball. The trader, a bulky girl with blinding blonde hair, stared at him with piercing brown eyes. "Flaaffy...isn't up for trade anymore. I'm sorry." William mumbled. The girl looked astonished, even furious. Her arms grasped Will's shirt and she huffed obscenities at him. Will closed his eyes to shield them from the spit she emitted. Out of nowhere, a buzzing sound vibrated the boy's body. He was dropped back down to the ground and the girl was huddled on the floor, shaking. Flaaffy stood by his side, hands vibrating with pure energy. She was always there for him, wasn't she?

Name: Ashlynn Ashton
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Backstory:
Ashlynn grew up on a small island in the Hoenn region. She lived there with her father, whom was from Lavendar town in the Kanto region, and her mother, who was a native to the island. Ashlynn lived there happily. She always did well in school, she had friends, and she had two loving parents. One day, just a few days after her birthday, a Thunderous "Kyoooooo!" Was heard from the ocean, and a massive tidal wave crashed over the shores, nearly sinking the Island! Ashlynn and her mother escaped towards a boat, while her Father fought the beast that had attacked their Island. For it was none other than the Lord of the sea, Kyogre! Her father summoned forth his prized Charizard, and took to the skies! He and the mighty beast had fought tooth and nail, until Charizard was hit down by a wave, and it's tail flame had gone out. The two sank into the depths, swallowed by the beast. Then, as the enraged Kyogre sent a wave to sink Ashlynn and her mother, a light shone through the clouds and rain. It was Rayquaza! Lord of air! It descended to quell the enraged sea god, and succeeded, but it was too late. The sea god's tidal wave had sunken Ashlynn and her mother, swallowing them up with the sea. So Rayquaza did something nobody could expect. It dove, down into the depths, and retrieved the Girl. Before it returned to the skies, it blessed the girl with new life, leaving her at the harbour in slateport. As she awoke, she found herself alone, and scared. So she took what little money she had, and left Hoenn to find a new home. It was just then that she saw a qwilfish in the sea. The poor thing looked injured, like it had been hurt by Kyogre's wrath. So she looked about and asked a kindly fisherman for a pokeball. He obliged and handed it to her, and she captured the qwilfish, taking it with her to her new life.
Character responses (I assume I don't need the scenarios, just the responses)
Ashlyyn looked to her meowth and then to the girl. Thinking on her feet, she darted forward, scooping the girl out of the way as she ran, the girl in her arms, towards the nearest town. Ashlynn panted as she set the girl down. The girl beamed, shouting "That was amazing!" at Ashlynn. Ashlynn just gave a smile and nodded to the girl. The girl went home to tell her parents of the escapade, while Ashlynn just healed her pokemon and went on her way.
Ashlynn grinned as she looked at her opponent's sandslash.. She knew that her next pokemon could win easily. "Mr. Sticky, go!" She shouted, tossing out her beloved qwilfish. "Now, toxic!" She said as the qwilfish spewed poison at it's target. The sandslash tried to evade, but to no avail. It was now badly poisoned. She cheered as she shouted "Now! Aqua tail!" The qwilfish obliged and swung at the sandslash with a tail coated in water. It struck, landing a super effective hit. The sandslash countered with stone-edge, and hit, but it wasn't very effective. Qwilfish then used minimize, shrinking down to become more evasive. Sandslash used crush-claw, but it missed, as Qwilfish was more evasive. Qwilfish then hit with another aqua tail, felling the sandslash as it was afflicted by poisoning.
Ashlynn looked at her pokeball and sighed. She smiled lightly and turned from the trade machine. "I'm sorry, but no deal! Mr. Sticky just means too much to me." She walked away, never regretting not making that trade, as she had spent many happy days with her qwilfish, and would now enjoy many more to come.

Um, is this still ongoing? If so I would like to join, but I'd rather wait for a response before I post anything as I try to put my heart and soul into my writing and I'd rather not come up with an elaborate back story to be read by no one.
