When he was in the fields one day a group of raiders came, knocked him out and he woke up in an abandoned bunker, probably used before the meteors fell. He assumed the raiders were using this as their base. Rusty didnt just scavenge he also was somewhat skilled in survival instinct, it was something you had to learn growing up in the wastes. He noticed he wasnt tied up, thanking the world the raiders werent too bright. Making his way out he is spotted by one of the raiders, rusty uses the raiders poor stance to knock him off balance and stop his face in. He quickly dashes up the stairs and into the wastes. Define role playing in your own words, do you have any past role playing experiences?
Roleplaying is the act of using words to act out a different person's life in direct response to situations created by oneself and those around them. As for experience, puh-leese. I've been roleplaying for years. I'm like the most experienced roleplayer ever.
What is your reason for applying to this server?
I want to roleplay.
I love apocalyptic servers.
Have you been banned before, if so why?
Do you agree with our rules, how about the lore?
Yes, and yes. I could restate everything in them, but you'd still have to trust me on whether or not I actually follow them. I'd try to reassure you, but really, would you kindly take a chance, just like with everyone else that applies with enough effort.
Will you use the server's official texture pack?
Do I look like I want crummy grass and stone instead of purdy post-apocalyptic stuff? I've been using Last Days for a year now.
Define Powergaming in your own words, example:
Powergaming is the act of controlling someone else's character or providing a situation that they absolutely cannot escape. "Steve killed Shaun."
Define Metagaming in your own words, example:
Ugh, really? ANOTHER ONE? Okay. Metagaming is taking information from OOC when your character would never know it and using it. Example: Finding someone using OOC info.
Character name: (Last names aren't required)
Your character's story so far:
Quinn Fay was originally a daughter of the Nomads. She learned how to survive the wastes with them, but when she met a Wastelander, she was fascinated. With much begging, she gained permission from her family to follow the Wastelander for a day and then return, but when she caught up to him she was ambushed by Crawlers and had to run for it. Quinn slipped as she ran along a cliff face and rolled down the hill. It was a few days before she got back up to the top, her injured leg slowing her down, and she couldn't see any trace of her Nomadic family. There was a small cache of things left for her though, hidden where her family's tent had been, and a small note explaining that they were headed east.
With that in mind, she set out on the long journey, dead set on returning to her parents.
Does or did your character have any companions or family?
She has family, a mother and father, but no companions.
How old is your character?
She is approximately nineteen years old, but Nomads don't take much stock in age.
Describe what your character looks like, any distinctive physical features?
Quinn Fay is somewhat pale because she travels by night a lot in the Wastes. She has a scar down the right side of her face and blue-green eyes.
^ Quinn as a child
How does your character act?
Quinn seems pretty innocent at first glance, but when you actually look at her you can tell she's not going to be an easy conquest. Fiesty, efficient, and cold to anyone that hasn't earned her trust, she's a warrior by nature and a leader by heart.
Quinn's occupation is... well, she's a jack-of-all-trades. She can't use better than iron in most things, but here's the general low-down on what she can use:
And of course a bow.
With farming, two out of three seeds that she plants won't make it to becoming a full-grown plant. (This is an honor system thing that I do uphold). She's good at crafting and smelting, but she's not so good at the lumberjack trade, and she's a very good fighter.
Does your character have an education? (Read or write)
Yes, she can read and write. Reading old books found in abandoned libraries is the key reason for why she knows the theory of farming and tree-cutting, smelting and crafting and mining. Hence being technically capable of it, but not very good, as she's never been properly taught how to.
Any special skills that your character has, nothing unbalanced:
Quinn is perceptive due to all of her years of reading and mental stimulation, but her cold efficiency has left her somewhat lacking in the charismatic department.
Does your character hate or fear anything?
Quinn is mortally afraid of Crawlers, but oddly enough she's pretty calm when it comes to defusing one of those blasted walking bombs.
Describe an example of your character in great suffering and pain (RP, and Long):
When Quinn fell down the cliff, it was a very bumpy process. She hit many rocks on the way down which, despite slowing her fall, were very painful and didn't seem to help much. When she hit bottom, it was with a loud crack as a bone in her shin fractured, just short of breaking completely. At first she started to scream until she remembered her training in that sort of situation (screaming brings worse things upon you in the wastes) and stuffed her fist in her mouth until it stopped hurting quite so much. She had done something like this before when she was younger, and ripped part of her shirt off as she tried to remember what their community's healer had done. Oh, right, splint it-- but with what? Quinn winced as she glanced over at her bow. Her leg had stopped seeming to want to kill her at the moment, but that was because she hadn't moved, and her bow was just out of reach. With a wince she put the cloth in her mouth and rolled over to grab the bow, every muscle in her body clenching with the pain that the action sent through her system. Waiting for the pain to fade, she rolled back over so that she could sit up, sobbing silently, her patience and ability to keep quiet slowly fading to nothing. She had, luckily, kept her leg straight, which helped as she ever-so-slowly snapped her bow in half and used the pieces to splint her leg, trying not to clench her teeth as she took the cloth out of her mouth so that she could tie them together. With the extra support she didn't feel quite so much pain, but it still took her almost half an hour to stand up again, stopping whenever she felt pain. It took so very long, panting and cursing, for her to get back to the top, and it didn't help that she first had to seek out a safe path. Every step she took was a fire that licked at her resolve, a scream that tried to claw free from her throat, but eventually, against her expectations, she reached the top. In the distance she saw the place that her family had been camping the night before. They were breaking camp, but she didn't have the strength to get there, nor the volume necessary to call out to them and get them to reach her. Besides, if she did scream, something else was bound to get her first.
Laying down-- a process as slow as standing up-- and resting would help her catch up to her family, and she would eventually find them in a town, or something. Drat it all! If only she hadn't gotten hurt, she would be able to run to them... but at this rate such a run was suicidal. Drat, drat, drat...
Anything else to add?
Can't wait to see the server. Oh, and read my FULL application. You'll find things in places you never expected.
Guys, just a little update on the server status into tomorrow. I live in the US Northeast, and a blizzard is coming. I do not know if I will lose power, but if the server shuts off unexpectedly, then that's the case. If I do lose power I will come onto the forums and tell everyone about the server being down. Hopefully, I won't have to.
Despite having not having many people at all on the server today I actually had a fantastic time. I guess it isn't how many people there are but how well people that ARE there can roleplay. Thanks Richaro, Sgt Pepper & Red for roleplaying there with me today. I had an absolute blast.
Was beginning to have my doubts but I think this server really has a lot of potential. C'mon guys get active and get in there! After all we're nothing without you!
